Speak his name in hushed tones

1566

For three months a charade took place, where Craig Whyte – who is and will remain owner of Rangers until they are finally ‘flushed away’, Duff and Phelps, The Blue Knight(s), Bill Miller, Charles Green, several members of the accountancy profession who should have known better, and some of the Fourth Estate, who clearly didn’t know better, all told you Rangers were likely to achieve a CVA.

As we (and several others) told you, a CVA was never, ever, going to be accepted by HMRC.  A cursory glance at the HMRC web site would confirm that.  Once Alex Salmond had his wings clipped, that debate was over.

The charade was a distraction.  There are many other distractions available today and they will multiply in the days to come, but I reckon if you’re looking for the critical path on this one you should keep an eye on Lord Carloway.  The chair of the SFA Appellate Panel is worth listening out for.  Say his name in hushed tones, better still, abbreviate.  Even the mention of LC will cause anxiety and distress, for some.

If the rumoured delay to the start of the season is mentioned at tomorrow’s meeting,it might be enough to sway the vote of teams who need money in asap.

I knew my post would give that appearance! The reality is that I am desperate for THEM to receive their just desserts and to disappear forever. Ideally, it would be because Scottish society had changed so much that their was no appetite for either that Club or its supporters and attendances had dwindled to an unsustainable level resulting in their disappearance. That, of course, has not happened and what is currently happening will, IMO, lead to more of the same (all the same ingredients are there) under a different guise. Am I really wrong? I would love someone to show me that I am.

  5. The 64 bus used to and maybe still does go to Auchenshugle. One way of course. I see they’re building a new resort-like development there, close to the Clyde. It has the working title Port Shugle, and they lead Denmark 1-0.

  11. Murray out in the first round at Queens, well outplayed and then thrashed in the tie-breaker. He’d normally win a tournie like this for fun so clearly well off his game.

Charlie Endell (Green) has not got a pot to p1ss in, BDO will be required to open up the bidding for the ground, training complex and what is left of the reserves and under -19s. Seems to me that there is not a snowball in hell’s chance of RIL playing football next year, as they have massive legal issues around ownership, which in turn makes the development of a sound business plan impossible at this stage. The SPL chairmen will have nothing to vote on, as no-one can supply finance now to make a business plan add-up.

A fan share scheme is the only option for RIL , however all previous Directors will be barred after the FTT reports, and no respectable businessman will want to be associated with the ribald doggerel that will come out of Ipox over the next months.

Best case scenario for RIL , start-up in Div 3 season 2013-14, my money is on a split emerging and a legal war over the ground which bizarrely may see them permanently finished. The decent Dignity fans do not have the nerve to take on the nutters so what will emerge is potentially 2 sets of nutters sqwabling over nowt.
