Watching players on the edge

1018

I like watching a professional perform on the edge. We watched Anthony Stokes do just that at the Cup Final, where despite two superb goals from Gary Hooper, he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. This has not always been the way for Anthony, so has too often failed to command a starting place, and live up to the form he promised all those years ago at Falkirk.

Celtic have put a contract in front of him but it will be considerably lighter than the contract Hooper has no intentions of signing. It’s very much up to Anthony now. Deliver and the riches will follow. Don’t bet against him.

Only just catching up on the somewhat demeaning promotion of a football club hiring a new team bus. Every time I see the coach/manager at that club, buses, or to be more precise, Blakey, from On the Buses comes to mind. These people lend themselves to parody so unselfishly.

Coach/Manager

Inspector Blakey

The fascinating part is, only one of the two above was trying to be ridiculous. You enjoy another day of being a Celtic fan.

    That is Good to hear.

I think the Pre Season has so many people wanting to see the Bhoys playing it overloads the whole managed sytem. The normal campaign is easy to budget for and Celtic can easily manage the Bandwidth needed, I just don’t think they can EVER anticipate how big the interest is in Celtic, every Growing Season.

    Moral of the Story……

Dinnae expect top drawer streaming in pre season friendlies, whatever the Season is. ;)

The Africa seed is about to blossom, I’m quite sure the Far Eastern seed is well under way noo.

There is a synthesis between the Celtic Support and all Cultures after all.

The Bible warns about many things, many things I have gibbered about, but The Celtic Support is a guiding light, a light that should be put on a pedestal. Is it any wonder the forces of darkness are trying to suppress the Good Things?

The Rangers died but anyone who thinks that is everything solved, is bonkers, all that happened was an army from the Evil side was defeated through dilligence and hard work. A lot more and dangerous battles to come, they will be defeated as well.

Paul67, thinks jumping into bed with the big boys will solve everything. I don’t think that suits Celtic.

There is no doubt, IMO anyway, we would, over the course of 5 years or so, become the Biggest, Richest and most desirable Club to play for totally because of all the infrastructure we have built up methodically because we have been seriously disadvantaged.

Let us do it all from total weakness. Celtic is about beating all the odds, not being odds on.

I’m sure many listened to the link I posted about the Power of Weakness.

Terrible thing pneumonia, had it when I was much younger, wouldn’t wish it on anyone, especially an older person.

Looking forward to them here big time, the older wan is six and a half, the young fella will be four when he is here, hard work, but worth every second, will be reminding grand daughter of the Spanish she knows, she will pick it up again in a week, she was reasonably fluent at four, just needs to keep it up.

    Their grumpy will need a holiday when they leave >}

Agree with most of your points (generally) so forgive me but in my opinion it shouldn’t be looked at that way. Yes we would like to all sit back and watch our Club’s reps fight the good fight and nail the whole lot of them to the wall but in the ‘environment’ ( that word again ) that we operate in, as you are fully aware, doesn’t make these issues straight–forward. They are a dangerous, secretive, powerful, connected force that we face — as ridiculous as it seems for a football club in 2013, but there ye go. I don’t envy our leaders one bit. But despite this I would rather it was taken up by the fans, our fans…..All fans, who want to see a fair game.

I fear the momentum lost from RTC’s mysterious retirement has been lost save from a few good Mhen.

  7. TET,

Yer no listening, if the club ask, the SFA have no say in the matter, UEFA are obligated to carry out the investigation if the bored decide agains the resolution the it shows they are satisfied with everything that happened and the rest is up to the individual on how they interpret

Personally I could not give a sh@@ about sevco. I take your point about the quality of the transmission, but since I cannot afford to travel abroad to see our team, anything is better than nothing. We live in hope. :)))

I was directing my posts to canamalar, he has embarked on a mission, and I wish him well, just trying to point out the pitfalls.

Tend to agree with you, we are the club, always have been, always will be, but, there does not seem to be any fight these days, things are going well for most, so the apathy has set in.

When the huns are back in the spl, winning with the aid of the referees again, the support might get the spark needed to fight, but till then, I fear they are not up for it.

Even the past seasons with the huns around, they cheated with total impunity, and the support moaned on the blogs, no action was taken, where were the protests ??????

It was always going to be a dirty fight, the odds are well stacked against us.

    Time will tell mi amigo.

As you are eating dinner, inform Mrs.EC67 that your stomach is a little upset and you have to visit the bathroom.

Once seated you can watch the game on your computer, remembering to tip the waiter to keep sliding beers under the door every 10 minutes.

At half time return to the table and tell the wife that you are starting to feel a little better and you should be 100% in about 45minutes…She’ll never know.

Make sure she has a full glass of wine and return to the bathroom.

Be very careful regarding cheering, singing, shouting and swearing in a loud voice.

Repeat process for the next 3 games…..Simples.

It is amazing how the wee yins can pick up languages from an early age. Our wee yin is as fluent in english as she is Finnish. Ok we speak to her every week via facetime on ipad. I am listening, just trying to play devils advocate.

IF the club ask, a very big ask imo, they will need to be forced to ask, and I didn’t say the sfa wouldn’t involve uefa, I said they would do everything in their power not to involve them, who knows what threats are made behind closed doors.

As ever, it will be fan pressure, keep it up, as you say, their response will tell all that is needed to know.

Then action will be needed, but as I said to the BB, apathy has set in imo.
