The SFA’s statement last night clarifies the immediate future of the game, or lack thereof. No training will be permitted until at least the 10 June and the professional game can start 6 weeks after training. Without the lockdown being extended, the earliest behind closed doors football game can take place on 22 July.
It would be possible to complete the Premiership by 19 August. Today’s proposal by the SPFL keeps this option on the table.
The new league season would need to start immediately thereafter, games would almost certainly be played behind closed doors and Uefa would need to delay the start of Champions and Europa League qualification competitions until the last week in August. I think this is unlikely, but it remains possible.
I understand that Hearts, four points adrift at the bottom, are lashing out in every direction, but they would be better advised to try to win support for league reconstruction than go down the belligerent route. Maybe Ann Budge should have retained the bonus scheme and avoided all this stress.

I see many discussions about should Celtic be declared champions with 8 League games left and backed up by percentages I.e. BBC 98% chance of Celtic being champions. I’m not looking at percentages but at hard facts. So far this season Celtic have played 36 games in league and cups losing 2. YES played 36 and lost only 2 but some people are implying we could lose 4 out of 8 League games! Grasping at straws comes to mind.

Q. Why are the SPFL still using Fax as a method of communication? Surely scan and email is more traceable if there is a failed receipt? I can’t remember the last time I faxed anything to do with business.

I watched the movie ” the Greatest Story Ever Told ” from 1965 once again on TV yesterday.
I remember going to the “Pictures/Flicks” in the Odeon Picture Hall in Scotstoun, and I would be going on 10 years of age, and i was only in Scotstoun for a day or two as my Dad lived there.
Immediately after The Cruxification and its pouring with rain..it cuts to a scene with a Roman Soldier standing alone in the rain and mud…and he says…” Truly this Man was the Son of God”.
That Roman Soldier was John Wayne !
