Amid the general hilarity on Scottish football at the moment I’m sure it’s not escaped Ronny Deila’s attention that we have one of our most important games of the season coming up on Saturday. The league is a marathon without any specific focus, the League Cup final is another huge game, but facing Dundee away is exactly the kind of game a club who are chasing a treble often lose.
It was Dundee who knocked the Aberdeen bandwagon off its tracks. Given half a chance they will do the same to Celtic on Saturday.
Kenny McDowall must have felt a bit humiliated at being told he has to pick players on loan from Newcastle United, although clearly not humiliated enough to tell them to stuff the remainder of his contract.
Llambias’ instruction appears bizarre, but there’s always two sides to each story. If McDowall informed his chief executive that he would not use the players, for reasons other than sporting merit, Llambias may well feel justified in making the instruction.
This public shaming of Llambias, the board, and by extension, Mike Ashley, is another act in a dirty battle. Still, “It’s not personal, Sonny. It’s strictly business”, as Dave King almost said about Ashley yesterday.
Ashley’s men may be robbed of the ability to pick the team after an EGM next month, but he remains able to inflict a lot of ‘assistance towards the club’ before then. If I can paraphrase Tom Hagan, ‘Mr Ashley never asks a second favour once he’s refused the first, understood?’ When personal offence has been taken, sometimes even good business isn’t enough to bring a ruthless patriarch to the table.
When news of the attack on the 10-year-old boy broke on Monday I assumed it would be a matter of hours before the offender was charged. Three days on without news is concerning. It appears that those who associate with people who believe random violence is acceptable and care little about the application on justice – which has nothing to do with any specific policing issue.
Hard cash is now available to anyone with information leading to an arrest. If you can’t report the offender for the sake of the victim, do it for the money. You don’t need to be a witness to report the issue and collect the reward, you just need to know enough to get the ball rolling.
Well done to all who have gotten involved in the appeal to help the victim, especially organiser Rod Lee. Stunning work, Rod.

The semantics of those arguing with me at the moment and the same people who implied the boy was attacked and bottled, agree whole hearted lay with the semantics of the RST statement which was written to have a go at the whole Celtic support. They might as well have written the RST statement.

My interpretation of the phrase ‘glassed’ would mean that this didn’t happen to him either, it would mean that the child was the intended victim. I suspect that some people have watched ‘Trainspotting’ too many times.
Questions
If you had a ten year old son who had been injured in a street attack/incident would you want to put him in front of television cameras to talk about it and answer questions?
What cost/benefit analysis would you apply in making that decision bearing in mind your responsibility for the welfare of the child should be paramount?

Pressing the cqn logo just wasn’t working.

When it comes to criminal matters (and that is what we are dealing with here), there is (and needs to be) a presumption of innocence. However, there seems to be rush to judge and condemn not just the person who threw the bottle,but now also anyone who was there .There are many reasons why people may not wish to come forward. In my business, I see many people who dont want to get involved, and while it can be frustrating, often times, once I learn why they may be afraid to come forward, I am much less inclined to judge them. In this particular case, some people may have (not unreasonably) lost faith in our Board (quickly becoming a star chamber) and the legal system in Scotland to act fairly and impartially as against anyone even remotely seen to be involved.
Another problem I have is, generally, if people are guilty by their silence ….when Celtic PLC is (at best, silent) on (i) the behaviour of sevconians towards Celtic fans, and (ii) clearly illegal behavior by Sevconians, does this mean that Celtic PLC “cares little about the application of justice”?
Because, as far as I can see (and we seem to be using the ‘it appears’ test to judge people, so I presume it is fair to use the same test on Celtic PLC, they are doing nothing to help the victims of discriminatory laws in Scotland (and, again, it APPEARS, may be complicit in these laws

Canamalar et al – I love a semantic argument as I’m an arch pedant.
So here we have a despicable act of a bottle being thrown either into or in a mini-bus and a 10 yr old getting his teeth knocked out and a fracture. He was the victim of an attack, he was not actually attacked.
I’m not going to split hairs on whether the bus was attacked or the people on board were but strictly speaking the bus being attacked would imply the bottle was thrown at the bus rather than in it.
Nor am I going to get into the distinction of ‘bottled’ being thrown or still in hand. As far as I’m concerned it means he was hit by a bottle, which he was.
Canamalar – my big issue with your line is that you’ve failed to condemn this moronic event in each an every one of your posts – although I know you have in earlier comments. While arguing that others have backed up the SMSM narrative, you have left yourself open to your comments being lifted and giving the impression that the attack is not being condemned and in a couple of cases it looks like sheer ‘whataboutery’ and ‘Chelseafan-ism’ more typical of them.
I know it’s tedious to keep repeating yourself but in this instance you need to or you too are guilty of doing the dirty work for them.
Whoever it was they need brought to justice and frankly I think we should all just shut up about it now.

Some fair points.
Years ago, before the LC semi final, they won 1-0 a Hateley goal, if I remember right, me and some mates were attacked by Rangers supporters, near Cathcart Rd. They piled off their buses just at Pastor Jacks old church and ran at us. Think they were expecting a game of chases. Only a few of them decided to get physical, when their quarry didnt run and they were dealt with.
Those Huns were from Dennistoun.
A week or so later, I sat in the sauna at Whitehill and listened to some of the same braggarts, tell their version and boast about giving some Tims a doing after we challenged them…..

Remember when Lenny was attacked on a Glasgow Street, a Rangers fan I know was only too keen to tell me her nephew was a fireman in Glasgow and the Police had told him it was two Celtic fans who started arguing with Lenny it got heated ended up they knocked Lenny unconscious.
Seems like every incident they had an excuse, whatabotery or just pure hunguffery as in the case above.

I have condemned on numerous occasions and been very clear about that.
The fact that no one on here actually knows what happened yet a few actually make out the boy was attacked grinds my gears.
I initially made the observation that had the perpetrator woke up full of remorse and genuinely wanted to surrender themselves to the authorities will now be put off because he is now considered by some to had deliberately set out to maim the child.
That IMO has cornered him in as he has very little chance now to be considered anything but a monster
