Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark all possible for Celtic

947

Delighted for Aberdeen, winning away from home in Croatia is no mean feat for a Scottish club, but a 0-3 result, anywhere, is a special result.  None of the other 32 away teams could manage so much as a two goal win.

The Inverness defeat on their maiden European performance was pity, if not a surprise.  Winning your home game is regarded as the Cardinal Rule in Europe, but they have a puncher’s chance next week in Romania.  Score the opening goal and it’s anyone’s game.

Today’s draw for the Champions League 3rd round qualifier has the potential to get a bit tasty.  There are plenty of potential opponents from northern Europe with trips to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark all possible, while Celtic are the only seed from northern Europe.  Hopefully Uefa, in their keenness for geographical neighbourliness, don’t feel the need to send us to Israel, Poland or Serbia.  If we take care of Stjarnan, of course.

Mikeintoronto, thanks s for posting Stand Down Margaret, my favourite song by the Beat.

It was a double ‘A’ side with another good song by the Beat, Best Friend.

Unfortunately, it was one of the few songs banned by Radio 1 which never became a big hit.

This is plain and simple, the audio of the Clash single, Rudie Can’t Fail of the single Bankrobber.

  3. Stand down margaret cos your best friends are racists and you hate the poor, the west Scottish industrial dependents and any Irish nationalist.

Phyllis … ‘are you allowed to say it?’ ….. I think the Friday night rule is that you can say anything, as long as you sing it, or at least suggest a good song to go with it …

It is now the 18th of July Celtic park time…….

I was born on the 18th July in the year of 1970, my first game was a euro tie against SW Innsbruck, I was more interest in the programme about winning a ball, I then shed a tear ofr two as a p3 as King Kenny was leaving us, first old firm game 1980 final, whit a pass face Danny to George McCluskey to finish off…..anyway my good lady & daughter are in snooze land and I am sitting with a wee voddie thinking (ala Charlie Nic another let down) P67 and Cqn has given me the option to talk to fellow Celtic fans about everything Celtic, I know sometimes the topic goes a bit left field but I love Cqn and everything it stands for, sometimes if you think some clown is attention seeking or trying for a reaction just type Celtic, the Charlie Gallagher stuff and all the other players that I don’t know interests me, it will put the other eijits off, anyway any poster that types they are fed up just post Celtic stuff and keep Cqn to be be Cqn
