Credit to STV, who at least called Uefa to ask what was going on, and got a taste of the correspondence, with the carefully chosen words, “Rangers’ three-year exclusion from playing in Europe after going into liquidation was the major factor in a case not being pursued”.
Uefa’s correspondence to the Requistioners was far more explicit on the new club/same club point, and took no cognisance of other matters (5-way Agreement, anyone?).
It’s remarkable (and a credit to all involved) that Uefa responded to the Resolution 12 questions over two weeks ago but news didn’t leak. It’s simply not been possible for the guys to comment while matters progress, and despite yesterday’s ‘news’, they have avoided the temptation to fire off a response (others have also felt it imprudent to step into a public debate) for what remains an issue under legal guidance.
I know the lack of public information is frustrating (as is the associated flack, b.t.w.), but my best recommendation is that we let them get on with it.

I am glad that Brendan has retained the services of John Kennedy. It seems he was asked for his views on Scottish fitba and his assesment of the players. Clearly his answers revealed enough by way of useful insight to encourage Brendan to retain his services.
Continuity in management is often underrated and the local knowledge a guy like JK can bring to the new management team can be vital. Little things like how did xxxx respond when he was left out or what guys are sensitive to feedback etc., who are the jokers and who are the quiet loner types? Even down to simple things like knowing where to go if the team bus hits an unexpected diversion. ( titter ye not…) .
I did chuckle at the ‘attention to detail’ comments that mean all the training cones and posts must now be the same colour. That is a wee expense line that will begin to test the patience of the bean counters, maybe a wee subtle nudge to illustrate how the changes in power base? maybe not!
I’m also wondering how the hell Ronnie and John Collins could expect the players to respond properly to their coaching methods when they had to work with odd coloured cones. The place must have been a mad mental, out of control free for all in the last few seasons. ;-)
Seriously, and kidding aside, the management team will make their own assesements on players in time, but having continuity and insights in the early forming stages is worth it’s weight in gold.
One of the hugely impressive things I liked about the old Liverpool was the ‘boot room’ culture, not sure if over-rated or a myth, but the idea of having seasoned fitba men drenched in the history of the club and knowing the local chat and information on the current issues around the players and what makes each one of them tick. When to use the stick or when to cut some slack due to personal pressures, is healthy. It also develops men and future leaders if handled the right way.
Football and structured development planning/delivery is not only about the young players.
