Weepy incompetent Newco, belligerent Hearts, be Good to each other

808

The SFA’s statement last night clarifies the immediate future of the game, or lack thereof.  No training will be permitted until at least the 10 June and the professional game can start 6 weeks after training.  Without the lockdown being extended, the earliest behind closed doors football game can take place on 22 July.

It would be possible to complete the Premiership by 19 August.  Today’s proposal by the SPFL keeps this option on the table.

The new league season would need to start immediately thereafter, games would almost certainly be played behind closed doors and Uefa would need to delay the start of Champions and Europa League qualification competitions until the last week in August.  I think this is unlikely, but it remains possible.

I understand that Hearts, four points adrift at the bottom, are lashing out in every direction, but they would be better advised to try to win support for league reconstruction than go down the belligerent route.  Maybe Ann Budge should have retained the bonus scheme and avoided all this stress.

Newco’s anger is a pale shadow of what we saw during the Traynor statement years.  It’s all a bit limp for my palette. I like my Newco statements frothing with anger, typed while standing in fermenting urine-soaked shoes with flute music blaring in the background.  Don’t judge me.

Today’s “legal advisor did not deem our Members Resolution as competent” is so weepy all I feel is pity.

This afternoon’s SPFL vote can change only details for Celtic.  The real battle was to make this season Null and Void and our incompetent friends across the city were chased out of town for that suggestion.  Celtic will be champions; nine-in-a-row is ours, whether achieved on the field or after Uefa issue advice to national associations.

It’s also interesting to watch the paranoia triggers.  Our own sufferers’ gas will be at a peep for a while, whereas Newco’s conspiracy theorists were born for these times.  Do not be like any of them, just because the tide goes against you, doesn’t mean The Man is out to get you!  You’re just a little anxious.

I know this is a Terrible Good Friday, but be Good to each other today – and stay indoors all weekend.

  1. Back again, don’t post for ages and then two in one day.

Anyway getting back to the point was watching the re-run of the first Glasgow Derby of the season and noticed that the camera cut to the Colombian Coke head getting ready to come on and he is being spoken too by one of the staff and shown something on a clip board. Then it occurred to me that he, supposedly, cannot speak English very well but there was no sign of a translator? Is there anything about that abomination of a club that isn’t dodgy?

The huns are copying the government – try and find an emotional hook to distract from being pish – make a hullaballoo about the vote knowing it’ll make no difference to anything but will completely distract from the fact that after the CP game, they had a chance, a real chance to challenge us down to the last day until slippy g’s management and the effect of their finances on the squad had meant they had lost the league by game 30. It was within their hands to be in with a shout for the league. They lost the league against the dons, hertz, livi etc. etc.

The last ten years has been the same thing over and over again; generate any distraction from the core business problems they have and promise the fans things will be better.

Their leaders know there will be no questionning or no critical guidance and governance from their community.

They can muster a hissy fit over a common sense vote but not the wherewithall to sort their problems out.

That news should pop a few blood vessels :0D))))

  4. BBC Reporting that SPFL Chairman Murdoch McLennan has told The Huns Douglas Park to “Put up or Shut Up”, and has challenged the Huns to provide evidence of any wrongdoing by The SPFL re The Ballot etc ?

he is demanding that Park produces evidence, or WITHDRAW the Huns claims ?

I asked the question earlier Today or was it yesterday ?…Have the Huns PRODUCED any DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE of them contacting the SPFL on several occasions BEFORE The Ballot on Friday…as they have claimed ?

Hertz Budge ADMITTED that She had telephoned many clubs before the Ballot…did the Huns do likewise in attempts to have other Clubs support their stance, and maybe “Threatening” other Clubs that if they didnt support the Huns view in the Ballot, then the Huns fans will Boycott their grounds…or maybe even ban ALL away fans from Ipox etc…that wouldnt surprise me one little bit.

This could get ugly….so the Huns will fit right in.

