The Res 12 ‘news’

622

Credit to STV, who at least called Uefa to ask what was going on, and got a taste of the correspondence, with the carefully chosen words, “Rangers’ three-year exclusion from playing in Europe after going into liquidation was the major factor in a case not being pursued”.

Uefa’s correspondence to the Requistioners was far more explicit on the new club/same club point, and took no cognisance of other matters (5-way Agreement, anyone?).

It’s remarkable (and a credit to all involved) that Uefa responded to the Resolution 12 questions over two weeks ago but news didn’t leak.  It’s simply not been possible for the guys to comment while matters progress, and despite yesterday’s ‘news’, they have avoided the temptation to fire off a response (others have also felt it imprudent to step into a public debate) for what remains an issue under legal guidance.

I know the lack of public information is frustrating (as is the associated flack, b.t.w.), but my best recommendation is that we let them get on with it.

Saltires, after that game finished , the guy I was down there with and me , went to get something to eat.

A wee guy who wasn’t English, and looked like someone Farage , Gove etc dont want here, told two England fans that their team was rotten. The two England fans started chasing him but thankfully he was too quick for them.

    Dear Brendan

Please sign as many of the Croatian national team as your budget will allow. All of them if at all possible

    Cheers

  3. Italy v Spain, Stade de France, Monday. I’ll be there, looking forward to it, wasn’t expecting those two when I got tickets.

  4. What Is The Stars…………Nice gesture by the Republic supporters in memory of the young North Irl lad during the Swedish game , could we hope for the same response if the opposite was the case.

Hopefully Italy will be saving their energy tomorrow night …for the forthcoming ding dong with Spain

  8. 3RD PLACED TEAMS IN EACH GROUP –

    A – Albania 3 pts GD -2

    B – Slovakia – 4 pts GD 0

    C – N Ireland – 3 pts GD 0

    D – Turkey – 3 pts GD -2

So Slovakia and Northern Ireland both definitley through.

    Group E

Currently Italy through on 6. 2nd and 3rd all to play for with Belgium on 3 and Sweden and ireland both on 1. Quite possible that the 3rd place team will have just 1 point. Equally, if either Sweden or Ireland win they will be through in either 2nd or 3rd place. Draws are no use to either Sweden or Ireland.

    Group F

Too close to call with Hungary on 4, Iceland and Portugal on 2 and Austria on 1.

    Yes lovely gesture.

Sport of course should over ride all petty national squabbles. .even the tommies and jerries put down their guns on Christmas Day in 1914 to play football.

But I just can’t support the failed entity as the “great”charlie haughey once described it.

Saltires, cafe heehaw we went to.

There was a real nasty atmosphere about there. After about ten minutes walking , we decided it would be better and safer going back to the hotel.

Only if Portugal draw is a higher scoring draw than Icelands. Iceland above Portugal at the moment due to more goals scored

My grandad never visited Paradise after he was blinded. He visited his favourite Partick and Anderston hostelries by bus though. He would sit on the pavement in Temple at the bus stop. The clippie would help him to his seat, and the driver would drop him at the pub of his choice. :)

  20. Dallas Dallas – worse thing about the Temple boys was that was were I had to go for a kerry-oot!

Buggers were always hanging around the offy and if you didn’t spot a friendly face then the outcome was uncertain.

DD- how big was Mr P? In my minds eye I remember a giant of a man!
