Topping’s who knew what when?

2675

In his Q&A session with the Daily Record yesterday, outgoing SPFL chairman, Ralph Topping touched on the subject of who knew what when, regarding Rangers slide into liquidation saying:

“There wasn’t one single person ever who envisaged this case happening. You tell me who pointed out that this was going to happen – did you?

“The biggest assumption about the set-up in the SPL would be that you would have Rangers and Celtic playing in it in perpetuity – nobody thought that those two bastions of football would ever be involved in anything like this and nobody flagged it up.”

Well, in October 2011 I knew.  This CQN article from 27 October 2011 notes in very specific detail Rangers were going to liquidate, a phoenix would be created which wanted direct access to the SPL (the top flight at that time).  I got the timing wrong, predicting the phoenix would take place during the season, but to be fair, it later became clear this was Craig Whyte’s plan at the time.

Ralph Topping’s SPL knew too.  Rangers alerted them to the situation that very month.  The SPL spend November, December and January preparing the ground for Rangers administration and liquidation, a period during which a new TV deal was signed.

That will be a rubbish boycott everybody is on the home ticket scheme this season so money will be deducted from accounts nullifying a bhoycott :-)

  2. Here, are the Scottish football authorities offsetting the Sevco home draws by giving us home draws in parallel. Have they noticed that we noticed????

Auldheid in terms of evidence I don’t see our host openly discussing res12 or putting pressure on the board to act. as you and I know he is very close to Mr Lawwell. There is no cognitive dissonance in my post if all that CQN ever does is go on about this stuff while at the same time effectively just selling us all down the river.

    =====================

I hope you like egg because in terms of our host you are going to have it all over your face.

For a smart guy you seem unable to accept that Celtic can only do so much within the laws of the game.

    ==========================================

For all your patience auldheid we find ourselves having been openly cheated with our club doing absolutely nothing about it (actually that’s not fair they are undermining us all at every turn so they are doing something). For example, this latest SPFL guff. It’s laughable right? But the fact is that this strategy was put together and agreed some time ago. And Mr Lawell was part of that.this makes Celtic statement post the ebt judgement clearer. They acted in concert and the call for a “review” can now be seen in the light of what the SPFL put out there. CQN meanwhile points it’s fingers at everyone but Celtic. It’s completely disengenious. In fact it’s worse. It’s an utter betrayal.

Hebcelt. All of the available “evidence” points to Celtic colluding. What evidence do you have to the contrary?

    ======================

For all my patience and the other 3 lads there are many many more folk now acquainted with the evidence of skulduggery that has brought us to this point. Infinite patience produces immediate results. The result is Celtic have to respond in a much different way than 3 years ago.

Patience isn’t sitting at a keyboard and complaining, patience is recognising that there is no moment but the present and acting in it, one moment at a time. Some of those moments meant sitting at a keyboard, others meant doing more than that, much more.

As I said in regard to our host, who btw has had to face up to the same disappointments along the road as the Res12 boys but has persisted in his own way, how do you like your eggs? Poached or sunny side up?

I recommend poached, I do a good toast.

If we are being honest, they have no need for all the secrecy, just look at the referees, they cheat in broad daylight and nobody bats an eyelid, as for their masters, so do they and it’s the same, nobody says anything.

How sad is that in 2017 ?

Yeah i agree. They dont need the secrecy now.

They just do what they like.

They know there is nobody to challenge them, especially not the Howard Hughes like PLC.

They say what goes, the PLC bow their heads.

My reason for asking was whether the Huns had been given another home draw or were

    They one of the seeds

  12. THE GREEN MAN

    Ye canny just say that!!!!!

Were you not just moderated for not backin’ up a post without proof?

    Where’s yer proof then.

Mmmm, I can see this is not going to work.

    :-)

  13. Sorry ghuys but you can’t suggest the huns got a home draw on purpose unless you can prove it!!

    Get with the programme!

    OMG are we being programmed?

  14. Jimmynotpaul on

    MMPD. 5.52.

