It’s difficult not to associate Hearts’ owner, Vladimir Romanov’s outburst on their club website yesterday with the current issue over Rangers finances, which could soon see the SPL, the SFA and the media take sides between Rangers and their creditors, in particular HM Revenue and Customs.
Romanov’s rant on the demise of the Scottish game was ignorable until he dragged in the “tax authorities” for blame. As you and I know, the tax authorities don’t play favourites, they collect vat, income, corporation and other taxes in line with the law.
Hearts failed to pay player wages last month and Romanov now says, “there is no point is spending millions to watch someone else’s show”. Most of Hearts debt is owed to Romanov’s own bank but if player wages are unpaid there is a good chance HMRC will also be outstanding, explaining the “tax authorities” reference.
If a new football club playing at Ibrox is ushered into the SPL with a points tally calculated from the position of a defunct Rangers you can expect a gold-rush of clubs ready to flush their debts to the country, and history, away.
Well done to STV who yesterday revealed the actual decision making process which would be put in place to judge an application to join the league midseason or at any other time. The SPL board, by simple majority, have the decision, while the SFA need to ratify membership.
If the SPL board vote to reward bad debtors’ shares in their league what incentive would most clubs have to pay their bills? Fortunately, our history is more valuable than any amount of cash.
The new issue of CQN Magazine will be out next week, let me know if you would like to advertise, celticquicknews@gmail.com.

Now place them at strategic points in your train of unconsciousness outburst and once it becomes legible and verges on the intelligible, I will get back to you.
Sentences usually start with a capital letter. This can be accommodated by either holding down the shift key or making temporary use of the caps lock button. Your nanny should be able to help you.
As an aside you realise you have just provided an unassailable rationale for Catholic Schools so i will have to consider whether you are in reality a Tim and are at the wind up.

I’d like to say, that it sickens me the amount of assaults being made on Ernie Lynch’s character. A good Tim who doesn’t deserve this. I’ve heard all about his large charitable donations, and round-buying skills. He does not come from Orange County. Never misses an away game.
Feel free to respond – 50p coming my way for each reply, a cool tenner if the discussion is successfully steered away from the huns.
Have to say I had a good laugh when I saw Kris Commons picture at training today. This does not seem to me the actions of a guy who is teed off at our club or his boss.
Other than the fact that he is a very good player this action, today alone, for me demands that KC comes back into the team.
For all we know this was maybe the outcome of the promised “clear the air” talks Lenny was suggesting he would have on a one to one basis with the players. If this is so I would say Kris and Neil have patched up their differences and I will be delighted to see the KC we had last year back in the team.
Fergie celebrates 25 years. Don’t win anything with kids. What we would give for a few of those kids now.

It was dealt with brilliantly.
Having an argument may look mayhem at the time but it usually does a lot of good. Maybe our players and staff haven’t been arguing enough?
Here’s to going on a winning run. Kris Commons is vital to the team. We are struggling to score goals and he is a goalscorer.
Get him back in the team.

Apparently some creditor was threatening them with a liquidation order unless they paid up. I think the sum involved was around £100k. Anyway, Whytie carried out some jiggery pokery by borrowing his own money or something and thereby keeping the wolf from the bears.
See the article on RTC – explains all.

The expulsion part will happen automatically when rfc cease to exist (liquidation), the second part you mention is interesting, although it still means 10 out of the 11 clubs will need to vote to let newco in. RogueLeader is correct, as far as I can see, that the vote could potentially be for newco starting with any number of points.
As per my earlier post, Celtic require to get the around these clubs – we only need one to vote with us.
Up until now I thought CW was in control and had a plan, the latest RTC article puts serious doubt on that, he is desparate to get to the transfer window, so his motives seem to be only to save rfc and not profit.
The challenge for CW is before rfc go into liquidation, he’ll need to make sure he has the vote secured for getting back in – he will be working on this currently, I would think. However, imaginbe the scenario he thinks he has the votes secured, however 1 “rogue” club decides to vote with Celtic (assuming we vote to keep them out) it leaves them in limbo, they would then need to apply to the SFL to start in Div3.
There is so many variables and possible outcomes, at the moment it is all guesswork. However one thing that we have learned in the past couple of days, IMO CW is not in it to take his money and run – he could have done that by now, seemingly he genuinely wants to try and get the huns through to the transfer window and possibly beyond without going into administartion.

Maybe, just maybe, we’ve hit rock bottom and it’s only up from here.
I’m going for a one goal victory over Rennes and us giving Motherwell a doing.
(Can we still give teams a doing? Or would the SNP say it’s offensive?)

What was true? I never heard anyone mention a winding up order yesterday. Who was applying for it etc etc?

