Time for expensive signings, the 1254125 10k

1606

Motherwell travel to Celtic Park tomorrow on a mission.  A win would see them draw level with Celtic, and after a physically and mentally draining Champions League midweek game, they will fancy their chances.  Inverness remain top of the league on goal difference, but this is the third consecutive season Motherwell have tucked in below Celtic.  They will not finish above Celtic, of course, but this is likely to be our toughest test of the season.

As well as the result, there should be other objectives from tomorrow’s game.  We are eight games into our European campaign but our two most expensive summer signings, Teemu Pukki and Derk Boerrigter, and still to settle into the team.  Both should start against Motherwell.

For reasons you know too well, I thought it would be a good idea to do the Great Scottish Run on Sunday in aid of 1254125.  I have (just) setup a Mydonate page, if you have been unable to participate in any event so far, you can do so online now.

Many thanks for your support.

  1. Where was Focus yesterday? I didnt see usual knot of polis GB watchers.

Have they been reigned in or were they after another clubs tennage ultras ?

  2. As I said earlier when offering a tribute to George Ryan I never knew him but wouldn’t it be reading about him on here and realising what a great campaigner he was against injutice in all its forms, wouldn’t it be nice if a tangible tribute could be paid by the Green Brigade in the form of a banner at Celtic Park.

I am sure if a fund were set up the necessary cash would be contributed by members on this site?

Another way the Govanites could pay tribute would be to vote for the Fans Against Criminalisation candidate in Thursday’s council election in Govan.

Just my thoughts on a man I never met or knew, but who will live on by his example it would seem.

losing Sammi would be a disaster

The other two …I’m on record as no fan of either

Stokes can’t be relied upon and Ledley hides in big games when CFC are under pressure ….

However …extremely poor management to let three international players run their contracts down …..

Obviously preoccupied with selling players in the summer …..

  5. The length of time in getting on a replacement for Matthews was concerning and baffleing. Could be costly against stronger opponents.

However we were so dominant that even with 10 it looked like Celtic had the extra player.

  6. The substitution situation for Adam Mathews was very annoying to say the least, 5 mins to get a sub. On, yer having a laugh, and it’s not the first time either, this situation should be looked at, it was amateur night, Neil….SORT IT, other than that a great performance, but then again I watched the mullets post game interview, seems I was at another game, ah well!