Yes, they were one of the seeds, along with us Aberdeen, Ayr, Dundee United, Falkirk, Motherwell and St Johnstone.

The draw is actually fixed so that four seeded teams are drawn at home and four away.

Celtic, Sevco, St Johnstone and Falkirk were the 4 seeded teams who received home ties.

Aberdeen, Ayr, Motherwell and Dundee Utd received away ties.

    Hail Hail.

  15. TGM and others

I was reading an article a fellow CQNer emailed then watched the end of a programme I recorded last night so delay in replying to your question re multiple posters.

I suppose the flip answer would be ‘ask them’ but in the case of Noakes/Thompson/Pastry/Quimby I think it was to promote a specific political idea that was pro- union, pro ‘New Labour’ and anti- SNP in the aftermath of the 2014 referendum and the run up to the General Election of 2015. I do not know if it is the poster of that era is the same as one who now posts using what looks to be an anagram but their is a common theme of an anti-Scottishness with an undertone of religious bigotry that I regard as being anathema to most on here- including Macjay who I disagree with about many things but who is not a religious bigot or an apologist for New Labour.

I am sure there are many other multiple posters – some will be here because they are Huns, others will be here to promote political ideas- there were 2 or 3 pro Independence trolls at the time of Noakes et al. Others who post under different names will be here to take the Mick thlnking they are as funny as Peter Cook/Sven phoning uo radio stations late at night

Moderator, the above is in reply to a specific question.

Anne Duff. You have been vouched for by a well respected poster so apologies if I have accused you of being daughter of Noakes and instead welcome you. This site needs more female posters as it can be a bit lads club when Judith Ralston does the weather. Bizarrley enough. And you are not a hun are you?

  16. Here you lot with your seeded/home draw explanations.

Stop poking holes in my Sevco home draw conspiracy theories with your new fangled logic and understanding of the rules….

    What kind of proof ?

I might not be able to provide documented proof, although these day, who knows…..that blogger JJ seems to pull a few out.

However, id say that a totally corrupt SFA/SPFL cabal telling us to forget the cheating and move on, is proof that the PLC have not been protecting the interests of Celtic.

Its not in the interests of Celtic to be cheated, so why the PLC remain mute, you can draw your own conclusions.

I could go on all day about the refusal of the PLC to tackle racism and violence against Celtic players, and supporters.

When people remain silent, they usually have a reason.

In any other sphere of life, if you remain silent about cheating, even though you have knowledge of it. What would we call that?

    Anyway:)

    TET…

Aye,but can you prove they cheated?

Years ago I knew a fair few huns and I can confirm that winning was all they cared about, if they had to cheat so be it, if Timmy was on the losing end all the better, thankfully I no longer know many huns but the few I do know think along the same lines, a very different breed to us altogether.

There is one here that I come across every now and again, he hates my Mrs, she takes the piss out of him every time she claps eyes on him, he deserves everything she throws at him, a typical hun, her latest was asking him why he didn’t have a wee march to celebrate the glorious 12th, he doesn’t have the balls to say anything, another typical hun trait.

Good on young O, taxi duty ? Am sure you wouldn’t have it any other way :-)

Surely by the law off averages the new klub must get an away draw at some point (Celtic park doesn’t count that just keeps the lights on and the off shore accounts bulging :-) Alledgedly

  23. 12 home draws in a row in cups (excepting league cup sectional games last season which were home and away), since away to ‘Airdrie’ in August 2015, for Sevco.

Scottish Cup: SEVCO 2-1 Motherwell; SEVCO 2-1 Morton. SEVCO 6-0 Hamilton Accies.

    2015/16:

Challenge Cup: SEVCO 1-0 Livingston; SEVCO 4-0 St Mirren.

League Cup: SEVCO 1-3 St Johnstone.

Scottish Cup: SEVCO 5-1 Cowdenbeath; SEVCO 0-0 Kilmarnock; SEVCO 4-0 Dundee.
