A big well done to everyone who participated in the efforts to send Vanessa Riddle to Philadelphia for crucial medical treatment. The £500k required was raised yesterday.
Brogan Rogan’ brought the issue to the blog and Taggsybhoy arranged the CQN Music Quiz earlier this month, our first formal activity for Vanessa. Penfold gave us a signed Celtic top at the quiz which raised an incredible £5000 on eBay (plus gift aid) from a Celtic fan who, quite simply, gets what following this club is all about.
Not only did he pay £5000 but he told us to keep the shirt and use it again! We then raffled the shirt on eBay and raised almost £1400. You are all part of an incredible story by an incredible support.
The draw for the signed shirt took place at Uefa headquarters in Nyon, you can watch the video of below and find out if you won.
Our thanks again to Andrew in Belfast for his tireless help with the site this week. The new ‘whyte’ template is in place and we’ll continue to restore functionality.

Fasting or sacrafice during Lent is there to symbolise the 40 days and 40 nights Christ spent in the desert. Now as far as I can see lent lasts for 46 days and 46 nights, therefore you can get one day off each week to get totally meltit as you like to do on occasion ;-)

As long as that thug McCulloch is gone by the end of the week I’ll be happy.
He deliberately tried to hurt Kayal in my view and has since been on the park for them when he should never have played in that game or again this season for that tackle.
Seeing him have to trudge out of the big hoose knowing Motherwell will be his next destination will bring a smile to my face.
As for Lafferty – he’ll be on the move as they canny play him without having to pay. Another cheat and thug who shouldn’t be a footballer.
As for Naismith – anyone who sticks two fingers up at the Celtic support after scoring against us gets zero sympathy from me. Horrid creature. They probably won’t get rid of him but I don’t think I’d shed a tear.

Three points before kip.
1. Dunfermline announce player wage cuts this month due to cash flow problems. Its not difficult to understand that these players will be on a fraction of what the huns were willing to pay Cousin, while holding back 80k which in theory would have allowed the Dunfermline players their due wages. So how the hell can the huns plead for sympathy over the 300k ticket money up front from us? Honestly, as much as they are hated, they have stooped to levels I never imagined. If they go under they should see it as a good thing, leaving behind a murky, sordid, undignified history which many of their own must surely be embarrassed by.
2. An old chestnut for me I know, but Keevins tonight proved once and for all that he is gutter journo numero uno of all time (and sadly one of us). To eclipse the likes of Traynor and Jackson takes some doing, but he manages it.

He was very average player replaced after 60 minutes of the game. I’m sure he can play better. We beat the leaders 4:0 in Wroclaw. Fojut played well for them, none of the conceded goals was his.
People in Poland don’t know the stories about Novo. I was upset when he signed for us but try to stay very calm now.
