MUBARAK WAKASO has the opportunity tomorrow to become the first Celtic player this season to win a medal.

The winger, on loan from Russian outfit Rubin Kazan until the end of the campaign, will line up for Ghana against the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations Final.

Wakaso, who last played for the Hoops in the 4-3 Europa League tie against Dinamo Zagreb on December 11, netted the crucial second goal as his country overwhelmed host nation Equatorial Guinea 3-0 l in the semi-final during the week.

He was taken off near the end, but is expected to start against the Ivory Coast on the right wing.

If the Ghanians are successful, Wakaso will resume his temporary deal at Parkhead at the end of the week.

The rest of the Hoops will have to wait until March 15 and the League Cup Final against Dundee United before they have the chance to join him in the silverware stakes.
