Sine die Murray for Rangers lying and cheating

953

“The appeal is dismissed.” With those words at the Supreme Court in London at 9:52 this morning, Rangers tax cheating was established as fact. The charlatans who manipulated Scottish football fans were shown to be the disgrace they are.

Rangers made unlawful payments, totalling many millions of pounds, to footballers, who, by the club’s own admission in court, they would have been unable to recruit if they had to pay tax and National Insurance contributions for.

They lied to HMRC.

They also hid documents from HMRC, which only came to light during a City of London Police raid on Ibrox.

They hid documents from the SPL and SFA, failing to honestly register dozens of players.

They cheated the tax man.

They cheated the welfare state, the NHS, the police, councils, schools. They cheated the Army and other services.

The SPL’s (now called Scottish Professional Football League) Commission into these matters must now be set aside. It was conducted on the assumption that Rangers acted legally. Lord Nimmo Smith was clear that his conclusions were predicated on this point.  A fresh commission is required, we cannot just allow the biggest cheats in British sporting history wander off into the distance.

The SFA has failed to call Sir David Murray to account, or the other directors of Rangers, who had explicit responsibility to ensure the club acted within the laws of the land and within the rules of football, both of which it failed to do.

Murray should be sine died. God knows, I cherish every moment Dave King controls things at Ibrox, but he was a director of Rangers with legal responsibility for its actions. They should all be censured.

As a shareholder and season ticket holder that’s exactly what I intend doing. I’m not much of letter writer but Celtic will be receiving a registered letter from me demanding action now that cheating on an industrial scale has be unequivocally confirmed by the supreme court.

I would also hope that fans of other clubs who were cheated of honours during the EBT years will voice similar concerns to their clubs.

Titles must be removed or it wont bode well for Scottish football.

How can games be won “fairly” on the park when many of those playing were there by dint of cheating, and therefore unfairly?

Somehow the shame of Rangers is now being sheeted home to demanding action from the Celtic Board.

Yes Mr hun there will be, you can be certain of that.

  19. If titles aren’t stripped then this will go down as our saddest day – the day when cheating was finally confirmed by the highest court in the land and nothing was done about it.

    Hope I’m wrong

Btw,it was a 2-2 draw on the tax case. Hector won on away goals.

One last night would have seen Pedro sleep easily for a bit.

Naw,gubbed baith times, and I genuinely don’t know which to celebrate more.

The one that totally pisses me off,or the one that had me pissing myself laughing.

I’ll go for the former. That was a level of cheating which damned near destroyed us,caused schisms in our support, wrecked careers.

For me,that’s why the board need to act on this.

Last night was a sideshow, and that’s all they’ll ever be now.

Justice? Justice for the years of cheating, being laughed at,being systematically destroyed with the help of financial institutions, the football authorities who are in place-supposedly-to prevent it,the press who lapped it up and made a good soup-slurping living from it?

Naw. I would prefer vengeance. Vengeance for those who were cheated whether they played for us or other cheated clubs

Vengeance for the people who stuck their neck out,RTC,for instance. The Res 12 lads-who have had their identity splashed on every hun site

BARCABHOY and everyone else-btw,I’ll add Graham Spiers for his stuff in 2004 which cost him his job when Murray told the hoards to boycott the herald-for putting snippets in which allowed us to join the dots.

    Et al,too many to mention.

But that’s just me. I don’t bear grudges.

Anyone know how Dave King’s plan to pay off the creditors and bring the old club out of liquidation is coming along…..?

    ——–

Coming along nicely, only £170m needed now. After that it’s good to go.

  23. Silly question, does this mean the players and recipients of the EBT’s will now have to pay the tax owed?

Cos thats what HMRC wants isnt it?

  24. Delighted with the result of the SC today, there is now no hiding place for any person involved in this and they all need to be removed from any position in football administration.

I agree with the life time ban for Murray, but it involves more including Ogilivie who is at UEFa.

I was always troubled by the way referees were on side with them when we got competitive, I always wondered if they were on the payoll in some way it would not surprise me, maybe someone will start singing.

The media and the control over it will step up a gear as Jabba earns his coin, remeber Manchester has disappeared,

Celtic cannot ignore this judgement nor can Scottish football, everyone who went to a game has been cheated by Rangers 1872-2012. If this is attempted and allowed to happen the game is finished.

I would love charges to be brought because the deception the letters etc indicate serious intent that goes beyond adminstartive errors.

Trophies won in cups I would asterisk as you dont know who would win knock out competitions, leagues go to the second place club.

Recompense for the above would need to be negotiated with a new professional body to run the game, scrap the governing bodies and start again. Regan Doncaster Bryson immediately pick up your P45’s

Replace the committees and let them keep their blazers then tell them they are no longer needed, goodbye.

This is not an exhaustive list and I know many Celtic fans who have not lived to see this day, I’m thinking of them, I hope they are pleased today. We cannot let this chance pass us by, they are proven at the highest court in the land to have cheated, and cheated everyone who paid into a match thinking it was sport.

The road to hell is paved with………. ?

  26. Can anyone Clear this up ?

BBC states “In a strange twist, those individuals who were in receipt of an EBT may well benefit financially from a win for the tax man. A defeat for Rangers in liquidation would put the onus of liability on the company, and in this case, the liquidators.

A win for BDO would move the onus of responsibility to the individuals. Legislation in the draft finance bill means those in receipt of EBT loans from April 1999 onwards, must pay PAYE on them after 2019 if they have not settled with the tax man.”

So doz McCann, Smith et al get away with this ??

Always thought YOU personally are responsible for your tax business

3 Questions if anyone can answer please ..

    1) What is the likely timescale for BDO to finalise everything ..

    2) Based on today’s ruling, what is the total amount now owed ..

    3) Has every single EBT recipient, now been identified ..

    Thanks in advance ..
