Suker, Uefa and regionalisation

935

Croatian hero of the 1990s, Davor Suker, currently Croatian Football Federation president, is campaigning for a place on the Uefa Executive Committee, one of 12 people chasing 7 places.

Sukor has been campaigning across south-eastern Europe, with a simple message: collapse the cream from the national leagues of 13 countries into one powerful 42-team regional league structure.  He has support across the region, including Turkey and the former Yugoslav countries.

Smaller countries across Europe have realised that they must regionalise or accept a future of irrelevance.  The Gazprom-funded deal between the Ukrainian and Russian regional league floundered at the onset or war but regionalisation is not going away.  We need innovative campaigners like Suker to rise to positions of authority, replace the ranks of the incompetent and talentless.

Well done to newco for rewarding those who used their media outlets to campaign relentlessly on their behalf in recent years with a seat in the directors’ box on Tuesday.  I’m sure David Leggat deserved the accolade of being the only mainstream media journo so honoured, which is quite something.  New season lamb is in stock early this year.

It would probably have been better if he had fallen asleep. That was sad to watch.

The BBC have previous on this plying George Best prior to Wogan show. If he turned up half canned he should’ve been excluded from programme.

  3. After reading posts about Charles Kennedy decided to watch on bbc northern Ireland which is one hour behind for question time. Switched over after 5 mins. Too embarrassed for him. Was at glasgow uni at same time . What a deterioration.

Eddie, there was a Paul Crozier in the year above me at school from down your way in West Dunbartonshire. I wonder if its the same guy who passed sentence on the ‘ the o** f***’ fan according to the Radio Clyde web page.

Many moons ago I was at visiting a friend in Dumbarton. We went to St Patrick’s for Mass. During the Mass my mate says to me ” See that guy who is the Eucharistic minister he’s Sheriff Crozier if you are ever up in front of him pull out your rosary beads before he sentences you and you’ll get a reduced sentence.”

At the end of Mass as we were leaving this lady who was sitting behind us said “I was listening to your conversation during Mass and I thought it was extremely funny, let me introduce myself I’m Sheriff Crozier’s wife.”

Which goes to show, you shouldny be talking during Mass ;-)

Clearly a very intelligent & engaging man ( politics aside) , but felt sorry for him on QT tonight.

Easy to speculate on what lay behind his performance, but I hope the guy gets it together.

That’s what happened when slab threw their dummies out the pram, opposing every single SNP bill, out of spite, even if it benefited the people. They thought they had a divine right to govern Scotland.

I didn’t see Charles Kennedy tonight, but from what I gather, the producer of the show needs a bloody good doing.

I await his excuse with interest. And that of anyone else who thinks it was a good idea to allow him on the show.

Btw,The LibDems should have made sure that he was fit to appear in the first place.

  17. Let me say a couple of things on the rubbishing of Charles Kennedy.

Firstly, I am Labour, so not a supporter, however he is a decent man, who like us all, is not perfect, and has been known to perhaps overdo the ‘sauce’ in the past.

Secondly, the BBC have vast experience in dealing with guests who may be ‘over the limit’ – is everybody on here 100% sure it was alcohol that was affecting him – I can think of at least two other conditions that present similar appearances.

Let them without sin cast the first stone – any takers?

  18. Charles Kennedy was a bit forgetful and slightly slow on the uptake – in my opinion he was NOT under the influence of alcohol.

He may well have a medical condition, which if he has, I hope those on here having a go at him for their own selfish reasons, will have the decency to recant and apologise.

Look at the other members of the panel and the chairman, did they ever respond/react in a manner that would lead you to think, that they thought he was drunk?

  19. Careful With That Tax, Moonbeams

    ——————————————————

Tell me this – exactly what actual hard and fast policies/proposals have the SNP ever produced that makes you so ready to support them?

Name one that they have ever uttered that would benefit the working class and poorer in society – just ONE.

They have NEVER produced one in all their 80 years.

So, never mind bad-mouth others – tell us one positive reason all why you support the SNP?

  20. Scott Brown – Front Page of the Sun

    ————————————————-

Scott Brown has disgraced his position and disgraced our club.

Surely Ronny, with his disciplined MUST banish Brown from Celtic.

We are a family club and we encourage our young fans to follow the lead of our best players.

The sight of Brown, lying drunk outside a strip club cannot be excused away.

He must be dropped (from a great height) and transfer – listed.

He must NEVER again play for Celtic – no ifs and no buts.

Way I read it,Charles Kennedy was getting support and sympathy on here.

As for Scott Brown,he is entitled to leisure time the same as the rest of us. In fact, since his displays this season have been better than nearly everyone else’s,I reckon Ronny should suggest a bit of team bonding.
