The Scottish Football League today placed an upper limit on which division Sevco can play in next season – their Third. We must now wait on the company providing sufficient information to complete their application to the SFL and for membership of the Scottish FA. Although many Rangers fans want Sevco to join the Third Division, chief exec Charles Green was clearly hoping to start life higher up the food chain.
The overwhelming nature of this verdict indicates the solidarity between clubs and fans, throughout the divisions, on how our sport is governed. This is a good thing but it leaves one burning question on the table:
Is the Scottish Premier League insolvent?
Last week SPL chief exec Neil Doncaster told SFL clubs that the Premier League would be unable to meet its contractual obligations if they did not vote Sevco into the First Division. Unless this was a shameless lie designed to bully clubs into giving Doncaster what he wanted, the Scottish Premier League Ltd should seek to appoint an administrator without delay.
You can ignore comments about league reconstruction at some unspecified point in the future, Doncaster told us last year that “those who want 16 teams in the top flight are deluding themselves.”
The Scottish Football League does not need the SPL, or its money, to continue to thrive as a community-based sporting entity. They will flourish. What happens to the SPL remains to be seen.
As we have observed once or twice before, M. Platini, where are you? We need the football world to assist with the survival of the game in one of its historic heartlands.

Doncaster, Regan and Longmuir should all now resign. They have clearly lost the trust of Scotland’s clubs.
First podium on this glorious day?
from the Dead Rangers site…
RANGERS’ future remains uncertain after the Scottish Football League clubs voted against the Light Blues playing in the First Division next season.
At a meeting at Hampden today, the 30 member clubs agreed to accept Rangers into the SFL but voted against the SFL Board being allowed to broker a deal with the SPL and SFA over new structures and procedures which would also include Rangers playing in Division One.
It is now understood that on the back of a briefing SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster and SFA counterpart Stewart Regan gave to clubs last week that the SPL will introduce a plan for SPL 2 – which would include Rangers – and invite existing Division One members to join.
Canamalar – apart from them disappearing forever, the best result we could have hoped for was the Newco going into SFL 3 and that is what is being proposed.
I take the point about Spartans and others waiting in line to apply for the vacant spot, but Newco was always going to be accepted into the SFL.
If they had been voted into the SPL or SFL1, then I would have agreed with you about the game being completely corrupt.
It will be interesting to see if Donkey/Raygun attempt to implement SPL2….I think our club should now make a statement calling for a vote of no confidence in both officials. Then go after RC Ogilvie.
I’m not celebrating….yet!
T4
Well done all the SFL clubs who voted No and showed real integrity when it was most needed.
Maximum respect to the club that voted against them getting in at all.
Now Ogilvie (especially), Doncaster and Regan must be removed from their positions.
Wow. Interesting article. Some implications there that seem to have been foreseen? :))

1st again!
Are you Paul 67 in disguise?

let the games begin…..

SFL CHIEF EXECUTIVE DAVID LONGMUIR
“Today has been one of the most difficult decisions to be made by all concerned.
“The decision has been taken in the interest of sporting fairness. I am comfortable that the Scottish Football League has made a very decisive decision.”
A very decisive decision……………….. you can hear the hurt and pain of Longmuir in that statement i also hope someone is looking after Bannantyne he will be desolate
Sorry to be a misery guts Bhoys and Ghirls but I will wait to celebrate, when Ogilvie, Regan and DOncaster are gone and we have a new Scottish Football Association and Sevco fail to meet the SFL standards whicch they surely will, then I will break out the jelly and ice cream.
Today for me is only one part of the jigsaw and I can’t find where it fits yet..
Very happy to see though that the bullying and intimidation so favoured of the cabal is not working with the Football men and women of Scotland..
That’s a start..

Rangers to Division 3. Every other Saturday one if Scotland’s smaller towns will get to learn what life was like in the time of the Vikings.
SFL CHIEF EXECUTIVE DAVID LONGMUIR
“The Rangers representatives were invited in at the end of the meeting and informed that their application to play in the SFL had been successful; and that the vast majority of clubs had voted in favour of them joining Division Three.
“They accepted this with good grace and went out of the door with their heads held high.”
Hilarious
Did Stranraer really vote against them getting into division 3?
I can bear a grudge with the best, but that is Olympic class.
Sink the SPL
And dump the administrators who’ve done nothing except talk Scottish Football down
Re-join the SFL and the money wasted on administrators can go into improving the standard of player
Some great quotes on the BBC website.:
Richard Allan: “Rangers also get their wish to play in England! Berwick Rangers away :)”
Paul67 – the Scottish Premier League Ltd should seek to appoint an administrator without delay
GET ME DUFF AND PHELPS!!!! (thumbsup)
Forget anything else, I fully expect there to be at least 3 resignations from the top of Scottish football, and before the close of play today
Hun goes out to car, wait ten minutes, shouts to wife.
“Haw Mary, how do you spell Stenhousemuir, the Garmin is no picking it up”
2010 Never Again
Cute Paul67…very cute <:-))
The first domino has fallen. Enjoy the moment.

Hardly. The Vikings bathed regularly. (thumbsup)
Ice Cream van driving round in circles outside New Lodge RC church, local priest declares-
“Ice Cream is a dish best served cold”
Can we now have a period of quiet reflection and grace as we consider the implications of this turn of events and may we rest gently in the knowledge that…..
…….this evening’s SSB should be an absolute raving hoot!
Ah cannae wait to hear Jabba’s take on this ,too. How will the corpulent fantasiser spin this so it was his idea all along and that he fears nothing from the rabid pack of orcs lookin’ to stuff him into the giant pot for the weekend soup.
Anyway….I now expect a flurry of legal slurry to wash over iPox and its denizens, ensuring their relegation from Div 3 in a few months time.
What then,dear reader? What then?

They must be so proud having the best stadium in Div 3.
Well, I think they have a stadium!
===
Even If they do have Ibrokes, Queens park have Hampden so they dont even have the best or biggest stadium In the league. I still dont think they’ll be playing next season, still never mind, back to Celtic and moving on, strong rumours about Jordan Rhodes signing, would be a great statement from Celtic to pay over £4m for a player.

That’s what really went on. Ignore any guff about “Rangers” definitely heading for D3. This fight has only just started.
