SOLITARY CELT McGREGOR

0

CALLUM McGREGOR is the solitary Celtic player in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the upcoming Euro 24 qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain at Hampden.

The Hoops captain has been called up, but Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston and David Turnbull have been overlooked while James Forrest is injured.

McGregor is expected to win his 50th cap in the opening game against the Cypriots.

There are FOUR ex-Parkhead stars in the pool – Jack Hendry, Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong and Ryan Christie.

The Scots kick off their qualifying campaign against Cyprus a week on Saturday before hosting the Spanish aces three days later.

Goalkeeper Angus Gunn has been named in the 23-man squad for his first Scotland call-up.
