Speak his name in hushed tones

1566

For three months a charade took place, where Craig Whyte – who is and will remain owner of Rangers until they are finally ‘flushed away’, Duff and Phelps, The Blue Knight(s), Bill Miller, Charles Green, several members of the accountancy profession who should have known better, and some of the Fourth Estate, who clearly didn’t know better, all told you Rangers were likely to achieve a CVA.

As we (and several others) told you, a CVA was never, ever, going to be accepted by HMRC.  A cursory glance at the HMRC web site would confirm that.  Once Alex Salmond had his wings clipped, that debate was over.

The charade was a distraction.  There are many other distractions available today and they will multiply in the days to come, but I reckon if you’re looking for the critical path on this one you should keep an eye on Lord Carloway.  The chair of the SFA Appellate Panel is worth listening out for.  Say his name in hushed tones, better still, abbreviate.  Even the mention of LC will cause anxiety and distress, for some.

The OO have some finance issues. I expect that will be the next port of call for Agent Whyte.

Chuckie Green plans to let Rangers season ticket holders choose the new name for Murray Park.

    The choices are:

    1) Tesco

    2) Asda

    3) Lidl

  3. Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson has agreed to meet representatives of the Tannadice support to gauge their views over the Rangers newco crisis.

Thompson will sit down with fans next week to take on board their points and concerns ahead of the vote on whether or not to allow the transfer of the SPL share from the, by then, liquidised Ibrox club to the new company that will be formed in the days ahead.

No date for the big vote — which will involve all 12 top-flight clubs including the Light Blues — has yet been confirmed and it is unlikely to happen for at least two weeks.

That will give Thompson and the rest of the United directors time to take the temperature of opinion among the Tangerines’ faithful.

If the words of Derek Robertson are in any way representative then it appears there is little or no sympathy among the supporters for letting a newco Rangers into the league.

The former Tannadice director and now chairman of fans’ group ArabTRUST has accused those running and speaking for the Ibrox club during the debacle of turning backers of the other SPL teams against them by using ”bully-boy tactics”.

surely the SPL can’t wait 2 weeks before deciding upon the NewCo. They have to let the 12th club know if they’re in the SPL next season now so the club can plan accordingly.

    Widespread Hun assumptions:

-All debts will be eradicated but history will remain ( if its bad then it won’t happen, but if it’s good then it will).

-An 1872 crest on the new shirt.

-SPL will not survive without them. Scottish football is finished if they don’t get back into SPL- but they will prosper in DIv3.

-There will be no TV deal without them, but in Div3 they will get a bumper TV deal for themselves.

-They will “suffer” only a moderate modifications of their playing staff. Naismith, Davis, McGregor will be playing Annan etc next season.

-The Cardigan is planning to buy the Rangers in a “Consortium of Cardigans.”

-They will gain the 8 votes they require for re-entry into SPL. The others clubs don’t have the guts do vote against the mighty Rankers.

    – Div3 will be a great big Shangri La.

-They’re gonni apply tae Engerlund anyway.

-Super Swally isnae walking away- he’s been carried away by men with white coats.

Yadayadayada…and on and on and on…ad nauseam. It’s all Bill Struth speeches, gallant pioneer drivel, Rangers will never never die etc…nothing can penetrate the sheer unalloyed thick density of the huns “Nae Surrender” base psychotic mindset: It’s as thick as the accumulative brass from the necks of Whytey, Murray, Green et al- and it is utterly impervious to reality.

  18. Wikipedia entry for rfc(dead) updated :

    “Administration

On 14 February 2012 Rangers entered administration over non-payment of £9 million in PAYE and VAT taxes to HM Revenue and Customs.[63][64] On entering administration the team was deducted 10 points by the SPL, effectively ending its 2012 championship challenge.[63] Rangers have not submitted accounts for 2011 and were not granted a licence to play in European football in season 2012–2013.[65][66] HM Revenue and Customs voted against a Company Voluntary Arrangement.[67] In June 2012 it was announced that Rangers would be liquidated following the rejection of the CVA. The club’s assets will be sold off and the conduct of previous directors will be examined by the authorities.[68]”

    Lovely!

  20. Snake Plissken on

There is also the possibility that St Mirren will vote no as well as they had the hostile takeover debacle last season and could have gone out of existence had it taken place.

Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hibernian – No

Hearts – Wildcard. Vlad is mad.

Motherwell, St Johnstone, ICT and St Mirren possible no’s

Kilmarnock – shameless Rangers supporter in charge.

Ross County – will vote Yes

Rangers 2012 – will vote yes.

Dundee should IMHO have a vote as they can go up without Rangers

Now lets be clear about this:

Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hibernian, Hearts and Motherwell can all benefit from this due to increases in fans coming through the gates to watch winning teams (especially in cup matches). They would be mad to vote them in when their staus in Scotland can increase massively.

I really do not care what happens to Kilmarnock as they are basically thems minus the train fare and their chairman knows it.

Ross County and Inverness have 4 Highland derbies, two trips to Pittodrie between them and two – three games against Celtic at Home. This will offset any losses of 3000 Orcs

Dundee could have the Dundee Derby – no revenue losses from tickets (in fact they’ll get an increase) PLUS they have the other derbies against St Johnstone. Again the revenue goes up.

Hibs and Hearts have their derby.

The east coast sides all have useful travelling support and distances – Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen and the two Dundee sides.

Motherwell will benefit from a successful Hearts side bringing a support and Hearts are now the second biggest side in Scotland.

The 1M pounds they can get from this lucrative TV deal is nothing compared to the loss of 75% of their income from losing their own supporters.

    A great day.
