Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

If all this proof is at hand and has been for some time , why in the name of God are those people not locked up , instead of still in situ at the HQ of Scottish. Football . Why is our absent landlord and the rest of Scottish football not letting their voices be heard . Every club in the land is playing against a stacked deck . . Also why is uefa not Taking an interest in this , they are on the ball when a flare gets set off .

Can I recommend a book I received as a Christmas present called The Scrap,by Gene Kerrigan.

An excellent book one of the best I have read on Easter Week 1916. Based on statements given to the Irish Military History Bureau by survivors the author has put together a great story of the experiences of a group of ordinary young men ( mainly) from Dublin who played their part that week.

    A great read

I think I jinxed the Dandy dons today by taking them on LMS6. Seriously though they had a big chance today to show they are up for the challenge, and they failed (again).

Lets see what side turns up tomorrow for us. Any news on Lee Griffiths? Is he fit to play?

  14. The sorties at maryhill post depot are working hard over Christmas when one of them comes across a letter that’s addressed to God. In heaven.

    Dear God.

This is sister Mary from the parkhead parish. It’s been a tough year here and we can’t afford the pensioners dinner unless we find 500 pounds then there are going to be some lonely and hungry old faithfuls this year.

Anything you can do to help us find that 500 Pounds will be grateful received.

    Amen.

The postie takes pity and organises a wip round in the depot. He puts the collection in an envelope and sends it back to sister Mary. Raising 200 pounds.

    My beloved Mary.

I am happy you meet the needs of our faithful in parkhead and I enclose something to feed the flock.

A couple of weeks later the postie sees another letter addressed to God in heaven. Happily he decides to open the letter and gathers the sorters around to read it out.

    Dear God.

Thank you for the help to feed the pensioners. As you know I asked for 500 pounds. Unfortunately them orange bastard postmen at maryhill depot intercepted our letters and stole three hundred.

A stranger to Glasgow met his pal at Central Station. It was obvious that someone had recently punched his face.

His pal asked, “What on earth happened to you then?”

The chap replied, “I’ve no idea why, but a barmaid just belted me in the face! I was just killing a bit of time in a pub and my luggage bag was in the way, so I asked the barman if he would mind keeping it behind the bar. He was happy to do this for me. When I went back to collect it later, this barmaid was on duty. All I said to her was, ‘Any chance of getting my holdall?’ and she hit me!”

To all those who are working tirelessly to shed light and bring proper justice on those who have connived to undermine the integrity of our game, ignore the slings and arrows of the doubters and continue digging and prodding.

To all those who decry our management and boardroom, don’t stop because although we don’t necessarily agree, your raves and rants help keep us grounded.

I hope you all had a hearty and holy Christmas surrounded by those you love and even some of those you don’t love as much.

And finally in the immortal words of the Rev I M Jolly

    “For those who live alone……..

    “Mind your backs.”
