Walk with Shay 1

Incredible pieces of Celtic History that you could win

As you may already know, we have 2 Celtic tops (1 home and 1 away) signed by the last 11 Club Captains of Celtic Football Club spanning the past 53 years of our unbroken history, from Billy to Broony. These items have been professionally designed and framed, containing all the players’ relevant stats. These truly are two of a kind and are a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the proud owner of.  The signing of the tops took us around 18 months to achieve and the journey and story behind this was amazing. We plan to share this story with you over the coming weeks.

We are also delighted to announce that the money raised from the Captains tops (and other special prizes) will not only support Shay but also the wonderful work of the Celtic FC Foundation.

This is our plan

The WalkWithShay Campaign is now fully registered with the Licensing Board to run lotteries (raffles); and we are planning to hold our 1st raffle where the First Prize will be the Away Club Captains top, together with many other great Celtic related prizes.  The draw date for this raffle will be 25th May 2017 (no need to remind you of the significance of that date). We need help to sell our raffle tickets for £5 each and spread awareness before then. Yes, that’s right, you could win the Away top for just £5!!!! The Home top will be raffled/auctioned or sold at a later date.

This is where we need your help…

We’re looking for

67 Supporters Clubs / Groups / Associations / Online Communities/Businesses/Establishments or super Individuals to each sell up to 50 (Lisboa) tickets @£5 each

This will form our Green Battalion

and

67 individuals to sell up to 10 (IAR) tickets @ £5 each

This will form our White Battalion

You are of course all welcome to sell more or indeed a smaller quantity of tickets, if you so desire. Regardless of what you sell (or buy) we really appreciate your support.

We would like to have all our sellers registered before Monday 3rd April, which is when we plan to go live with the sale of our raffle tickets. There is a bit of work here to ensure we comply with our license, so please contact us now.

Please help us recruit by sharing our story with your family, friends and colleagues.

Will you Join Wee Shay’s Green Raffle Army?

Are you able and willing to help and support this amazing initiative? If so please email us at walkwithshay@yahoo.com or if you are on Twitter send us a direct message @walkwithshay we are also on Facebook.

Thanks for taking the time to read our update and we really hope you can support Shay and his young family.

Yours forever in Celtic and thank you for Walking with Shay.

  1. SA MOTM for me today… I do think that the number of games and fouls are taking their toll on the Celtic players

  2. Slump continues. Looks like Dembele will be missing for a few weeks. On a serious note,, there is little doubt that the team are flagging a bit. It has been a stupendous season and they are only human, so I for one will not criticise any of them.

The only game that concerns me is the Cup Semi Final. Over to you Brendan.

  3. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Two successive below par performances in a row.

    Action now , Brendan.

  4. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

A hard fought, ground out result .

Not for the first time recently we have been playing with two off form front men, which made it more uncomfortable than it should have been.

Ebouie has a bit to do, but it was only his first league appearance. Time to judge when he gets up to the speed of the game.

  5. I wouldn’t take ‘big money’ for Dembele right now, when he’s on it he’s a special player. Henri, Lubo, Jinky, King Kenny…they all had off days and quiet spells.

  6. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Question, who would take the big money for MD right now.

    Not me , mate.

    Moussa will return.

  7. Stuart Armstrong MoM for me,, Boyata sold himself for their goal …. where the heck is the Griff Brendan … ?

  8. Ron67, Don’t be too hard on him, he is a young Bhoy. He has had a great season. Two bad games doesn’t make him a bad player.

  9. 2nd half If Dundee had tried to play like that they might have had more joy instead they went industrial with the tackles and parked the bus. Still, we got the result we wanted though we’re not flowing like we have been.

  10. glendalystonsils on

If ever a game was crying out for Griff, especially with Moussa right off form.

  11. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

Answer-his value as a player has dropped these last two months. If you read the rags.

IMO,his value is as much in how much he occupies the opposition as in his goals scored.

Early days, but there is a comparison with Drogba. He petrified defenders, and for him the job was done whether he scored himself or if it was a team-mate left unmarked due to teaming up on himself.

  12. Not a great performance. We don’t have enough options to change the game. Our failure to,recruit during the winter transfer window is starting to tell.

  13. Good result. Controlling most of game before getting nervy in last 15 mins. Got to give the Dundee boy credit for that strike after Boyata was ripped a new one to help. Boyata’s only mistake of the game.

Armstrong was my MOM. Broony played well enough but still on a couple of occasions gave away the ball to easily with his passing.

Gordon, you had one shot to save FFS! :-@)))

KT is looking jaded. It’s been a hard full season for him with his injury. I think a wee rest is required for him. Is he in the international squad?

    Sinclair much better today.

Good victory and only one more game to go to wrap up this league before places for the semi are fought for.

