Walk with Shay 1

Incredible pieces of Celtic History that you could win

As you may already know, we have 2 Celtic tops (1 home and 1 away) signed by the last 11 Club Captains of Celtic Football Club spanning the past 53 years of our unbroken history, from Billy to Broony. These items have been professionally designed and framed, containing all the players’ relevant stats. These truly are two of a kind and are a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the proud owner of.  The signing of the tops took us around 18 months to achieve and the journey and story behind this was amazing. We plan to share this story with you over the coming weeks.

We are also delighted to announce that the money raised from the Captains tops (and other special prizes) will not only support Shay but also the wonderful work of the Celtic FC Foundation.

This is our plan

The WalkWithShay Campaign is now fully registered with the Licensing Board to run lotteries (raffles); and we are planning to hold our 1st raffle where the First Prize will be the Away Club Captains top, together with many other great Celtic related prizes.  The draw date for this raffle will be 25th May 2017 (no need to remind you of the significance of that date). We need help to sell our raffle tickets for £5 each and spread awareness before then. Yes, that’s right, you could win the Away top for just £5!!!! The Home top will be raffled/auctioned or sold at a later date.

This is where we need your help…

We’re looking for

67 Supporters Clubs / Groups / Associations / Online Communities/Businesses/Establishments or super Individuals to each sell up to 50 (Lisboa) tickets @£5 each

This will form our Green Battalion

and

67 individuals to sell up to 10 (IAR) tickets @ £5 each

This will form our White Battalion

You are of course all welcome to sell more or indeed a smaller quantity of tickets, if you so desire. Regardless of what you sell (or buy) we really appreciate your support.

We would like to have all our sellers registered before Monday 3rd April, which is when we plan to go live with the sale of our raffle tickets. There is a bit of work here to ensure we comply with our license, so please contact us now.

Please help us recruit by sharing our story with your family, friends and colleagues.

Will you Join Wee Shay’s Green Raffle Army?

Are you able and willing to help and support this amazing initiative? If so please email us at walkwithshay@yahoo.com or if you are on Twitter send us a direct message @walkwithshay we are also on Facebook.

Thanks for taking the time to read our update and we really hope you can support Shay and his young family.

Yours forever in Celtic and thank you for Walking with Shay.

My pal is a very good hockey player… didn’t make the NHL, but played pro in Europe then became a lawyer. Got to know his dad… who was even better …is in the HoF. Ended up doing some work for some of his former teammates … initially was surprised at how small they were… but, once you get to know them… even at 80, what really surprised me was how tough these guys were and still are!

Think it is the same for footballers… guys are bigger now… but there was a hardness about the old guys. DOD seems like a throwback sort of player to me.

Hello this is WEE BGFC. Alright troops!! Sorry I haven’t been on in a while – too much school things :-( – but I have got that 1st batch of unit tests out of the way so I’m fine for the time being. I’m sure you’ll all be glad to know that me and Da haven’t missed a game this season :-D. Played very well again today, good performance, good result! Ever closer to the title!!!!!!! Hopefully get it in the bag in a fortnight. Despite the loyalty of me, my Father and so many of you out there who have been to every game/took every ticket on offer we weren’t offered tickets for the potential title winning game. Supposedly we were in the “ballot” but I’m sceptical that there even was a “ballot”!! I’m off to complain tot he box office!! Anyway, a bight and timmy night to all in the meantime!!!

  3. Liverpool have just been given a penalty that was not even close to being as blatant as the one we didn’t get last week, 1.0 as well now for those who have any interest in it

    ——–

EPL refs have some shockers but never because they are bias.

Penalty all day long but as you say not even close to the Hill challenge.

We are on a hiding to nothing, manager/players can’t complain cos they’ll strike, can’t comment cos no one backs us up.

Need the board to issue a blanket statement about how poor they are.

  5. I have said it time and time again, our players are not on the level yet that we can overcome getting the shit kicked out of them, if they were allowed to do the same back they would be fine, but as we all know they retaliate and they are booked or off.

I will NEVER blame the player, give them a level playing field and if they then don’t deliver, I will crit them if needs be, till then, no chance.

    SORT THE REFEREES,SORT THE PROBLEM

    Good three points Celtic.

  6. DESSYBHOY

Yes, and Gary Neville still spouted pish about touching the ball. Even though Clichy took the player down before he was about to strike for goal. To think he gets paid a fortune to talk shots like that.

  7. You have to wonder why Valencia is not the champion of Spain as Neville knows it all .

  8. Scored by a player, Milner, who shouldn’t have been on the pitch after fouling Sterling 2 yards from goal, preventing a tap-in.

    Video refs, yesterday!

  9. Dessybhoy.

Slides in from behind, no chance of winning ball cleanly, kicks Sterling’s right foot as he’s about to tap the ball into an empty net, play on! Ref’s less than 10 yards away. WTF??

  10. A steak, a couple of beers and a wee 250ml ‘bottle’ of cheap Lidl Vino to celebrate that couple* of hours window between one Goals For Shay competition coming to a close and the next one being launched ;-)

    Jobo

    * – any number between 2 and 48…….

  11. Beatbhoy

He has got to see that, video evidence is required now, for a league awash with money you would think that the league would want to get decisions correct, not so it would seem the seem to want the controversy of bad decision standing or maybe they want the refs to influence the outcome of matches to favour others.

  12. Dessybhoy

Did it show you Alan ‘Sebo’ Lalanna’s miss? 8 yards out, ball sitting up nicely, no pressure from a defender, just the keeper to beat. . . Fresh air!

  13. Beatbhoy

Not seen that yet, Im now watching Sportscene until they come on then its off

  14. Dessybhoy

The goal line technology has been a great success, I don’t know what they’re waiting for.

You can bet The ‘S’ men will resist it vigorously up here. . .SFA, SPFL, SMSM and, of course, Sevco.

Never mind the semi final, am sure yir father will get tickets for tynecastle as well :-)

  18. Both Liverpool and City showed how necessary it is to have a good defensive mid.

Both were caught time after time on the break with guys allowed free runs at the centre backs.

Today i watched Spurs and Wanyama did a great job stopping opponents in the vital central area then laying ball off to start attacks

.Chelsea have two in Kante and Matic which is why they are so far ahead of everyone and are an English team that can challenge in the Champions league next season.

Kante is also creative which is a tremendous bonus.

We have not fixed that position yet and if we are to be a force in Europe this area should be our priority.

Bitton is not good enough at this level as he is wrong side often and gives the ball away to often leading to frequent opposition chances which in Europe is fatal.

Kouassi had a stinker today so can’t judge on 20 mins in a frantic game but hopefully he will come good.

Still would like an experienced player for this vital area.

I thought Leicesters early season form was down to not having Kante……

My favourite player in that role ….. Neil Lennon by a country mile
