The future is Scott Bain’s, if he can grasp it

842

It’s just another story of a player sitting in the stands at Dundee before moving to the bench at Hibs and then a four year contract at Celtic.  All in less than four months.  Scott Bain is 26 years old and were it not for a personal issue with Neil McCann would still be at Dens Park.

Instead, he will see out his 20s as a Celtic goalkeeper.  He is 11 years younger than Dorus de Vries (37) and 9 younger than Craig Gordon (35).  He caught Brendan Rodgers eye and is now a development project for the manager.  The future is his, if he can grasp it.

Congratulations on your new contract, Scott.

I saw you mention that 25/5 might be a problem for you. Well,it might be a problem for a helluva lot of people on here too.

Bitofado apparently, that night. Maybe best not bother with the quiz. Be wasted on the one or two available.

They might still be hungover on 1/6,btw!!!

Tell him you’ll dock his wages at £12 a week unless he renews. He’s a smart lad, does the maths, signs up.

    If that was legal, absolutely.

    Speaking of firemen

Does anyone recall Edward Ursus who posted here for many years. He was a Rangers fan (and I say Rangers because thats what they were back then) and a very decent guy who enjoyed good football banter.

Anyhow I never met him but the late Pablophanque had and he told me that he (Edward Ursus) was a top guy and had been a fireman but had been forced to retire early after being injured while rescuing people from a fire. An all round decent human being.

Unfortunately he was hounded off the blog by people calling him a hun etc.

Whats the point of my story.? I dont know but the Fireman talk reminded me of him

  11. By the way, Dundee Utd equalised about 5 minutes ago…

  12. WITS,

I remember Edward Ursus well. Imo, he was a valued contributor to this site. I didn’t realise he had been hounded off by some on here. Sad to learn that. Wish he was still here.

Edward was a gentleman, like many Rangers-supporting Ayrshire fellas of my acquaintance. He was pretty much part of the fabric on here for a long time, and then,as you say,he got ganged up on by some newbies.

    It wasn’t pleasant,that’s for sure.

Double JD and Coke,Annick Tavern in Dreghorn. That should drag him out of the woodwork.

  14. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS bobby dont know if ive told you this, but every year at st augustines in the brig, the school outing went to either ayr or troon. the 2 times we went to ayr on the way home the bus got stopped on the outskirts of ayr by the police, sirens blaring, marched on the bus told the driver some shopkeepers had complained about pupils stealing, anyway they found nothing and let us go after about an hour, was it because our school was catholic?.hh.

  15. There have been numerous posters hounded off this site. It does us no credit.

  17. I too remember Edward Ursus, but dont recall him being hounded from the blog,

far as i remember he gave up on senior football and moved to watching the juniors,

Defo improving,sir-and thanks for asking. Had a check-up,progress report this afternoon. Doc content with recovery, weight gain, etc. Not happy about continued breathlessness though.

That hopefully will improve, but bloody weird that I’ve never been short of breath in forty or so years of smoking-can it,canny walk the length of myself!

    I’ll be fit for Belfast,though.

  26. Hypothetically: If Celtic are awarded a major European final, will Peter Lawwell finally get the credit he deserves.?
