Stick to what you’re good at Celtic

597

Spartak Moscow have appointed Valery Karpin as caretaker manager.  The former Russian international has had an active role in the club since 2008, variously as chief executive and manager.  He took control of the first team when he replaced Michael Laudrup in 2009 until Unai Emeri’s appointment this summer when Karpin returned to his executive role.

He is an experienced pair of hands who is likely to stabilise things after the spirit had been drained from the club.  Spartak are already out of Europe but will pose no less a threat than Inverness when they arrive at Celtic Park next midweek.

Neil Lennon will not be particularly concerned by the impact of Celtic’s defeat by Inverness on Saturday on the league table but the experience will still be arresting.  Celtic have won three of five away games in Europe this season, losing the other two by a single goal, but there is clearly still work to do when faced with a home challenge in the SPL.  Valery Karpin will be keen to prove he can exploit this.

Celtic have established credentials in three areas this season: they can defend adroitly when setup to do so, they are a major threat at set-pieces and they are an effective counter-attacking side.  Any other attributes remain a matter for conjecture.

The first instruction against Spartak should be ‘stick to what you’re good at’.

Papa John, given a choice would you take going out in the last 16 of the CL or quarters/Semi final of the Europa?

    _____________________

‘quarters/Semi final of the Europa’ is not a given. Equally a last 16 exit is not written in stone. The personnel at WGS’s disposal did not have the ability of the present squad but AC still needed a wonder goal to beat them. The Europa is a credible competition but Celtic should be competing at the highest possible level.

I thought I’d have a look to see how the huns were taking the A.T. story today and in true rm style it’s going right to form.

I found this gem among the usual plethora of insults and threats:

    “Can this idiot count?

HMRC may therefore appeal or may not. It could take a couple of months for them to decide.

    = 61 days

    Then ……..

HMRC told me this morning they have 56 days to appeal

Considering the judgement was dlivered 3 weeks ago = 21days that should leave them 35 days to make an appeal

An appeal that will gain them no money

Not only can this fud of a journalist not write he can’t count”

    ……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Now, I’m not about to question A.T.’s arithmetic abilities but what this particularly thick hun fails to grasp is that his beloved dead club are but the sacrificial goats in this story. He fails to realise its not about rangers. Its about the big players hector can feast on once a successful case is made against the dead club. He fails to realise that the dead club were the easiest to go after and as such are collateral damage.

After the appeal starts, how many more years of shame and uncertainty for the newbies before a result is issued by the UTT? And, can we call them cheats again without the fear of DM “sending in the boys wi thi knuckle dustirs”?

Seems there is still so much fun to be had on the ongoing hun circus. Excellent!!!

Paul Mac doesn’t think they will appeal, he said so last week, he may well have changed his mind, I have no idea.

Personally, I think they would be derelict in their duty if they don’t appeal, but only being a numpty, what would I know.

    Ha ha……..it gets funnier.

TET, given that everyone thought the huns would lose the appeal hands down, even most huns, it would be shameful if the government gave up on this by not following through and trying to recoup the money being “stolen” by bigger fish than the deid heids.

Then again the incompetence of the hmrc in failing to recoup tax via their botched IR35 laws and subsequent S660 shows the quality of their council and I for one am happy about that aspect of their mediocrity. Still the huns are deid and we’ve had more than a few parties along the way. I’m reasonably happy with all that.

On another matter, sclaffball is booked for the dates discussed. 28th booked as a threeball. So it’s not all bad.

P.S. the deal was sealed today. I now have a pool albeit nothing as spectacular as yours. I’ll mail you details in good time for making arrangements (No internet in place yet). I’ll mail you my moby number.

Now, this is where my Spanish is brutal, I asked her to spell out the website for me, and I wrote this down…..enplantaceon.digital.com

And I can’t find it, I obviously wrote it down wrong, but it must be close :>))))

Anyways, you have the number, it’s as cheap as you will get, that includes a phone line, so only interweb will be cheaper still.

Re. slide guitar. Yes, damping the strings with the side of your hand as you use the slide helps no end. Ends the tinny sound.

Open tuning IS best . G and D tunings work best.

But normal tuning can be used if you are playing slide in conjunction with ‘normal’ playing.

  18. It’s best to look at SSB as a hun love-in comedy show, otherwise rage will be yer lot if yer a Tim.

I once actually heard Sneevins refer to t’rankers as “our team.” No one called him on this gaffe.

    They are stupidity with microphones.

I listen occasionally, usually while cooking, and find myself helpless with laughter at times.

If you hear/see it like this, it can sometimes be a weird and wonderful joy…..that tripe like that can be broadcast in all seriousness in 2012.

And DL is fast approaching Coleman status with his incomprehensible mangling of language.

I’ll try and find the site that is dedicated to his amazing utterances.

  19. Bimac any decision can be cited as case law.

The question is whether it is binding. That will depend on the seniority of the tribunal. weight will given to the personnel involved in reaching the decision. In this case we’re talking light heavyweights. Though I wouldn’t say that to their face in court =)

I think HMRC would rather win this in the final throw so as not to have any issues about the finer points of Scots law devaluing their win in an English court or tribunal. Also so as to settle it once and for all.

If HMRC don’t appeal this case they’ll find themselves considering an appeal on the same points in other cases with the additional burden of having to explain why they let it go in this instance. That could be countered by pointing out there was no one to pay the tax or costs in Rangers’ case. There never has been. =) *

    * – these opinions are mine and mine alone and are in no way meant to represent someone who know what he’s talking about =)
