Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark all possible for Celtic

947

Delighted for Aberdeen, winning away from home in Croatia is no mean feat for a Scottish club, but a 0-3 result, anywhere, is a special result.  None of the other 32 away teams could manage so much as a two goal win.

The Inverness defeat on their maiden European performance was pity, if not a surprise.  Winning your home game is regarded as the Cardinal Rule in Europe, but they have a puncher’s chance next week in Romania.  Score the opening goal and it’s anyone’s game.

Today’s draw for the Champions League 3rd round qualifier has the potential to get a bit tasty.  There are plenty of potential opponents from northern Europe with trips to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark all possible, while Celtic are the only seed from northern Europe.  Hopefully Uefa, in their keenness for geographical neighbourliness, don’t feel the need to send us to Israel, Poland or Serbia.  If we take care of Stjarnan, of course.

Ma good lady fancies it and have already agreed with Clogher Celt that it’s a history lesson for the wee yin, if the holidays fall into place we will be there, a few of my family came over for the wedding and they are always over for funerals it would be good to return the favour plus it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, not to celebrate more to appreciate what happened in 1916

I don’t think gorgeous Georgios would want to come back even if we wanted him. His hair is immortalised in Celtic folklore and that’s where it should remain.

His skelping of the huns at the Victorian toilet is up there with the best.

So that’s me finally arrived home from “paradise”(honestly) on Wednesday night.

Being a “glass half full type of guy” here’s my observations in order….

Park head and the playing surface looked fantastic.

    Their keeper looked …good.

    Our Captain was …irreplaceable.

    The Green Brigade were ..sublime

The Referee was …..a Breath of fresh air.

Supporting Celtic is a huge privilege that should never be taken for granted,so don’t.

His ball through to Izzy for the Hooperman’s first goal v the deid wans was pretty good too. Izzy got all the credit for that but Sammi’s pass was sublime.

  9. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

His winning of 90% of ball that was kicked from our keepers wisnae bad either.

KevJ – I read a wee bit this morning slagging Phil Mac, everybody is allowed an opinion but when you lord Shug Keevins & Gerry McNee but then call Phil out for regurgitating a story, oh my goodness me, McNee & Shug used to be shock jocks, to even give them the same credence is a aughable, sorry Kev J you are even further off the mark than normal, I might be incorrect but I don’t think Shug or Gerry in there hey day ever needed the NUJ to back them up for doing their jobs, if in fact did they ever do their jobs.? (Rhetorical question)

  12. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Nope, I would never want a player like that to come back to Celtic……..no sireee.
