Speak his name in hushed tones

1566

For three months a charade took place, where Craig Whyte – who is and will remain owner of Rangers until they are finally ‘flushed away’, Duff and Phelps, The Blue Knight(s), Bill Miller, Charles Green, several members of the accountancy profession who should have known better, and some of the Fourth Estate, who clearly didn’t know better, all told you Rangers were likely to achieve a CVA.

As we (and several others) told you, a CVA was never, ever, going to be accepted by HMRC.  A cursory glance at the HMRC web site would confirm that.  Once Alex Salmond had his wings clipped, that debate was over.

The charade was a distraction.  There are many other distractions available today and they will multiply in the days to come, but I reckon if you’re looking for the critical path on this one you should keep an eye on Lord Carloway.  The chair of the SFA Appellate Panel is worth listening out for.  Say his name in hushed tones, better still, abbreviate.  Even the mention of LC will cause anxiety and distress, for some.

I could light a lantern on the beach. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of these lanterns for real – do they go high? What I mean is, I live quite near an airport. Will I get into bother?:)

Interesting points. Surely RFC(IL) cannot have a vote on whether they are allowed to stay in the SPL!!! Would that not be like giving a convicted man a seat on a jury?

I say convicted because there is no doubt of their guilt.

    Hot news….

Last gasp effort to save Rangers* from going into liquidation. David Gold of West Ham has intimated he will intervene. Financial experts suggest that the combined eforts of Greene, Whyte & Gold might be the answer.

Nearly double that figure in your post and you are closer to the real sum

For what it’s worth, Celtic would easily pay FF £18k a week

They know what he will be worth in a few years time

    ————————————————————————————————————

a few years ago, on an autumn night, I was at the backdoor when i noticed a glow in the sky.

orange, but miles away, just a speck in the distance.

i stood mesmired for quite a while trying to work it out.

when it got overhead, quite high in the sky , i could see the flicker of a flame, it passed over , it was interesting to watch.

Now on friday night, if we can release them all at the sametime, I think the effect could be wonderful.

Many posters have spoken about those who passed who would be smiling at the events we are living through. Maybe for some letting go th elantern can be in memory of the Bhoys who gave them their Celtic.

For others it might be a celebration that something is bad is no more.

    I just hope it happens.

I’m sorry to hear your sad news and I’m sure your dad will always be walking with you. As someone else suggested earlier, complete your plans, go to game as you had spoke about and I’m sure you’ll feel his presence.

So the guy goes from his appeal to sellin’ the Big Issue- win/lose/not proven?

  12. Just so we’re all aware of what’s going on in UKplc:

“How sick do you need to be before the DWP will admit that you are probably never going to work again?

Very sick indeed if your kidneys are failing, as two recent decisions show with brutal clarity.

Paul Mickleburgh, one of the world’s longest surviving kidney dialysis patients is hooked up to a dialysis machine for five hours, three days a week.  He’s also had cancer and pneumonia and  suffers from spontaneous internal bleeding, brittle bones a twisted bowel and agonising joint pains as a result of his renal treatment.  He’s had four failed kidney donations.

To top it all off, Paul has had 14 heart attacks in the last five years and believes his last attack was caused in part by the stress of trying to deal with the DWP.  Sadly, patients with chronic kidney disease are actually more likely to die from associated heart disease than from kidney failure itself.

In spite of this, Paul has been placed in the work-related activity group,(external link) meaning that he is someone who is expected to return to the workplace in the reasonably near future.  Paul’s request for this dreadful decision to be looked at again came back with the same result – he should be moving towards a return to work.

We hope that Paul is now appealing . . . and that his heart will stand the stress.

More desperate still is the story of Karen Sherlock, a disability activist connected to the Spartacus campaign, whose kidneys were failing and who was waiting to be put on dialysis.  In spite of her very serious condition, Karen was placed in the work-related activity group, meaning that her benefit would soon stop altogether because of the time limit on contribution-based ESA.

Karen spent many months fighting that decision.  Two weeks ago she finally won her exhausting battle with the DWP and was placed in the support group.

This week she died of a heart attack.”

    According to a fellow campaigner

“She was terrified. Beside herself with fear. She lived her last months desperately scared that her family would not survive the onslaught it faced.  . . . The system failed her and she spent her last precious moments in this world fighting. For herself, for her family and for others.”

Absolutely disgusting amount of money IMO, for a grossly over rated league.