  7. Dramatic detail on Dundee ‘missing vote’ emerges as Inverness chief reveals incredible timeline of events

SPFL season-ending resolution is hanging in the balance as Dundee stall.

Dramatic new information on Dundee’s ‘missing vote’ on the SPFL coronavirus crisis action plan has emerged after Inverness chief Scot Gardiner revealed his detailed timeline of events on Friday’s failed D-Day.

The Dens Park club hold the balance of power for the entire 42-team league with their vote – which has yet to be received according to league chiefs – set to tip the result one way or the other.

Should they vote for the SPFL resolution it will be carried and the Championship, League One and League Two season will be brought to an end with positions determined on a points per average basis. Prize money would also be distributed, and power would be given to end the Premiership at a later date.

But Inverness CEO Gardiner, appearing on BBC Sportsound this afternoon, has thrown explosive new claims on the situation.

His side – along with Partick Thistle who would be relegated as a result of a yes vote – both returned NO replies to the SPFL on Friday.

But Gardiner – formerly CEO at Dundee – claims his old club backtracked on an agreement they too would vote against the resolution – providing a third no vote that would bring the whole plan down.

In a detailed timeline of his events on Friday Gardiner claimed Dundee’s secretary sent him a picture of a slip saying they had registered a no vote only to later receive another message telling him the Dee vote hadn’t arrived.

Gardiner said: “Partick Thistle, ourselves and Dundee had all spoken openly and said we could not vote for this resolution.

“We had a discussion earlier in day asking if we would all vote at same time to show solidarity but that was deemed to be problematic as I was having to go into stadium.

“We agreed we would vote then circulate that vote so we could see it. Thistle were the first club to vote. Gerry sent his voting slip to all of us, not just to the three clubs but others that were on this WhatsApp group.

“Partick Thistle sent that at 14.52 – I have that in front of me and its signed and dated.

“At 16.24 we received Dundee’s voting slip signed and dated by John (Nelms). We all received that.

“At 16.39 I signed and dated our voting slip and published that to the group and I submitted that.

“We were then also sent Dundee’s ‘no’ voting slip and statement that later went out.

Rangers demand Neil Doncaster suspension in explosive statement calling for independent investigation into SPFL

“At 16.52 we then got a message from Dundee’s secretary which says – and I won’t tell you all the message – but the final line was “DFC vote submitted”.

“That’s the facts of the matter as far as we were all concerned. Thereafter we went through the rabbit hole.”

Gardiner went on to state he received a message from the Dundee secretary Eric Drysdale shortly after 6pm saying their vote had not been received by the SPFL.

“We received message at 6.07pm from Dundee secretary saying their vote wasn’t received but he gave his solemn word that it was sent. At that stage it was quite alarming.

“I replied at 6.12pm saying you can still resend it and it counts.

“At that stage we were told that he had been instructed to hold off from resubmitting the Dundee vote.

“That was at 6.21pm at which stage you can imagine the situation is pretty fraught for Thistle and Stranraer.

“I replied at 6.23pm to say ‘if they contacted you to say they have not received your vote Eric, woudn’t you have just re-sent it?’

“He replied saying nobody had contacted him. He assumed that the vote had been cast and was awaiting an acknowledgement.”

Show guest Michael Stewart asked who it was who told the secretary to hold off – Gardiner confirmed it was Dee co-owner John Nelms.

“At that stage I spoke to Jacqui Low and Gerry Britton at Partick Thistle – it was quite emotional because goodness knows the stress they were under,” Gardiner continued.

“That was our only thought – we could not see any way where Inverness could vote and do this to another club.

“We received various text messages from different clubs saying ‘Scot we understand DFC vote not received yet’.

“We thought we should distribute money to clubs that are in real trouble – we thought it was fundamentally wrong to conflate the two things of promotion and relegation with receiving funds that are after all the clubs’ funds.

“I am still flabbergasted at the arguments. We could not countenance a situation where we could take a vote that would lead to redundancies at Hearts and Thistle on Monday morning and who knows what at Stranraer.

