‘WE DESERVED BETTER,’ LUSTIG

MIKAEL LUSTIG is adamant Celtic did not deserve to lose 2-1 to Bayern Munich in Glasgow last night.

The defeat knocked the Hoops out of the Champions League, but the Swedish defender insisted their display merited a better outcome.

He said: “It’s a good performance. We, at least, deserved one point.

“We showed to everyone, and especially to ourselves, that we can play in this level. That was better than before.

“We knew we’re going to play against good players, but we pressed them well and created chances to score some goals.

“It’s two goals that we think we can do better with. The first one is a clearance for them.

“We were fighting back into the game and it feels a little bit easy the second one, as well. Overall, the performance was okay.”

With Paris Saint-Germain hammering Anderlecht 5-0, Brednan Rodgers’ side cannot finish in the top two.

However, they hold an advantage over the Belgian side in the race to finish third having won 3-0 in Brussels.
