Six Celtic fans

1375

As six Celtic fans face the prospect of months in a Dutch jail if police evidence is preferred, take a look at this CCTV video from the Euro Pub in Dam Square:

This is no more than the strong bullying the vulnerable.  It is shocking and affected more than just Celtic fans, other innocent bystanders were picked on.

What can you do about it?  We’re looking for around 40 more bucketeers to collect before the Aberdeen game on Saturday for the legal defence of the six Celtic fans.  You’ll need to get to the stadium a bit early, bucket shaking will be required.  That’s all.

If you can help, email dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk for more information. You’ll enjoy it.

Thank you.

Remember the Q&A in the Columba Club, Blantyre, tomorrow. I’ll be there with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville. Tickets available at the door, we get underway at 8pm. See you there.

If you have not been to Celtic Park since the last home game, be prepared for pandemonium around London Road on Saturday. No one will be able to walk or drive from London Road up Kerrydale Street to the Park. Check out the open routes here and get there early.

  7. hebcelt,

I’ve met Kev, it was at a Q&A in Blantyre, he is a genuine celtic man.

    Or maybe… A double agent!

Seriously, although I don’t agree with a lot of his points, I’m sure he has his own outlook on the way he sees Celtic should be run …fair play to him.

  8. kevjungle- did you see the Great Desmondo has taken up an option in shares placement from Independent News and Media, at 7c each, current trading price is 13c and climbing rapidly.

    Nice work.

  9. I was intrigued by the document Henr1k linked at the end of the last thread outlining the original aims of The Rangers Football Club when established. I note the limited company was formed on the fateful date of 25th May 1899.

A wee extract from their memorandum of association:-

    3) The objects for which the Company is established are:-

    1) To take over and acquire, for the purposes of carrying on a Football Club….

    2) To promote the practice of Football, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Hockey, Bowls……and exercises of every description…..other games, pastimes, sports, assaults-at-arms (an early predictor of Lee McCullough)

    3) To carry on the business of Restaurant Keepers, Wine and Spirit Merchants

    4) To acquire money by gift or subscription, and to distribute the same in or about the furtherance of all or any objects of the Company. Hereinafter referred to as The Referee Money

    5) To join in and promote competitions…. for the benefit of charities or other like objects

    6) To improve, amend, establish, or alter the rules regulating any or all of the sports and pastimes above… I think we can put a tick against this objective being achieved

  10. If we ended up in the Europa league I wouldn’t be too gutted. I think we could make a good run at it this year.

Teams like Spurs and Fiorentina are to be respected but there are a lot of beatable teams who look like they will qualify for the next round

Now, some good news to pass on. Bobby Lennox, who recently had surgery on his heart, is recovering well and expected to be home in a couple of days. Thats what we wanted to hear. All the best to him.

Their are times when a family is trying to help one another in a time of need that it is advisable to keep personal opinions on hold for a while .

I know how you feel and you are perfectly entitled to your opinions mate but there are times when we need to take a step back and let other family members get on with helping our brothers in need without asking ,Whits he putting in? whit is he doing?

This is about 6 brothers lying in a foriegn prison cell (IMHO) wrongly arrested.

  16. I understand kev is a Celt, and he has his own way of looking at things and I have always looked at his posts with a whimsical indulgence. However at this stage his charm is wearing thin with me. With 2 Celts languishing in a Dutch prison and with others recovering from injuries and facing prosecution, for the crime of supporting Celtic, we do not need cynics using this cause to have a snipe at the Board. Well done to all who posted links, to those who are organising the collections and to all who have and who plan to contribute. If the phrase You’ll Never Walk Alone is ever to have a meaning, then the lads in Amsterdam must be supported to the hilt, Hail Hail.

    Fiorentina ?

A better team than AC Milan ..

    5th in Serie A , 11 points above 10th place Milan.

Fiorentina have a goal difference of 10, AC Milan have a goal difference of – 2..

Fiorentina beat Milan 2-0 @ the San Siro in early November.

AC Milan got 3rd place [ and a play off spot in this season’s Champions league ] in last season’s Serie A courtesy of some ” honest mistakes ” which favoured Milan to Fiorentina’s detriment

  20. Good news RE: Bobby the buzzbomb, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of in the number 7.

I felt overawed in his company and could only mutter…I read your book and loved how you described how the low hard cross into the six yard box is the most dangerous ball.

Dixie piped in… Have ye no read ma book?

  22. Had a wee Medical Problem over last couple of days, nothing too serious just my blood pressure levels suddenly soared into stratospheric territory for no apparent reason. A couple of days ago the Doc said he would have to ground me for a period, meaning I wouldn’t be able to go to Milan game, I didn’t mind the Doc telling me that but I was rather peeved when he told Mrs. corkcelt. Anyhow the good news is that I had an appointment this morning, whilst still high, blood pressure is down from the emergency levels and I have the all clear to travel to Glasgow next Tuesday. Woo Hoo.

I’m sure you’ll have had replies by now but just in case not remember that trading costs will be important for you also. Sippdeal ( sippdeal.co.uk) offer a minimum of £25.00 per month and trades at £1.50so might be worth a look. I think Motley Fool (fool.co.uk) are similar.

Sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Prayers said for the repose of his soul and those that remain.

My old Dad knew Pat and introduced me to him when I was a bhoy.

I remember taking my two nephews to a game and parked in front of the stadium.

If I remember correctly it was Charlie Nic’s first team debut, against Ayr United, in the Dryburgh or some other wee cup.

Anyway locked myself out of the car before the game!!

I approached the main entrance and explained my dilemma to Pat. (this was long before mobile phones)

He took me inside the the main entrance hall, found me a phone and left me to it!

What an experience! Players and management walking up and down the place while I phoned home for somebody to bring my spare key!

I think we won 1-0 too and CN played great. What a day!

    Thanks for the memory Pat.
