CELTIC captain Callum McGregor will make his tenth appearance in a Cup Final against Michael Beale’s Ibrox outfit at Hampden this afternoon.
The 29-year-old Scotland international midfielder will be protecting a proud record – he has been on the winning side on all NINE of his previous silverware showdowns at the national stadium.
And that is not counting his role as an unused substitute when Ronny Deila’s team beat Dundee United to lift the League Cup in March 2015.
THE FINAL SAY…Callum McGregor runs away in delight after lashing the opening goal behind Motherwell keeper Trevor Carson for the opener in Celtic’s 2-0 Scottish Cup 2018 triumph.
McGregor has proved to be unbeatable on these testing occasions and he hopes to be leading his team-mates up the steps at the national stadium to sccept the trophy which was his first as club captain last season when Ange Postecoglou’s men overcame Hibs 2-1.
The Hoops Academy graduate kicked off his remarkable sequence of success when he came on as a 77th-minute substitute for Tom Rogic in the 3-0 League Cup victory over Aberdeen in November 2016.
Here is McGregor’s Hampden haul of fame – so far!
