  1. Sammy not up to pace of the game…yet.

Overall good 1st half performance, however we can pass better.

NL & the players know this game is here for the taking.

    Mon the Celts,

GourockEmerald just been barred from Gourock golf club for being anti Russian

Did you do a funny song with the pussys and have a riot ???

  3. Very mature performance so far. Defending excellently until the equaliser (which was a peach btw) and we’re coping well imo.

Sammy started very casual and he’s not really snapped out of it yet apart from the ball for hooper’s offside effort.

I expect more of the same in the 2nd half. Lots of Spartak pressure and some real opportunities for us to hopefully exploit in their final third.

    C’mon Celtic!!!

I totally agree, the ref is a plonker, where do they get them from?

  5. Two goals of real quality in the first half.

Ye we can pick faults but pre ko I’d have taken 1-1 at half time.

Lustig, Brown and Commons have really impressed and if we can get the ball out wide we could well have that elusive first victory.

    refs a fud

one or 2 giving the ball away to easy. but more composure on the ball and we can do this lot.

Unfortunatley their goal was well taken, one touch football is hard to defend against and to that point Wilson doing well, if anything Ambrose could have made more of a quicker, sharper challenge.

In Saudi Arabia they had a principle that said that you as an alien are always at fault cause you should not be in their country,,,,,,,,and so to Sammi ,,,,,,,,,if he had not been so sloppy , twice, the ball may never have been up at our goal area……..ah these principles !!!

    Doing fine Celtic,,,,,,,concentrate .

Provan, great player…..dobber of a pundit.

are they no showing us the pen decision again….looked like a stonewaller to me.

  10. Hard to see how the second half will go, but I must say, we’ve got enough to win it if luck goes our way. And I would definitely fancy our chances back at CP.

  11. StumptownBhoy-(ex-SanDiegoBhoy)For_wee_Oscar on

Can some of you calm down please?

Our youngsters are 1-1 AWAY to a Moscow team that have spent a FORTUNE on their squad. All of this is playing on an artificial surface.

One solution to Provan and the rest: turn them off.

  12. Good to see many on here can recognise a good goal when they see one ( I haven`t seen it yet!). Funny how when Hoops scored it was a great goal but when they score, we must have someone to criticise. Not only refs who lack consistency.

    Come on the `tic!!!

  13. Good result so far. Great goal by hoops, bit of slack defending with theirs. Big Sammie clearly not at the races. I would swap him for Joe or Beram to stiffen up the midfield. Too many stray passes.

Think they are vulnerable at the back and can be picked off on the break if we hold the ball better and pick our passes I think we could nick one. Our goal showed that.

  14. I think we are doing really well when you consider the difference in financials and the fact we’re playing in Moscow on a plastic pitch in the Champions league. It’s great to even be where we are.

    Cmon the hoops!

Could do with getting samaras off. Isn’t on his game. Didn’t try to beat the defender when in a great position b4 their goal & has gave ball away all night

  18. to be fair to sammi every time he gets the ball there are 3 round him -as the game stretches in the 2nd half I am sure he will improve, and he only needs to be lucky once

  19. Can understand why Sammi was rushed back for this game but it hasn’t worked so far. Give him 15 mins and if no improvement bring on Forrest, his pace will create problems for them. Ledley for Mulgrew to try to get some possession in midfield.

  20. offside was borderline ref garbage change izzy move charlie to left back joe ledley in l side midfield

  22. Hooper having a great game, if we can feed him good ball he will score again. Terrible pity he went too soon for the second cross, I was certain we were 2 up. Hard to blame Kelvin too much for equaliser, it was a superb through ball. I commented earlier that they were trying to play this ball a lot. Its obviously something they major on.Overall a good 1st half we have shown the world we are not out of place at this level.

  23. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

One mild criticism …we are really poor in the penalty department. When to go down and how not to put them away. Please stop one or the other at least.

  24. I am Neil Lennon e El Juarez Bravo on

I’d keep Sammi on. He’s struggling with the pitch but his cross for the offside goal was sublime. We also need his height for set pieces in both boxes.

Forrest still has a lot to prove at this level.

  25. Murdochbhoy, yermanfromMK on

Great goal from Hooper and he moved a split second too early otherwise it would have been 2 -1. The Spartak goal came at the worst possible time.

Although we’ve only had about 35% of the possession they haven’t really threatened but we need to keep it tight and subdue them again, and to do that we really need to improve ball retention in the second half.

The referee is a concern as he’s already booked Charlie for a nothing tackle and he looks a bit card happy.

  26. Provan? Singer of Simply the Best at Kilmcaolm Golf Club. Told him to his face regretted attending his testimonial. No surprise at how he seldom favours Celtic as a pundit. Did you hear the silence after penalty claim replay? To Procan that means it was a pen but he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

  27. Strange game

We were poor for 5 minutes then very comfortable and could have scored 3. The lost a good goal to them.

Hoops goal could have been ruled out for Vic’s tackle as it is against the rule and was intimidating- but Lustig’s delivery, not for the first time, was top class.

Izzy and Sammi did great for the offside goal and Hoops was unlucky to be ruled just offside.

Commons had a strong claim for a pen as, though the defender touched the ball he then went on to bring Kris down- a pen in my opinion.

I don’t blame Kelvin for their goal- Ari’s touch was superb- but I thought Efe was slow on the turn to mark the scorer.

We are now back up against it and will need to survive a torrid spell. Kombarov and Kallstrom drifting left worry me.

Our best bet is our counter attacking with Commons, Hooper and Sammi all contributing.

Ledley to replace the booked Charlie for the last 30 minutes. Forrest to replace Kris or Sammi for the last 15 to 20 mins
