  1. Today’s starting line up v Sparta ……

Bain; ElHamed, Jullien, Ajer, Laxalt, Brown, McGregor, Christie, Ntcham, Elyounoussi, Edouard

Subs: Barkas, Hazard, Taylor, Bitton, Duffy, Ajeti, Klimala, Rogic, Henderson, Frimpong,

  2. Pleased to have the 2 big CHs back together, Eddie up top and Frimpong dropped for big Tam.

However, Brown, McGregor, Ntcham hasn’t worked, Christie’s not a RW and Edouard & Elyounoussi don’t have a partnership and play in same spaces.

But they are no Lille, so don’t expect a need for that defensive performance and we should be on the front foot, doing things I have seen no evidence of since the start of the season if the words come to fruition.

    Here’s hoping csc.

  3. Better looking side with the exception of Ntcham’s inevitable return for the Euro window.

I really don’t want to fall out with anyone on here, after all we all want the same thing!

Maybe Nitcham in Brown’s place with Tom in the number 10.

No choice but to play Christie and Elyanoussi; there are no other options to play in those positions.

Remember Brendan Rogers saying ‘we have hundreds of wingers’.

    What happened?

I’ve fallen out wi’ a few on here!

Are Big Tam and Laxalt not our wide men in this system? If so, get good footballers (and we have a few) to play close to each other in attack and defence.

  9. OK players.

Let’s see your recent talk put into action.

Play to win and no excuses.

    HH & COYBIG.

  10. Big Wavy you would think they’d be the width. I don’t mind Calmac roaming(as he has the football brain to do it imho) and does link with well with Laxalt. And agree i would like them close and more compact, but, i fear Mo and Eddie will be miles apart and Mo out wide left.

Hoping for the best, good luck Celtic, please battle from the first to the last kick.

I was agreeing with your post!

  12. Hi and Help,

I can only ever see the first page of updates and then when it moves to pages 2, 3, 4 etc I can only view 1 or 2 posts. Any advice? Is this a common problem?

  13. Martim1980.

I would let them come at us and hit them on the break tonight. Plenty of pace upfield and I feel we are a bit more secure with that 4 at the back.

  14. Very strong looking team – if we get beat it will be back once again to the drawing board😐

  15. Cool hand look try changing to mobile site or desktop (whichever it isn’t) usually you may see other pages. Usually on the bottom of you phone scree internet/google/ etc options

I’ll be interested to see what ‘getting behind the manager’ means in action . Presumably at least some of them were not behind him previously. Not sure if it’s something you can switch on and off .

  17. Very strong looking team on paper and the Hoops certainly owe the Czechs one after that ambush in Celtic Park. Spartak did not as we expected park the bus but were in Celtic’s faces from the word go. We have to make sure Julis is watched and Karlsson, the former Kilmarnock man does not take us on a merry dance as he did at Celtic Park. Important to do well in Europe and Neil and the team will always have our backing and as the golfing yanks would say Neil You’re The Man.

I find that sometimes. When I log in I get a better experience than when I just lurk.

Not very comprehensive but try that hypothesis…

  19. Can I be the first to slag off Jamesie ?

He’s been invisible in the last 10 games or so.

  20. Big Wavy yeah worked previously, and with, dare I say it, more comfortable defenders we could be more suited to that.

That said, love to dominate and play them off the park HH

Could you try signing out and then signing in again ? That worked for me last time it happenend.

  22. Whats important is the performance. I have been disappointed in this and I believe this has affected the belief of the support. Forget Sevco. It’s about our performance.

High Tempo, High press and hard work. If Eddy has to play an hour then he should leave it on the pitch. Compete every ball, headers, 2nd balls. Get the work in. Effort, urgency and support your team.

  23. First of all thank you for the kind comments from last night’s post. When I pen items like this it’s as much for me, as a form of therapy, as it is for information for the blog.

So I’m slipping this in before ko and no I won’t be behind the couch, I as a 15 year old stood on the terracing in the coldest winter on record in the UK watching our team get gubbed by deidco in Paddy Crerand’s last game.

Walked tae the subway, still with my scarf on, where they were singing and dancing and even playing flutes.

One thing I missed is that the support back then wisnae passive, far from it, in fact there were many demonstrations especially after games, even though the crowds were meagre, calling for the removal, and that’s being kind, of Bob Kelly.

There was one big supporter who used tae stand at the corner of the Celtic end and stand/enclosure waving a noose shouting “Bob Kelly this is for you”, the “mars bar game” had nothing on our fans back then.

There was also talk of a group of Glasgow business mhnen, including a prominent lawyer, forming another Celtic side, that’s how serious it had become.

I have often said history and the Big Mhan have been kind tae Sir Bob but give him his due he did step aside and let the latter day Christ get on with it, he actually also financially supported him.
