UnCommons Moneyball gem

857

Someone made the point to me over the weekend, 30 goals, and counting, from midfield, rivals 53 from Henrik Larsson as a central striker.  It is an unnecessary burden to compare Kris Commons to Celtic’s greatest player in four decades, even Henrik couldn’t compare to the memory of Henrik, but the history books will show for decades to come, Kris Commons is a rare gem, a Celtic player for the ages.

He’s the definition of a Moneyball player, he’s a great multiple Player of the Year and he’s ours.

Enjoy watching him.

Issue 20 of CQN Magazine, CQLisboN is out and enjoying great reviews. You can check it out here, for free, now….

Hopefully, it will keep their spacious-but-empty display cabinet and their big-director’s-meeting table dust free, and shiny and clean.

What they seek and what they get are often not the same.

At his age, it is possible that Kris will come no where near the form he has shown this year.

I believe at this stage, it would be length of contract, rather than remuneration, that would be of prime concern.

I also believe that Neil was quite sanguine about Ledley moving on, as he will be re Sammi.

He wants to add pace to his squad, however, with senior players, like,Joe, Charlie, Stokes, Commons and, to a certain extent,Sammi, in his first team pool, he will never be able to achieve this.

Enter Johannsen, Griffiths and Pukki, to date, and you have an overnight injection of pace ; and it shows on the pitch.

I agree was just highlighting the magic 30 number in professional players, was always the cut off point for players heading towards the kanckers yard :o)

Scary to think that C Ronaldo is hurtling towards the big 30 scary to think how much money any club in the world would pay him. 50+ goals in the last 4 seasons, wow.

Sign him up Celtic, if only the board hadnt trousered all that money ;o)
