The Res 12 ‘news’

622

Credit to STV, who at least called Uefa to ask what was going on, and got a taste of the correspondence, with the carefully chosen words, “Rangers’ three-year exclusion from playing in Europe after going into liquidation was the major factor in a case not being pursued”.

Uefa’s correspondence to the Requistioners was far more explicit on the new club/same club point, and took no cognisance of other matters (5-way Agreement, anyone?).

It’s remarkable (and a credit to all involved) that Uefa responded to the Resolution 12 questions over two weeks ago but news didn’t leak.  It’s simply not been possible for the guys to comment while matters progress, and despite yesterday’s ‘news’, they have avoided the temptation to fire off a response (others have also felt it imprudent to step into a public debate) for what remains an issue under legal guidance.

I know the lack of public information is frustrating (as is the associated flack, b.t.w.), but my best recommendation is that we let them get on with it.

You beat me to it. I was going to ask if any one else remembers the maccallum. Was it names after a Celtic player?

It was named after Neil MCallum’s nephew Dennis.

  10. The CQN article E-Tims mentions was not written by Paul.

It was collectively compiled and was signed off by the Res 12 guys who have to be careful in what they say as they are in meaningful dialogue with UEFA.

The purpose of the article was to update everyone on the stage they are at and what UEFA had so far stated, on the record. Everything mentioned in the CQN article has been stated by UEFA.

Clumps at the weekend was upset about the lack of a statement from Celtic and is entitled to his opinion. I merely stated that I am now not that bothered if they make a statement or not, given developments. I mentioned that the landscape had changed and it has.

Celtic would probably have said something in PR speak, probably along the lines of what the SFA said when forced to do so on 1st June after the ad appeared in the Tribune de Genéve. Just a guess.

Sometimes actions speak louder than words.

I heard 2 stories on the McCallum ,

1 it was named after neil mccallum, and was 2 scoops of ice cream.

2, it was named for George McCallum , something to do with Clyde, and was a bowl of ice cream with loads of raspberry (to represent the colours of clyde).

JJ must be very sure of his facts to come away with this on his latest blog, which I will reproduce below inside inverted commas. The content is not mine in origin.

“Allow me to translate what King is alleging. He is alleging that Green, Ahmad and Stockbridge received a personal inducement from Mike Ashley when they established the Rangers Retail contract. He is alleging bribery. Mr King is an expert on bribery, as was the case when he bribed Avison Carlisle and Iain Gregory Morris at Umgeni Water with equity in his company that continues to trade to this day as Micromega Holdings Group pte Ltd. Mr Morris is a senior executive in this company. He, like King, was passing himself off as an accountant in South Africa.”

That’s an awful lot of allegations, none of them new from him either. He has long stated those opinions. No legal action yet,so I assume there is sufficiency in fact for them to stand unchallenged.

Which is that an uber-Rangers fan knows his club is controlled by a crook with previous and continuing. And that our media and regulators ar condoning it.

@STVGrant……….Just a wee reminder for you fella. And it would be invaluable for the rest of your colleagues to pay heed too. You said, “Res 12 is dead in the water!”…..A bold, but perhaps premature statement.

When the Res 12-ers blow this thing wide open. when there is simply no lie big enough to cover what is exposed. No spin that can be spun. A world where fans realise they have been “Duped” of their hard-earned emotional and real cash, and had their loyalties abused, not only by those in fitba’ but by the off the radar reporting in this country, where do you go from there?…. Are you good at lifting heavy things?

Every other day I see SMSM agendas and lies exposed and archived on-line. but this is generally done by reasonably moderate, temperate folks. What happens when those whose idea of “restraint”, is to engage in pitched battles on a park in their attempts to right perceived wrongs, stop believing?.

Of course not all are so ready with their fists, and there are those who would rather just send a damaging and forceful “letter of complaint”

I was going to ask that when that day arrives, from what angle will you be reporting on your own mis-reporting,? But I think a more pertinent question would be, “Where you gonna hide fella?”

Maybe it’s time to say, “Fair enough ! We’ve had our wee laugh. Time to get back to work and get some real reporting done”

If I was a reporter, I would be thinking, there is no “scoop” in the Res 12-ers issue so no point trying to gazump them. They have the direct line. But I would be of a mind that they would keep me informed when they had anything to report. Hopefully they will tell me first….Maybe throw me a few leads?

While I am waiting, I think I would have a wee dig about, into what the “The Offshore Game” report claims. It would be a great story to run in parallel with. Do we really need a fully independent inquiry, when calls for transparency are met with “No comment” on every issue raised?……I think that answers itself. !

I would be quite good at that reporting lark, (maybe even win an award) but I am also good at lifting heavy things, so a P45 wouldn’t trouble me too much….What about you Grant…….Is this your one job?

Why do they want to change the name of Murray Park anyway? I thought they reckoned it was all Craig Whyte’s fault….
