U-TURN: CELTIC IN NEW TALKS WITH TEEN ACE

CELTIC’S move for St Mirren whizzkid Dylan Reid is back ON.

The Hoops’ move for the Scotland Under-19 midfielder is the summer stalled with the news the youngster preferred to remain at the Paisley club where he would get first-team experience.

A bid of £125,000 was rejected last month, as CQN reported.

Reid, 17, delivered his ambitions to the champions’ recruitment chiefs and that looked like being the end of the Parkhead interest in one of the country’s hottest prospects.

However, Reid has made only one appearance in Stephen Robinson’s top side this season in a Premier Sports League Cup-tie and that could alter the teen ace’s thought process.

There have now been fresh talks over his future with Ange Postecoglou’s side returning to the negotiating table, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

It appears discussions between the two clubs and the player’s representatives have restarted ahead of Thursday’s midnight transfer deadline.

Reid came through from the St Mirren Academy as one of their 2005 group and was fast-tracked through the ranks. He graduated from the SFA Performance Schools before turning full-time.

The Hoops plan to place Reid in their B team before nurturing him as a potential first-team squad member.

The clock is ticking as talks continue.
