  1. Can only hope someone within Celtic deals with the ‘Griffiths thing’. The new boss doesn’t need this distraction.

It does show the many unknown variables at such a large club and the possible folly in not having an adequate management team.

Ange will have to wear many hats over the course of this season.

I genuinely wish him all the best.

  2. A week or so ago someone wanted me ‘moderated’ for my comments on Griffiths having burnt his bridges and about his ‘mental health’ issues.

Wonder if he still feels the same way?

I’m not making light of mental health issues…only people who claim to have mental health issues but continuously behave like a prick.

People like that do a tremendous disservice to mental health causes and sufferers.

Of course, I could argue that he makes these mistakes because of his mental health issues…but I won’t.

  3. it would be inappropriate to comment till the facts had been established……naw?

That’s a good point. We should avoid speculating on any official investigation ongoing.

However, I think its entirely appropriate to mention Ange’s role in this. In any player considerations. His lack of trusted lieutenants. The many roles we are expecting him to cover.

Agree, we need to exercise caution when discussing the specifics of any reason why Leigh may have left pre season gathering.

  5. Jimmy…………..

Management, is suited to good Managers……..they are a rare breed but they handle things differently to the rest of us. The unexpected event is where they earn their money. Issues like the one in play a good example.

Adults are responsible for their own actions.

  6. …in the interim, it might be said that we are giving air to the very worst speculation?

  7. Ange has been given the job to Protect Celtic and All his players.

Seems like the vile SMSM are going in early.

  8. Melbourne Mick on

Hello again all you young rebels.

Very early days in Ange’s reign, but I’m liking the movement, commitment

quick interpassing of the young bhoys.

Think we have a couple of gems in the big lhad Shaw and wee Moffat, Jinky 2 ?

A bit unfair to compare him with the best player in the world in my lifetime

but we’ve had two Yogi’s so maybe the comparison will inspire him ?

    I live in hope.

Now what will Ange do with the wantaways?.

    H.H. Mick

Interesting line up next game I’m thinking

  9. Melbourne Mick,

    I agree.

1 thing before I go. Ange has imitated that if you dinnae want to be at Celtic then Go, for petes sake :)

Edouard is World Class and hist attitude stunk last Season.

If our sellon % is so high then keep him. He might notice Olivier is Flatlining because of a (I could be wrong) shocking attitude.

  10. Melbourne Mick on

    PETEC

I’m a very forgiving person, players make mistakes, just

like all human beings, if he buckles down I’d keep Eddie.

But I never realised we had so many promising youngsters,

but we know why don’t we?

  11. Reading that at England penalty, Sterling took the ball towards the penalty area past another ball on the pitch. Game should have stopped at that point. Also, when Schmeical saved the pen he had a laser pointer shining in his eyes. Include the dive and that’s 3 reasons why that goal shouldn’t count

Italy v England it is, can the Italians overcome England being a good lucky team with home advantage ? will be a fascinating game, Italian know-how to shade it for me

Ange had a bounce game yesterday giving everybody an opportunity, Ange having been portrayed by the new CEO as a builder will know that’s just a single brick in the wall yesterday, however, a wins a win

  18. What allegedly happened with Griff and the girl is every parents worst nightmare in the age of the internet. I wish them well.

Dom McKay will ascertain the facts and act to protect the Club.

The debate on Griff will be at an end once the Club completes its own investigation.

  19. I’d also add that ‘investigation’ is probably over stating this – it’s a very simple question and a very simple answer. I would assume he hasn’t been sent home without the matter being put to him initially. We’ll be speaking to an employment solicitor today and will act after that consultation I would hope. Act swiftly, Dom.

Thanks for posting the Michael Sheen clip – absolutely superb oratory. Oh for such a figure in Scotia. Enjoy your day oot walking.

  21. 31003 – I was starting to wonder if I had imagined that second ball on the pitch, near the corner flag where Sterling was running into the penalty area, given the seemingly total media blackout on the subject (including the “impartial” state broadcaster, the BBC). Wouldn’t be surprised to find it carefully airbrushed from the replay.

  22. Good morning from a dry and sunny North Staffs

Sons of Erin – you can find a replay if the incident on the BBC website – looks like a balloon to me.

It’s been reported that after the tournament Kane and Sterling are flying out to Tokyo to represent the UK in the synchronised diving.

    The truth will out.

My only observation on the LG situ at this point

BBC’s football home page ran this as the top domestic football (UK wide) story last night …

That tells me something about the motivations and intent of BBC Sport Scotland.

  24. So some are proposing a Bank holiday on Monday – I’m sure it will apply to the entire UK.

It’s already one in NI -;we could all dress up in crinoline and march up and down outside Catholic churches.

  25. Bhoyjoebelfast on

    GENE:

Once upon a time ‘they’ were able to march /walk /parade/dander at an area of their choosing, with the ‘police’ alongside them. Then all hell broke loose and the people who had to put up with this nonsense were told to take a back seat,as a new generation emerged. The so called ‘culture’ marches were no longer tolerated and where, once ‘they’, strutted their stuff, came to an end.Ormeau,Springfield,Garvaghy,Dunloy etc were having no more and ‘they’ were livid.Tough luck on ‘them.

  26. Don’t know if anyone else took note but I thought no 61 otoo looked a player . Where did he come from .

  27. But, despite being an activitist, he says he has no interest in becoming a politician.

“When you’re part of an actual political party, then you have to toe that line, don’t you?

Matthew Rhys won an Emmy and credited his childhood in Wales

“You can see the nightmare that people are having at the moment, with having to tie themselves into knots to stick to their own party’s line, leaving their party… I have much more freedom, I don’t need to get votes, I don’t need to ask other people for money, so why would I give that up?

“I think it’s fairly clear what my political leanings are… I want people to have a fairer deal, I want there to be more equality, I want there to be greater access to opportunity for people who come from the sort of communities that I come from.

“If there’s a political party that are trying to do the same sort of things, well, great, but I don’t need to join them.”

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Is he suggesting that ALL political parties are cults?

  28. SCULLYBHOY on 8TH JULY 2021 10:15 AM

A political party that forbids its elected representatives to criticise or challenge party policy is a cult.

Name me one SNP politician who has uttered a word of criticism of their Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012.

    Jimtim …

Yip when I saw young Ewan Otoo in the team I had to go back and check his DOB

    He’s 18 ( I actually thought he was younger).

He was on loan to Clyde last year.

Was impressed by him yesterday – looked composed in that company
