    I think the Portguese do tend to cheat. Anyone remember Porto (Portuguese) in Seville coached by Mourinho (Portuguese) who had one particular player DECO (Portuguese) taken off in a stretcher four times screaming in agony in his own language Portuguese (Portuguese). Anyone?

    Dont like to stereotype but I do recall during the 82 World Cup that Malcolm Allison – then on the ITV panel and a recently former coach of Sporting Lisbon- saying as the rest of the panel were marvelling at the brilliance of Brazil that the Portuguese were as good technically but they always went down rather than try to play the game. I also remember watching the World Cup Semi in 2006 and bring stunned at the way the players ran and would try to get a free kick on the edge of the box rather than try to score.

     

     

    And I was in Seville – had I not spent part of the afternoon in a bar with some Porto fans who were great guys – i’d say the Portiguese were a bunch of cheats. But they aren’t though some of them are.
