The SFA’s statement last night clarifies the immediate future of the game, or lack thereof. No training will be permitted until at least the 10 June and the professional game can start 6 weeks after training. Without the lockdown being extended, the earliest behind closed doors football game can take place on 22 July.
It would be possible to complete the Premiership by 19 August. Today’s proposal by the SPFL keeps this option on the table.
The new league season would need to start immediately thereafter, games would almost certainly be played behind closed doors and Uefa would need to delay the start of Champions and Europa League qualification competitions until the last week in August. I think this is unlikely, but it remains possible.
I understand that Hearts, four points adrift at the bottom, are lashing out in every direction, but they would be better advised to try to win support for league reconstruction than go down the belligerent route. Maybe Ann Budge should have retained the bonus scheme and avoided all this stress.

By luck or shrewdness, Peter Lawwell has kept Celtic in a good position to weather these unprecedented times.
Subsequently no ST holder should lose their seat because they financially cannot meet the “deadline “. A nominal deposit should suffice at this stage ; It is the caring and compassionate thing to do for a support like no other.
Many of us are still working and can afford to renew. I would wager Celtic must have sold circa 25,000 seats already. So there is a new revenue stream coming in.

I was at a very pretentious lunch held by the National Association of Estate Agents .
It was in the Terraces Hotel in Stirling .
They had been hopping venues for the meetings .Some members had previously complained about the standard of food being provided for Lunch .
Prior to the lunch .
I had been asked to give a brand new member a lift to what was her first ever meeting .
I had explained the snobbery of the set up .
She was nervous , and I told her not to worry .
We arrived just on time for lunch .
Took the only two seats that were left .
Then I realised that we were at the table of the Scottish associations board members .
Two of them were the antagonists in causing the uproar about food standards.
The table chit chat was stifled and everyone was talking in their most polite and poshest accents .
I could tell my Virgin colleague was intimidated .
She had put on her poshest Fife accent .

One of the lunch antagonists asked her how her food was .
She replied with the immortal line .