Dembele having a wee slump and the ball just not sticking to him. I think a wee change is required to give Leigh a wee shot. Put the pressure back on Dembele to up his game.

    Superb play for second goal.

    MWD

  14. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

    Glenda.

    Agreed re. Griff.

On the other hand , Brendan knows.

  15. Happy to get the win.

First touch, passing and movement for man in posession could be a lot better and below the high standards being set so far this season .

Positives wolud be Jozo , Armstrong and Forrest ( unlucky to get the hook).

Not a stato but know we have played a lot of games this season and may be a factor.

Getting maximum points when not at your best is a sign of a champion team is exactly how the press will report on this afterwards…….:)

  16. Still think we need a ‘lubo’ or ‘maestro’ type play maker – easier said than found. When we were in the ascendancy when the game opened up we were far too slow making a forward pass and more often than not the final ball was poor.

  17. so i’ll be in barcelona for the hearts game. any barca bhoy out there that can direct me to where game will definitely be on? it will be a straight from the airport job. hotel at parallel metro station.

  18. Today was a clear indication in the final third how much we have missed Tom Rogic, he was on fire before he got injured and his return will be welcomed for the final phase of the season..

  19. Tough game from a physical team.

The industrial tactics used aided by refs against us are taking a toll.

Both Lustig and Kieran are looking off the pace.

With both Kieran and Sinclairs drop in form our attacking threat has lessened.

Kouassi will need to learn that refs will take every opportunity to card him.He will also have to up his pace especially in these tight pitches.

I thought Dembele who did not score played well and made them work hard.

This is the reason he plays over Lee.

    Armstrong and Brown played well.

Simo was good and although Boyata was rash at the goal he is entitled to believe someone was covering his back that far from our goal.

Great assists from JF now if only he got more involved he would be sensational. He can make a difference and i feel he may be more productive with Gamboa whose pace on the outside would give him more options.

  20. I’ll take the result but acknowledge that we are in a mini-mini-mini slump these past two weeks without the control and authority that we were showing.

It is very hard for these players, with the league just waiting to be won, to muster up the desire it took to actually win the league.

Brendan will have to use the incentive of SC semi-final and, hopefully final, places in order to maintain standards. I would credit him with shaling hings up today with Nir and Erik dropped/rotated. He may have to consider the Griff for Dembele and Izzy for Kieran switch too for a spell though the International Break might remove the need for all of that.

  21. Don’t agree Neganon … I believe we have enough talent to be able to beat any team in Scotland .. Griffiths, Henderson Bitton GMS and of course we did let Christie go to Aberdeen , also have Tom Rogic to come back …. didn’t thing we needed to use three centre halves today to hang on against Dundee…..

  22. fairhill bhoy on

    Last week I said we were poor and that SS wasn’t playing well,for giving an opinion I was told I wasn’t a ‘real’Celtic supporter.SS,MD were outstanding today,hope that’s me a ‘real’supporter again:-)))

    ————–

    Rogic is that player.

Said it last week, we’re no longer on/in form :O) and you can’t just flick a switch and turn it on again. Very worried about the semi at hamdump.

    Griff needs to be playing.

  24. BTW- Well done to our captain Broonie for that wee spell of flair in the middle of additional time period. It sapped a lot of the heat from the Dundee team.

I also think the Dundee RB Cammy Kerr showed again that he is a promising young player- not Celtic ready but worth monitoring.

Why does BR not play Henderson. ready toplay in SPL better than McGregor strong andd fit

Agree, some away games tailor made for him

  26. Great result up there in Dundee with Dundees 1-2 3 goal victory.

Man of the Match was Neil McCann. His commentary is a different class. Looking forward to sharing a glass of Amarone in The Village in Edinburgh next week with Neil before I visit The Hunner for a proper beer with the Muirhouse Tims. My quest to convert your kids and gran kids to the one true faith that is The Champions of Europe Elect is ongoing.

Your second rate team was pretty pish today. Only 70% possession is poor. Way worse than my greatest teams possession and result from a few weeks ago before Mark gave me the nod because I am far superior to him and my name sounds like The Murinho of Portugal.

Dundee’ some goal was so good to snatch that 4-2 victory for them.

Still haven’t seen any player anywhere as good as my players. We are both beautiful to look at and skillfully out of your league.

I’ll be wishing all my players the best of luck as they head off to Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain to play for the International teams of their choice.

  27. Bhoyfromsky I agree on missing rigid. But football teams need continually freshened. Celtic continually fail to learn that lesson.

    ______

    Oglach

Creating space to receive pass was quite poor throughout.

Man in posession didn’t always have good options and passes where rushed or hopeful pass taken.

As others have mentioned,I think we look a bit leggy

  29. SFTB

I always think opposition defenders look better against us due to refereeing tolerance.

Only watch Celtic so don’t see players in other games.

Boumsong being a classic example of a proven diddy without aid from hun refs.
