Spartak sack manager Emeri after derby defeat

871

Spartak Moscow today sacked manager Unai Emeri after a 1-5 home league defeat against eight placed Dinamo Moscow.  Spartak are confirmed as bottom of Celtic’s Champions League group before they head to Celtic Park for the final game on 5 December.

Emeri has been increasingly unpopular since taking over earlier this year when his spell at Valencia ended, while rumours of dissent in the dressing room were never far away.  I had hoped he would remain in place for the visit to Glasgow but there will be a new man in charge by then.

A group of around 200 supporters demonstrated after the game, many chanting for the foreign players to ‘Go home’.

Gave up reading at this point ……. I am not of the belief that the MSM is an instinctively pro-Rangers estate

If he genuinely believes that then he is not worth reading. If its a bloggers rouse to get more readers then it reeks of Old Firm

  4. Lennybhoy-Thanks ,I didn’t think you could but as we seen last week, strange things can happen.HH

  5. As a long time lurker and fairly new time poster, I am surprised that so many of the Posters here appear to know each other quite well. It adds a strange dimension to a football blog. Its a great site and when Celtic are going well everyone is singing from the same hymnsheet, but when we hit a sticky patch the divisions appear. Is it just me or is there an age divide. The older lads here, of whom I most definitely include myself, tend to adopt the win, lose or draw mantra whilst the younger lads are more critical & demanding. Not sure if that is a fair generalisation but since the ICT match its the impression I am getting.

  6. Raheem Sterling shows plenty of promise as a young footballer, but he should not be getting a regular start for Liverpool

And what was Brendan Rodgers thinking paying £15m for Joe Allen? Dearie, dearie me

I agree, I thought i was seeing things, but I like the site when they have a bone to chew on.

  11. PFayr, Jaysus lad thats a quare one to throw at us, I thought at first you were talking about us having bad chest coughs from smoking Woodbines. That part might be true but not too sure about the emotional bit. If ye came accross any of us after the Barca game you might think again.

The name suggests like myself you’re from the green and misty isle and I agree with your sentiments.

  13. Why does Suarez take corner kicks ? Henry done it at Arsenal too, don’t understand why your best chance of a goal is 30 yards away from the action inside the opposition box.

  14. Mate just phoned and asked if I wanted to go to his and watch the EPL fitba.

    I really cant be bothered.

Mickiebhoy1888 had a similar go at the age demographic of this blog a couple of weeks ago. Suffice to say that his belief is this blog gets it contributions from those folks in Gods waiting room and is sponsored by SAGA.

It is indeed a very quirky place, CQN. I love it here. I’ve never met most of the people who post on here, yet I count them as friends. How bizarre? Yet, I’ve had great support on here, had the most grown-up arguments I can remember, learned much about all things Celtic, and much more besides.

I was also sorted out with a ticket for the Barça game by one of the CQN brethern.

It’s not surprising that a lot of people know each other here : even with an international pedigree, Celtic is still a local team. Also, it takes personal knowledge to organise some of the brilliant things CQN is responsible for, the Oscar Knox campaign being the most high profile.

I also think family memories communicate here, too. I know I do.

And the demographic is so very diverse. All age groups, all shapes and sizes, all outlooks.

Yet, all Celtic mad, all Tims….well, nearly all. All over the world, all over the show!

Yeah, it’s good here. (It also enables me to rave on without driving the mrs. crazy!)

    HH!

A bit drastic, but rules is rules.

Embdy think the SPL will adopt the same attitude to broken rules to the Teddy Bears, the Badgers, the Taxus Raingers?

    Nah, me neither…
