  2. stephenofderby – our players attitude. They were shocking even the manager is saying that now. Too many of them look disinterested for some reason.

  3. What disappointed me was the failure to adapt to the playing surface.

It was obvious from the first minute that the ball was going to stick on the dead surface.

Yet, we insisted on trying to run with the ball and losing it, leading to players getting caught out of position.

Why does Hooper not take the penalties?

We had chances and bad luck with the woodwork, but the team seemed to lack passion and variation in their play.

Perhaps mullet is right and they need a Mc. Guinness session, not a Guinness session.

Hard to fault Hooper as he had virtually no service all day, but what happened to Victor?

Possibly the kind of dip in performance that occurs with young players and underlines his need to stay where he is for a couple of years.

  4. Thank you Bhoys for the updates however unpleasant. What is it with us and Hampden recently.

Anyway out of here before the doom merchants have me running a bath and putting on some Leonard Cohen.

    Off to the gym.

    Hail Hail

  5. Well done St Mirren but no chance them winning the final, football in Scotland doesn’t work like that. I know where my money will be going.

  6. Listen guys! Be thankful you are the way you are, hatred is a heavy burden to carry!

Listening to those commentators today, we are as far removed from them, as light-years are from the second-hand on your watch!,

Be lucky, as well as being better than those poor sods!

    H.H.

  7. I'm Neil Lennon (tamrabam) on

Lenny on interview now lack of hunger leadership at start but came back and the turning point was the penalties lack of shape. Complacency concern

  8. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

That was a repeat of many Celtic defeats at Hampden.

You would reasonably expect that the group of players, having experienced defeats by Hearts and Kilmarnock last season would have learnt that the SPL version of St Mirren etc is different from the one that turns up for Hampden cup games. But we didn’t.

I watched Celtic players trot about whilst opponents looked fired-up.

Look at Mathews “effort” to get back for the first goal, he’s still trotting back when they score.

Ledley, like quite a few others looked as if he didn’t fancy the match.

Neil Lennon’s just called it “soul-less”, spot on ! Just glad I’m not walking back down Aitkenhead Rd.

67 Heaven. Fella you are entitled to your opinion and im entitled to mine you might think differently fair play to you but I meant every word I said h.h.

    I’m neil Lennon

Your namesake on Tv citing lack of discipline and critically ‘lack of leadership’…

    Commons Kayal Vic Mulgrew

Would be my default midfield with Sammy and Hooper up front.

    I’d make Sammi captain

  11. We woz rubbish and St Mirren deserved to win because they wanted it more. Good luck to them in the final.

Having said that we were unlucky in some respects and the game could have gone the other way if we’d had the rub of the green.

  12. stephenofderby -I am not spoiling for a fight just very frustrated and angry about that performance. I can take a defeat if our players give thier best and get beaten fair an square but that was not the case today.

Anyway best of luck to St Mirren in the final I hope the beat Hearts.

  13. Congratulations to Danny Lennon and St Mirren, the better team won. Maybe a wee lesson in humility to be learned by some of the posters from last night and what we were going to do to Hearts in the final.

Too many below par performances by too many of our players. IMO the turning point was the missed penalty, which I felt was an extremely soft award. At the end of the day lessons need to be learned, you cannot walk onto the pitch and think you have the divine right to win.

    A very disappointed PMTYH :-((

There you have it….Lenny questions the attitude ….

Which in some peoples eyes on here, means he’s not a true Celtic supporter.

    (shakes head)

  15. Usual failings today go a goal behind and we struggle big time to break teams down. In fact we have not managed to win from this position once this season. A squad with only one natural winger who is injury prone and not one creative midfielder. The fix is an easy one NFL, youve done so much right but this deficieny will cost trophies. The most annoying factor is the last 3 hampden appearances the opposition have wanted it more.

  16. Same rotten attitude which we saw against Ross County, Killie and Hearts….the least we expect in every match is that every player bursts a gut to compete and win every ball.