    “That was our only thought.

“We are not on our knees right now but I promise you we have one knee down. If we voted yes then we would have received £330,000 next week for being in second place.

“We voted out of the principle that we could not relegate another club.

“I would sleep easier at night if we had that money right now.”

Asked if there had been any more clarity, Gardiner said: “No it’s radio silence. We have no idea what is going on now.

Lawwell replaces Robertson on SPFL board, says Sky.

    ——-

Cant find a story on that, was it on TV?

  9. Aberdeen apparently changed their mind at the last minute and voted for the SPFL Proposal…

Dundee MAY have promised ICT and Partick etc that they would vote against The SPFL Proposal…but then changed their mind also ?

IF Dundee had changed their view AFTER their original vote that they thought had already been submitted by email…then surely they would have sent a Further email to ensure that their NEW Opinion on matters be taken as Official and for the SPFL to disregard Dundee’s original email/vote ?

IF they didnt…bearing in mind that Dundee have apparently ADMITTED sending in their vote to the SPFL…and believing that it had been received at the SPFL….Why wouldnt they contact the SPFL again ?

This is where maybe The Huns think that they have valid claim against the SPFL’s “unfairness” in this matter, IF there is DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE that the original vote from Dundee WAS INDEED received by the SPFL, but was then discarded… IF Dundee had in fact changed their view and promptly sent ANOTHER vote insisting THAT 2nd Vote be viewed as their final decision ?

If the above…or some of it , is maybe what has occurred….I wonder if the SPFL can simply say…each club had the RIGHT to alter their view at any time, and that there was/is NO Written Ruling that a Clubs 1st Vote should be viewed and accepted as Final ?

    This could get pretty ugly…

What is good about this is that it is exposing all those who believe their agenda is a greater cause than the majority who need closure to make plans

  14. My posts on the SPFL Ballot and what may have happened are all just speculation on my part obviously !

    Take no notice please.

Maybe the Huns have valid complaints about Doncaster and Co…Maybe they dont ? I certainly dont know.

With McLennan telling the Huns to more or less “Put up or Shut Up”, I can only imagine that the SPFL are very confident about how they have handled matters, and that the Huns have no grounds for complaint and could force the Huns to back track etc ?

However, I can imagine some dirty linen being washed in public…unless its all a Masonic secret ?

Had a good morning, grocery store opens 7 am for seniors, for 1 hour, I was there about 7:10 am, very busy and as usual plenty of none seniors At the line up to check out there was a young girl behind me (about 18) with her mom, cart packed up with groceries. woman directing shoppers to check out asks her “are you a senior” blank stare from mom, again same question no answer right move into this check out it will open at 8 am about half hour. She looked at me with same blank stare I smiled and said, “will you ever learn to read notices” blank stare.

good for loblaws you made my morning.

*Not really a fan of the Westons, allegedly the 3rd wealthiest in the country, however as I’m on their points scheme (for the 20% discount on Thursdays) I regularly get e-mails from Galen and they have been stepping up tae the plate during this horrible period.

Reminds me of a holiday at hame several years back, I was in the express line in the local Coop when the cashier, sitting on a swiveling stool I hasten tae add and not like the ones here who have tae stand, leaned past me and started tae count the groceries on the belt, she then said tae the customer behind me “can you no read, too many oot”, and at that the person went tae another line.

When I came back I told this tae a wee Irish cashier in Sobeys who said they widnae be allowed tae dae that and in fact would be fired.

I was impressed by the 10-2 result I saw reported from the Premiership in favour of the SPFL proposal, especially when there was to be no immediate release of their prize monies included in it. The majority showing solidarity with the lower league teams’ financial distress in these perilous times.

Looking forward to Hearts’ relegation misery.

Step forward now, the two men we can rely on to steer the good ship Scottish football through these choppy waters; Campbell Ogilvie and Gordon Smith, where are you?

And the same individual who slaughtered Celtic fans on a visit to Dunde, as being drunksen needs etc a few Season back ??
