Suker, Uefa and regionalisation

935

Croatian hero of the 1990s, Davor Suker, currently Croatian Football Federation president, is campaigning for a place on the Uefa Executive Committee, one of 12 people chasing 7 places.

Sukor has been campaigning across south-eastern Europe, with a simple message: collapse the cream from the national leagues of 13 countries into one powerful 42-team regional league structure.  He has support across the region, including Turkey and the former Yugoslav countries.

Smaller countries across Europe have realised that they must regionalise or accept a future of irrelevance.  The Gazprom-funded deal between the Ukrainian and Russian regional league floundered at the onset or war but regionalisation is not going away.  We need innovative campaigners like Suker to rise to positions of authority, replace the ranks of the incompetent and talentless.

Well done to newco for rewarding those who used their media outlets to campaign relentlessly on their behalf in recent years with a seat in the directors’ box on Tuesday.  I’m sure David Leggat deserved the accolade of being the only mainstream media journo so honoured, which is quite something.  New season lamb is in stock early this year.

not sure if this has been posted already, but is relevant to your leader on Davor Suker, currently Croatian Football Federation president……..

Croatian Football Federation received a common UEFA and FIFA position on proposed Sports Act amendments…….

“FIFA and UEFA urgently request that the CFF communicate this common position to the relevant authorities so that aforementioned amendments of the Sports Act are not adopted in the Croatian Parliament.”

Are you still trying to dream up some SNP policy?

You can’t find one – know why?

THERE ISN’T ONE – AND NEVER HAS BEEN ONE IN OVER EIGHTY YEARS.

Why don;t you and the rest of your ‘johnny come lately’ SNP fans – come clean and reveal why you really are supporting them.

You don’t care a damn about the working class or the poor with your faux outrage at Labour, the only party that has ever done anything for our class.

The reason you are voting SNP is pure and simple – you are ‘sticking it to’ the Ibrox mob – we you stupidly perceive to represent the UK – THEY DON’T.

Just because you support something does not mean that your are representative of it – look at most of you – you support Celtic..yes – but you are in no way representative of Celtic and the vast majority of its support – you are an upstart faction in whom 95% of the true Celtic support have no interest.

The common communication was signed by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke and UEFA Secretary General Gianni Infantino.

    Dear President,

We refer to the matter of the reference and acknowledge receipt of your correspondence dated 2 March 2015 the content of which received our full attention.

In this regard, we would like to remind you that all FIFA and UEFA member associations have to manage their affairs independently and without influence of any third parties as clearly stipulated in articles 13 part 1 (i) and 17 of FIFA Statutes as well as the article 7bis(2) of the UEFA Statutes.

In particular, we have noted that according to the information provided by you, the proposed amendments of the Sports Act in Croatia would have a direct influence on essential matters such as the composition of the general assembly of the Croatian Football Federation (CFF), as well as the composition of the general assemblies of the CFF Members. Therefore, any implementation of the proposed amendments would be considered as the state interference of the football affairs which would be unacceptable for both FIFA and UEFA.

In this connection, we would like to add the following considerations:

    (i) the CFF should be consulted beforehand in any process aimed at amending provisions of the Sports Act as applicable in Croatia.

(ii) the CFF must remain at any time remain entirely free to decide the number or percentage of representatives from the different pre-defined stakeholders (such as clubs, leagues or players) who are entitled to attend the CFF general assembly.

Under these circumstances, FIFA and UEFA urgently request that the CFF communicate this common position to the relevant authorities so that aforementioned amendments of the Sports Act are not adopted in the Croatian Parliament.

  9. The picture of Scott Brown imo will have been taking last weekend, not a great image portrayed of course…is there a cup final this weekend? Negative Celtic stories in the media..nothing new there.

I’m just surprised they never held the story back until tomorrow,I remember on the day of the 6-2 game the Sunday Mail ran a story of Riseth and Mahe fighting on the training ground when the incident actually happened on the Monday before but they held the story back

A quiet word in the ear from Ronny will suffice, Ronny indeed himself enjoys a pint by his own admission.