All LLassad is doing is keeping good exciting enthusiastic skillfull young players out the team ( McGeoch / Watt) …these guys will get fed up and go elsewhere like the MOM today (assume it was McGowan)… we are desperately needing a midfield player who can direct the play…. Scott Brown is not the answer and never was!!

  17. They scored on 8 mins – we scored roughly 5 seconds before the first half whistle was blown.

They scored again and again – Charlie Mulgrew having a mare and some of the poorest defensive I’ve ever sen from a Celtic team – and I’ve seen a few.

We scored roughly 1 second before the whistle was blown.

Neil, stand by your players, but also, be a manager when they are poor – Lassad should never have saw the first half, never mind waiting until the 60min sucker punch hits us (Again) – Hook them early – have a plan B – not a reaction.

I would advise getting an orthopaedic pillow grafted to Fraser’s neck after Zaluska’s performance – ‘unsure’ is the word I’ll use.

We were poorly served by every guy with a Celtic jersey today.

I don’t want to believe that suddenly we have a team full of non triers. the next headline is that the manager has lost the dressing room. Neil loses badly which makes him a good manager and susceptible to full blooded and emotional after match interviews. He knows the players and its his job to the manage them. We aren’t suddenly a terrible, disinterested bunch of prima donnas. Still we’re all Bhoys and well still be times tomorrow. Maybe I’m too eezy oazie a wee term ma mammy uses!

  19. Lassad….seems to be completely useless according to some

He has played very well in the last few games

He was no worse then any of the other pretenders today

  20. I wonder if Barca Quick News was like this after we beat them.

We do not have a divine right to win these games. Just as Barca did not have a divine right to beat us. That’s what makes football so special – anyone can win on any given day if their attitude is right.

Plenty of people are questioning our attitude and motivation right now and with some justification. However, it is worth remembering that for most of the St Mirren team today, this was the most important match of the season. Is it any wonder they were hungrier than us?

The Barca fans were gracious in defeat and we all commended them on this. So can we not do the same for StMirren and applaud their performance?

This was by no means our biggest game this season and that is largely down to the way this team under this manager has performed so far. Today was disappointing for sure but this team did not become a bad one overnight and are not deserving of the hysterics.

We are all disappointed but perspective is required. We have a lot to look forward to thanks to Lenny and the Bhoys.

    Again, well done St Mirren.

  21. Outfought, outpassed and out played by St Mirren. They had creativity in midfield, and genuine width to stretch us, we have lacked width all season (with forrest injured) and have little creativity in midfield (bar commons who spent more than an hour getting skelfs on his backside.

Neil Lennon has done well since taking over as manager, however his record at Hampden is getting close to being embarrassing. 5 defeats in 9 games, losing to the might of Ross Co, Killie and St Mirren.

  22. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    ulysses mcghee

Don’t think they all played badly today.

You are right about Zaluska, the guy is a nervous wreck.

  23. – A bit unlucky today, hitting the bar twice!

    – Thought we’d have been putting in penalty practice in with the Juve game approaching.

Needless to say St Mirren played well and deserve their day in the sun, and i hope this result is a kick up the backside to the team.

Lets hope our Bhoys seek revenge on those strips the next time they see them.

Some say the glass is half empty, others say it is half full…,

I say; “Are you drinking that”?

  24. We Got out of that-what we put in.

    Well done St Mirren

Danny Lennon set out his team to stop Adam Mattews getting forward and to crowd out Sammi and our midfield, IT worked!!!!!.

I feel sick at result but it will pass and fade.

We need to be able to change it at Hampden today we didn’t.

    Till tomorrow all

May you all be blessed with thr strength to handle whatever comes your way.

    HAIL HAIL

  25. We need a winger who can stretch the opposition, get to the byeline and get the ball across. Relying on your full back to do that shouldn’t be our sole tactic, particularly when out left back is a shadow of the player he was a couple of seasons ago. There’s still time in this transfer window but will we spend any money or will we be looking at loan or freebies? Gary Mackay Steven by Thursday please Peter.
