Speak his name in hushed tones

1566

For three months a charade took place, where Craig Whyte – who is and will remain owner of Rangers until they are finally ‘flushed away’, Duff and Phelps, The Blue Knight(s), Bill Miller, Charles Green, several members of the accountancy profession who should have known better, and some of the Fourth Estate, who clearly didn’t know better, all told you Rangers were likely to achieve a CVA.

As we (and several others) told you, a CVA was never, ever, going to be accepted by HMRC.  A cursory glance at the HMRC web site would confirm that.  Once Alex Salmond had his wings clipped, that debate was over.

The charade was a distraction.  There are many other distractions available today and they will multiply in the days to come, but I reckon if you’re looking for the critical path on this one you should keep an eye on Lord Carloway.  The chair of the SFA Appellate Panel is worth listening out for.  Say his name in hushed tones, better still, abbreviate.  Even the mention of LC will cause anxiety and distress, for some.

If thems do end up in the third division, does anyone else think that the bbc and the msm, will find a sudden interest in that league?

Aye, it will be the Brave New World of Scottish Football removed from all the commerciality and razzamatazz of the SPL, a down to earth game for everyman and his wife, where the kids can wander round the half empty freezing stadiums of the Boondock towns of Scotland…

    Count me in Jabba!!!

  5. In terms of the Sky deal worth £80m over next 5 years so £16m a season. BT have paid £6m/match in the EPL and some of those will not have great audiences.

What about selling SPL & SFL packages to both BBC & STV Scotland , also selling to BBC NI & UTV in Northern Ireland and either RTE/TV3/Setanta in the South of Ireland.

Packages to rest of UK by subscription, Aus, NZ, SA, USA, im in Abu Dhabi OSN showed games last year etc or create a Scottish Media company to run tv broadcasting & licencing. We can mitigate hugely the “loss” when they are sent to DIV3 for other spl clubs and by going back to 3pm saturday ko times.

What about paying for live streaming of games to laptop, mobile, ipad etc to fans overseas with new communication channels that haven’t been exploited fully or at all, how many hearts/hibs fans flew home for the final?. Time for new imaginative thinking i’m afraid

  6. I seem to remember reading one of Phil Mac’s column’s and, he said something along the lines of -” Celtic’s noisy neighbour’s will be doing a, disappearing act for anything between 9 months – 1 year as they will be investigated through the courts during that period. So padlocks & chains will be the watch words down ibrokes way!”

Does anyone remember Phil saying the above or similar ?

Phil has just posted a new blog( I can’t do the link) where he says that the Police are still investigating the Whyte takeover and the Strathclyde police have submitted a report to the Crown Office and have met with the PF.

Snake I could even see Killie losing their nerve at the last minute- once Johnston gets a whiff of the indignant atmosphere and sense of malaise towards the huns amongst other clubs- as they will not want peer alienation. He is patently a craven type anyway. There is real fury amongst nearly ALL of the other clubs and even Johnston will realise this when it smacks him in the face when he turns up at Hampden to vote.

The clubs are becoming rational now: This is their opportunity to expand, to realise certain ambitions, to achieve success, that would not have been possible with the huns strangling the possibilities open to them.

The tide has definitely turned big time. Maybe Celtic ( or the Big Hidden Green Hand of Fenianism) have been lobbying tirelessly in the background.

It appears on FF that they are wanting to hold a ‘Mass’ outside Ibrox

They all want meet there!!!! Lol

    Mass meeting !!!!!!

  14. In to the 3rd div they may go, but after that expect the SFA to recommend a lightening speed reorganisation of the league structures after which we will have a maximum of three leagues including the SPL and either two teams promoted/relelgated per season from the SPL or one up/down and a playoff between the 2nd bottom SPL and the second top SFL Div 1.

The rules will be applied but the landscape of Scottish football will be changed to allow a speedy return.

But what will they do without Rangers to cheat them out of trophies and tap up their best players and then buy them for a pittance?

    WHAT WILL THEY DO???!!!1?!1 (thumbsup)

  16. Listening to Radio Shortbread.

The major reason for fans voting against newco Huns is because oldco Huns (RIP) have never, not once, shown any signs of remorse for their many, many years of cheating and other assorted crooked activities.

No remorse. No surprise. No entry to SPL.

  17. Just wondering.

If the players can’t walk away, then surely Ally can’t either. That would be a breach of contract.

I believe FPLG is currently working for no salary at the moment and this would transfer under TUPE…

  19. I find it interesting that some SFL clubs are saying they don’t want them either as it would kill their promotion hopes.

    Here is the dream scenario

    1. Kicked out of the SPl

    2. Fail to gain entery the SFL as Third Lanark win the vote

  20. John McMillan from RFC(deid) supporters club has shown a damn sight more dignity than Sally and infinitely more than Sardine.

  21. They will go down the Airdrie/Clydebank route after selling ibrox and the park with no name.

  22. With opposition to a Newco-parachute apparently growing amongst SPL clubs the phrase that springs to mind is “Please do not ask for credit as a refusal may offend”.

  23. Mea Culpa

I agree with that (although I think he is from a Supporters Association and not RFC ( Deid) ).
