Impossible to pick a poor team from the Celtic sqaud at the moment, but Lenny’s giving it his best shot.
Going 4-4-2, the defensive core is the standout strength from today’s side, with Ambrose and Wilson being far and away our best CBs. We’re mediocre going down the flanks, however – if St Mirren can take advantage of our wide areas, I can see plenty of balls getting into our penalty area. Wanyama and Ledley, while excellent players in their own right, do not have a great record together; the same can be said of Hooper and Watt.
We all remember the various quips when the top four in the SPL in reverse order was Hearts, Motherwell, Rangers, Celtic. Well, until last night’s win by ICT, the top of the SPL table beautifully described the gap between Celtic and Sevco. It looked like this:
“St Mirren have been absolutely shocking. I don’t think Celtic have been that great. It’s been a stroll in the park for them. It’s ridiculously easy. I would be ashamed if I was a St Mirren player.”
They pay this man money for comments like that on Shortbread.
Just popped into O’Neills in Paphos to catch the game. We’re 4-0 up and I have a cool beer in front of me. Room full of hoops. Can’t get much better then that!!

Aye,they need the huns to throw away 15 point leads.
Brilliant first half from the Bhoys. StMirren to their credit have tried to play football, had 2 very good chances, but it really has been men against boys. Every time we go forward we look like scoring. In addition to scoring 4 Ledley and Ambrose have both missed chances that should have been converted.
With Sammi, Izzy, Commons, Brown, Rogne and Forrest all out, the other teams in the SPL know there is only one winner this year. Excellent goals from Hooper, Ambrose, and Wanyama(2). Hoopers was similar to his goal vs Spartak. Ball played wide to Lassad and a good ball across the face of goal for an easy conversion. Ambrose had a tap in after a Charlie fk broke to him at the back post. Amazing triple sommersalt celebration followed which the cameras have failed to replay. Wanyama’s first was another fortunate break of the ball in the box which he finished well but his second was an early contender for goal of the season. Victor picked up a square ball from Charlie some 30 yds out. Couple of steps forward and a curling shot into the top corner that the keeper could not get near.
Great to see Charlie at left back with Kelvin and Effe in the middle. We look really strong in defence. The Bhoys will be shooting into the goal in front of our own fans second half and you have to worry that St Mirren are in for a real skelping.
Hail Hail

The way Celtic players have played today is because we are playing Barcelona – they all want to play in the Nou Camp so they’re all showing the manager why they should be picked.
Who can blame them.

A special mention for Tony Watt who, despite not scoring, has had a superb first half despite having to put up with being repeatedly fouled and assaulted.

tommytwiststommyturns – Definitely, the team is young, very young but the signs are there that we are going back to where we really belong. Barcelona is precisely what these young men need to face, so they can improve quicker.
