The Res 12 ‘news’

622

Credit to STV, who at least called Uefa to ask what was going on, and got a taste of the correspondence, with the carefully chosen words, “Rangers’ three-year exclusion from playing in Europe after going into liquidation was the major factor in a case not being pursued”.

Uefa’s correspondence to the Requistioners was far more explicit on the new club/same club point, and took no cognisance of other matters (5-way Agreement, anyone?).

It’s remarkable (and a credit to all involved) that Uefa responded to the Resolution 12 questions over two weeks ago but news didn’t leak.  It’s simply not been possible for the guys to comment while matters progress, and despite yesterday’s ‘news’, they have avoided the temptation to fire off a response (others have also felt it imprudent to step into a public debate) for what remains an issue under legal guidance.

I know the lack of public information is frustrating (as is the associated flack, b.t.w.), but my best recommendation is that we let them get on with it.

I hope you have a great time in Donegal.in letterkenny you are 8 miles from An Tearmann.call in visit Doon Well, say a prayer at the mass rock, steeped in the history of ancient clans.

Go on out to Gartan, birthplace of St Columba, it has a heritage centre.it is simply stunning part of donegal.

Glenveagh national park onthe road to Dunlewey is beautiful and the ‘hills of donegal’ come into their own with the Muckish to Errigal range of mountains and the poison glen.

    I am kinda biased :-)

    Youll enjoy yourselves for sure

    All the best

  2. Headtheball…………….The vast majority of people would like to see both teams from the island of Ireland doing well. I just cannot get my head around listening to God Save The Queen being played before the North Irl games. It’s about bloomin’ time they changed it to Danny Boy or something original.

  3. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Thom the Tim, thanks for that update.

I know this will never happen but our media should put more emphasis on other clubs in our league to promote our game .

We should also be promoting our game but I havent a clue how it could be done without us mentioning the second club to play out of Ibrox.

Does encroachment not exist at penalties anymore?

At least two Croatian players in the box before Ramos takes the penalty.

It wasn’t a penalty but encroachment seems to be ignored now.

I have to confess that I never cheer for norn ireland. Always hope they are beaten.

I know I should grow up etc but I am an old fashioned un reconstructed anti orange bigot and proud of it. .

  6. Not to mention Hurst’s shot that never crossed the line.

Will there be a documentary 50 years on called “The Goal that Never Was “. ?

“Hand of God” will bring back some nice memories of a great Schadenfreude moment.

Wonder if they’ll show the scrappy Maradona winner in that match.

    A.B.E !

  7. Most of the Spanish players have been involved in the Champions League and the Europa up to the final stage as well as all the domestic competitions obviously success is the great antidote to fatigue.

The only time I have cheered for the occupied 6 counties was as a 16 year old schoolbhoy in 1982. Strange considering the times.

Delaney’s, my dad grew up inTemple before moving to Great Western Road just along from the old Knightswood primary school.

  11. First time I’ve seen a ‘keeper save a penalty by diving at the ‘taker’s feet!

Why do you feel you need to grow up?

I always see Ireland as my Country & Northern Ireland Football team as a division between my people. I once did consider supporting Norn Iron until they reneged on a move away from Windsor Park.

This for me was an insult to every Catholic Supporter in the land & further evidence that the IFA were locked in the past.

  13. An Tearman, Thanks for the heads up, Big Mhan, I will certainly make it my business to visit the places you suggest,

WITS, 9.39 Totally agree my ol’ flower.

  14. Oops, sorry, forgot I was on delay tv!

I’ll leave it till it’s all done!

May as well wind on to the goal right enough!

  15. Dallas Dallas –

Nothing prophetic I’m afraid I just posted as soon as the ball went in!

    I would remind you I DON’T DO FORECASTS!!! ;-)
