Suker, Uefa and regionalisation

935

Croatian hero of the 1990s, Davor Suker, currently Croatian Football Federation president, is campaigning for a place on the Uefa Executive Committee, one of 12 people chasing 7 places.

Sukor has been campaigning across south-eastern Europe, with a simple message: collapse the cream from the national leagues of 13 countries into one powerful 42-team regional league structure.  He has support across the region, including Turkey and the former Yugoslav countries.

Smaller countries across Europe have realised that they must regionalise or accept a future of irrelevance.  The Gazprom-funded deal between the Ukrainian and Russian regional league floundered at the onset or war but regionalisation is not going away.  We need innovative campaigners like Suker to rise to positions of authority, replace the ranks of the incompetent and talentless.

Well done to newco for rewarding those who used their media outlets to campaign relentlessly on their behalf in recent years with a seat in the directors’ box on Tuesday.  I’m sure David Leggat deserved the accolade of being the only mainstream media journo so honoured, which is quite something.  New season lamb is in stock early this year.

  1. Don’t post much but i have been in the company of Scott brown at a birthday party and the guy is an absolute gentleman .he had time for everyone who wanted to speak to him and took time out for anyone who wanted to have there photo taken with him .so if the guy wants to go out and have a drink on his days off then good whit about it .i think the real story here is msm trying there best to upset celtic before a cup final. Seen and heard it all before

    They write for their market.

That particular paper has never been appealing for many reasons – and the people who buy it are arseholes.

And what they think doesn’t matter.

  3. Scot Brown is a great Celtic captain.

    Long may he continue.

That the supremacists are terrified of our superiority despite their best efforts to cheat us brings a huge smile to my face everyday.

Glad to say I ripped up my party membership the day he became leader, and abstained from all votes till 2010.

He ruined the party and turned it into a bunch of pussies afraid to do what is right in case it annoys The Establishment.

WTF! Upsetting The Established Order is the whole reason for Labour’s existence. Nae wonder I despair, but I despair more at the alternatives.

It’s like Metropolis now,be grateful for the crumbs thrown by those who plan and ruin your existence.

Should stop in time for the racing, unlikely to be worse than good to soft, good in places.

I’m not bad at forecasting the weather. Having a mare-!-wi forecasting the winners though.

  11. Now if we had our own good PR men, that Sun pic would be spun as Broonie suffering a delayed reaction to the vicious boot on the head he received during the quarter final.

The Sun: the go to place for the thoughts of Katie Hopkins.

  12. Amazing, Mullet is ready for the Sevco challenge.

Pity he wasn’t so prepared when he was Motherwell manager.

I’ll tell you a wee tale when I see you re CCTV in Sutton years ago.

Releasing images from them-except by the authorities, for obvious reasons-was illegal then, and I doubt that has changed.

Friday before a cup final ans SMSM have undermining story on front page. Shrugs, smiles and strolls on. Plus ca change…

By the way, is it possible to read the Sun? Have they started using words with the cartoons then?

Much more important issues to discuss pre-final like – should I get a number 4 or 6 for my pre-final hair cut?

I have never voted for anybody anytime anywhere.Teenage me concluded that none of them represented me and therefore I would represent myself..

Many people have given me a hard time re not voting – now comes an election and many of those people ( particularly Scottish people ! ) tell me they won’ t be voting – seems that holding your nose whilst you put a cross in a box is finally losing its attraction.

Lovely day here – dog walking / beach time.

  21. Kerrydale looking lovely for tonight.

Did you all guess who our guest of honour is?

Paul reckons its Gary Mackay- Steven and he is in the know.

There’s been talk of our captain Scott Brown popping in early doors and he’ll be most welcome if he does!

And Kris Commons is dropping Lisa off so he could stick his head through the door.

However our guest of honour – who will be manning the CQN book stall as you arrive at 6.30pm for your FREE pint is…….

Our recent signing from Dundee United…

Cup tied for the cup final…..

    STUART ARMSTONG!

  22. Crikey based on those photos Broonie must need to shave his head every other day!

Maybe he should share his hair growing secret with Stokesy and LG!

Why anyone would read and believe anything printed in a newspaper that has been caught telling despicable lies more than once is genuinely beyond me.

  23. I have just picked a up ticket for the cup replay for Young THB, whilst he was taking photos of the Celtic Way.

A big thanks to Eamonn from the office for taking a photo of YTHB and me on his way round to the stadium, and getting him a place near our relocated seats.
