Speak his name in hushed tones

1566

For three months a charade took place, where Craig Whyte – who is and will remain owner of Rangers until they are finally ‘flushed away’, Duff and Phelps, The Blue Knight(s), Bill Miller, Charles Green, several members of the accountancy profession who should have known better, and some of the Fourth Estate, who clearly didn’t know better, all told you Rangers were likely to achieve a CVA.

As we (and several others) told you, a CVA was never, ever, going to be accepted by HMRC.  A cursory glance at the HMRC web site would confirm that.  Once Alex Salmond had his wings clipped, that debate was over.

The charade was a distraction.  There are many other distractions available today and they will multiply in the days to come, but I reckon if you’re looking for the critical path on this one you should keep an eye on Lord Carloway.  The chair of the SFA Appellate Panel is worth listening out for.  Say his name in hushed tones, better still, abbreviate.  Even the mention of LC will cause anxiety and distress, for some.

  1. My Dear,Dear O.G.Rafferty @15:56…

An interesting article on Al Jazeera…?

    Not really…..

Just another example of how the ‘Green Brigade’ can cause embarrassment and division within the Celtic Family, with their ill-conceived and contentious ‘political’ stances….as was the case with the notorious “Poppy Debacle”.

If they continue along this line, they will rapidly come to be viewed as a “Permanent Embarrassment and an Occasional Disgrace”,the length and breadth of these Sceptred Isles…

My advice to them….? Leave Politics Out Of Football….

Apply the Litmus Test…Imagine that Dear Brother Walfrid was still with us today, with the accumulated wisdom of eight-score years and ten…..

Ask yourself…” Just what would The Great Man have made of it All..”.

And this should keep them on the ‘Straight and Narrow”….

    Right,Virginia..? Right !!

  2. BBC are reporting……. I know I know, that Jaaskelainen is going to sign for West Ham, hopefully that narrows big FF options.

In the light of the above posts sorry for bringing politics into it, but some people have previously posted about Mahmud Sarsak, the Palesinian footballer on hunger strike. It’s being reported here that FIFA have asked Israel to release him and there is hope that he will agree to end his strike tomorrow by allowing midical staff to administer ‘milk and other fluids’ while he awaits a judicial review.

I’m only posting because so far I haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere.

  6. I’m gonnae be generous coz it’s that kinda day….maybe the mibs’ll learn somethin’ havin’ a game or two to ref as honestly as thae compromised muppets can. Specially as now there’ll be no rfc(deid) to suck up tae.

  8. All of the Rangers apologists know that Rangers ‘die’ with liquidation yet they still spout the nonsense that any newco will be a continuation of Rangers(RIP) and will retain the history of the dead parrot

The Celtic support always have, & always should, be on the side of oppressed minorities.

We, who have suffered similar abuse, should never turn a blind eye to the Palestinians, or any other victims of oppression.

Let us support persecuted people everywhere.

    THAT is the Celtic ethos.

    God Bless the Green Brigade.

Cadogan St has taken over from Lourdes as there has been more miracle cures there in the last year than in France…

  15. Regarding craig thomson being a dallas mini-me.

Im sure I read an interview awhile back when a ref, think it was thomson, said that dallas wanted them to run in a certain way, ie hold the head up, straight back, elbows up by the side.

Hence why ct, gollum, etc all actually resemble dallas.

    Not just with the cheating.

I always refered to dallas as a ‘ TV ref’. The way this disgrace of a man played upto the TV was sickening. Over emphasising his words and actions. The best example was not the cheating Mahe game but the Larsson CIS cup final v killie in MON’s treble season.

Freddie Dindelaux should have been sent off 5 or 6 times that day but was allowed to be subbed around the 70th min, big Chris’s 1st clumsy tackle was a straight red.

    Dallas = cheat.

  17. I finally went on a rant(*) in work today after someone said ‘yeah but for the good of Scottish football’….. It was sweet.

  18. This site is all about opinions, correct? With that established may I just say that, in terms of our current Scottish referees, I don’t mind Craig Thompson.

    Jobo

  19. Kilbowie Kelt, I agree with your excellent post above.

Just back from holiday today and devoured three volumes of the Celtic Minded books which I had never got round to. Many, many essays echo your views earlier. Just when you think you understand the many facets to our club, more stories, more great people just take you by surprise.

You cannot separate Celtic FC from social justice and politics and we should not try to do so. The club is not defined by these matters but we have something to say on them by virtue of our history and action.
