I’m beginning to believe some of the ‘Unseen..’ paranoia that goes around town myself. Absolutely delighted, and a bit surprised, Fifa ratified John Guidetti’s transfer to Celtic. He’s a player we have tried to buy for three consecutive summer transfer windows; this guy has been watched, courted and pursued by Celtic, Feyenoord, Ajax and no doubt a whole lot more.
Since his marquee season in Rotterdam he’s come through debilitating illness but is now healthy, if in need of some match sharpness.
He is ineligible for the Europa League group stage but will be available for the round of 32 through to the final in Warsaw.
There was a real meeting of minds between player and club on Monday; he liked the way we went about our business and people at the club were impress with his personality. Apparently, he’s another “strong character” to add to the others who have arrived at the club over the last week.
If only we had a song for him….

I was interested in seeing the allleged “leaked” document in that link but instead it’s a pro Better Together article by Anas Sarwar a leading member of the No campaign.

Bobby Sands would probably say it was up to the Scots to decide for themselves.
James Connolly never advocated Scottish independence nor was he ever a member of any organisation that advocated Scottish independence so in my opinion he’d be voting no.
I totally get that it’s not about the SNP but aren’t the other major parties mostly against independence?
What’s the point in handing them an independent Scotland if they advised against it in the first place?
If they get into power and things go wrong they’ll only say, “well, you voted for it!”

Scotland has a wide and varied economy, including oil. How about hydropower, agriculture, tourism, fisheries, wind power , water, whiskey, tumnocks tea cakes and even a wee bit industry. Many Countries with 5 million citizens would make that work in an economic cycle just fine. Without listening to too many experts and just thinking about the places that I have been too, and live in, that fit this scenario I have every expectation that a yes vote would work. There is a risk in the status quo also, it is not a risk free option. Boris or UKIP, or whatever is voted in for you.

I’ll read it all later, but I will read it all. The first post-it noted point is a bit ‘duh really?’ in that it points out that we go from knowing out budget (via the block grant) to not knowing our budget and suggests this volatility is entirely negative. That’s not actually what the paragraph states.
I also note that the document talks of 2010-11 as being in the future. Much has changed in the last 5 years or so. Including Sir Ian Woods report of February this year stating on page 3 – “This review provides the opportunity for it [uk oild and gas] to face its next 30 years and beyond supported by a better resourced, more capable and more involved Regulator that, working with greater industry collaboration, will help take us closer to the 24 billion boe prize potentially still to come”.

I think the Jon Guidetti signing could prove to be the most significant signing Celtic have made in the past 4 years. The players potential is phenomenal and Celtic could give him the platform to go on to do great things. I still haven’t quite forgiven Celtic for not signing Alfred Finboggasson when we had the chance, but this goes some way to assuaging my frustration. Believe the hype, this guy is unique in world football, a Swedish striker part raised in Kenya whose been courted by top, top clubs since he was 15. If we can sign him permanently we might just be onto something big. I just hope he gets a chance at Celtic.