According to respected sources on the RTC blog, a football creditor (unknown) threatened a winding up order for non-payment of around £100,000, which was paid. How? No one knows. The interesting developments overnight (and things are moving fast) is that Whyte appears to be desperately trying to keep the show going. Which goes against the previously received wisdom that he’d happily steer them to an insolvency event and mop up using his secured creditor status.
I can only think he views a possible status as “the man who pulled the plug on Rangers” as being a bit (life?) limiting. Do so under cover of the Tax Case, and he can turn on the blame hose. Given the actions of ex Directors at Rangers to further remove money from the club, the consequences of being at the end of the blame hose may be utmost on the minds of the key actors in this.

Could prove to be a pivotal week. rankers best player, Ratboy, out for the season at least, and our potentially most important player, Kris Commons , returning.
James Forrest, RogueLeader – We have to make a stand against them getting voted back in, even if we are the only ones and are defeated. As I see it the SPL game might be up regardless of which way the vote goes. If they were to get voted straight back in to the top flight of an unchanged SPL, I’m very much in favour of us resigning and applying to join the SFL as a protest. It would rally the fans to the cause as far as I’m concerned.
As a side note it might allow us a to strip out some deadwood and play youth in an environment where they can win and achieve success and confidence without being harangued by the fans. It would rebuild the business model of the club where we learn to trust youth and stop bringing in players for millions on decent wages tat are probably not significantly better.
The financial consequences of 3 years out of the top flight may be a lot less dire than staying in (especially if the board were to vote in favour of a status quo solution)

Is it possible for Rangers to by voted back in with the support of Hearts and then the roels reversed to save their cousins?
If that is the case we need to get Hibernian on board. No way will Celtic vote for any of the two to get back in.
I can see an FC Celtic of Glasgow being created if the board do.

Maybe the creditor that threatened winding up order over £100k was Mad Vlad looking for instalment on Lee Wallace money? Got to get the money to pay last month’s wages somehow

It was ‘true’ according to RTC.
I however do not get involved in these discussions. I will join in when the slam of the door on Edmiston Drive echoes down dusty deserted corridors and the flood of tears mixed with a deluge of pee as we all pish ourselves calls for a new Noah to appear with an Ark fit for the twenty first Century.
Sadly I personally think – note the word ‘think, ‘ – that we will still be battling with each other, taunts still being fired across Celtic park and Ibrox, and generally muddling by in a maelstrom of metaphorical and real conflicts long after I’ve been stuffed in a bin bag and tossed into the Clyde.

Early squad news – it get worst
1506 FOOTBALL: Glenn Loovens and Kris Commons are both in contention for Celtic’s Europa League tie against Rennes after recovering from hamstring and calf injuries respectively. But Ki Sung-yueng is a doubt with a virus and Joe Ledley (calf) and Charlie Mulgrew (hamstring) are out, while Mo Bangura remains on the sidelines with a knee problem.

I suspect other creditors and there must be many now know the action they must take to secure payment.
I wish this would happen soon with Rangers. It seems it’s affecting our team more than theirs. They seem galvanised for now. Hopefully it won’t last much longer.

Have to say I don’t think the Aberdeen fans would take kindly to their club lending the Huns an oar in the vote to get back the SPL as a matter of right in the event of them going bust.
As for the others…..
Motherwell, Killie, ICT, Dundee Utd, Dunfermline….sure to help the Huns
Hearts and Hibs…. suspect their instinct in NOT to help
St Johnstone, St Mirren will probably favour the Huns.
Now which way will Celtic go?
If we were in any way to assist them just watch the stands empty.
Canamalar,
Have you “persuaded” Ki that he has a virus?

I think that the “Whyte Knight” was hoping to have a wad of Champion’s League money in his pocket upon pulling the plug on Castle Greyskull.
Once the Horribles figure out what he’s done it will be reminiscent of Al Pacino in the final scene from Scarface. :)

I don’t know enough about the Hertz situation, the only reason discussions are taking place re the Huns is because of the floating charge with CW could use to secure the stadium, if HMRC were prioritised creditor there would be no way back for rfc. Hertz may be different as we don’t know how much they owe HMRC or Ukios Bank, irrespective the vote could end up being the same thing, yes.
However, they need all other clubs to go with them, Celtic only need one, Aberdeen, DU or Hibs – possibly even St. Mirren, who have no debt. Voting any club straight back in has potential legal issues for the SPL & SFA – neither will like this.
Read this BRTH Article, it is the best piece I’ve read on this whole debacle.

Have to agree. This is the best chance the board have of filling the stadium they will ever have.
I’m sure I read somewhere that a full stadium is where Scottish teams make their money.
The TV deal is so bad that it’s not worth shouting about. £1m a year os something for Celtic & Rangers? We can make that in one game in Europe.
Celtic have had a very long time to ensure they play this the way they want. There must be a plan in place. Peter Lawwell was voted onto the SPL board for a reason.
