Weepy incompetent Newco, belligerent Hearts, be Good to each other

808

The SFA’s statement last night clarifies the immediate future of the game, or lack thereof.  No training will be permitted until at least the 10 June and the professional game can start 6 weeks after training.  Without the lockdown being extended, the earliest behind closed doors football game can take place on 22 July.

It would be possible to complete the Premiership by 19 August.  Today’s proposal by the SPFL keeps this option on the table.

The new league season would need to start immediately thereafter, games would almost certainly be played behind closed doors and Uefa would need to delay the start of Champions and Europa League qualification competitions until the last week in August.  I think this is unlikely, but it remains possible.

I understand that Hearts, four points adrift at the bottom, are lashing out in every direction, but they would be better advised to try to win support for league reconstruction than go down the belligerent route.  Maybe Ann Budge should have retained the bonus scheme and avoided all this stress.

Newco’s anger is a pale shadow of what we saw during the Traynor statement years.  It’s all a bit limp for my palette. I like my Newco statements frothing with anger, typed while standing in fermenting urine-soaked shoes with flute music blaring in the background.  Don’t judge me.

Today’s “legal advisor did not deem our Members Resolution as competent” is so weepy all I feel is pity.

This afternoon’s SPFL vote can change only details for Celtic.  The real battle was to make this season Null and Void and our incompetent friends across the city were chased out of town for that suggestion.  Celtic will be champions; nine-in-a-row is ours, whether achieved on the field or after Uefa issue advice to national associations.

It’s also interesting to watch the paranoia triggers.  Our own sufferers’ gas will be at a peep for a while, whereas Newco’s conspiracy theorists were born for these times.  Do not be like any of them, just because the tide goes against you, doesn’t mean The Man is out to get you!  You’re just a little anxious.

I know this is a Terrible Good Friday, but be Good to each other today – and stay indoors all weekend.

  4. Until this weekend I didn’t really suffer the pop-ups on this site using my old Samsung7.

I have downloaded Duckduckgo and this has prevented the jumping screen and adverts tgat were embedded in the comments section.

However the number of stories that need to be scrolled past between Paul67 leader and the comments has dramatically increased.

Previously it was 6 or 7.

I just carried out a little comparison.

I started scrolling and counting…. as i neared the comments more and more stories were added, ( often repeats that I have already scrolled past)

Its like a Tom & Jerry chase,

    TV, Sofa, Lampstand,

    TV, Sofa, Lampstand,

    etc. etc

    Many are CQN stories.

I gave up counting at 246 ( it appears that scrolling slowly makes the device assumes you are contemplating opening one, so loads more).

Although this would be the perfect Lock Down past time it’s likely to result in RSI.

I find that I have to scroll at high speed to get to the comments.

Once I have reached the comments all seems to be ok.

Hopefully someone at CQN HQ can address.

    ……

Thank you for your kind words Re Henke and my health.

My health isnt too good at the moment…dizzy every day etc…but nothing that 15 Pints of Beer wouldnt cure…once the Pubs are open again, I have an Off Sales 30/40 yards from my home…I just cant bring myself to go there and buy Carry Oots…as I have never really been a Hoose drinker, especially when living alone. I like to stand/sit in a Bar and listen and hopefully contribute to the banter.

    LOL.

Another fantastic truth about Henke was while he was at Celtic Park for those 7 great years, the Celtic support really showed their love for him throughout his Celtic career ( and beyond).

Sometimes I read or hear about some Ex player of certain clubs , only being appreciated once they have left etc…Henke had our love and appreciation throughout his time with Celtic…..APART from THAT first appearance for Celtic when he passed the ball to Chic Charnley at Easter Road !

He was very quickly forgiven for that very small blemish…

It maybe made him better and stronger…although I doubt that Henke would have allowed that “small blemish”/ wee mistake”, to affect him in any way….and he proved that time and time again.

I can well remember in some games Henke may have missed an early chance etc…and the opposition support would be triyng to mock him etc…I used to shout at those Chumps….

” Mock that man at your PERIL….He will come back to haunt you lot” !

More often than not…..Henke would prove me right as the game went on !

WE have been presented with evidence via a whistleblower that raises serious concerns surrounding the SPFL’s processes relating to its stewardship of the voting on the resolution presented to member Clubs.

Rangers’ Interim Chairman, Douglas Park, attempted to discuss this evidence with SPFL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, who initially refused to do so. The SPFL followed up that call with an e-mail, which we believe was a thinly disguised attempt to silence legitimate concerns.

Rangers will not be bullied into silence. We believe it is in the interests of all Scottish clubs and supporters that the evidence, which is alarming, be addressed as quickly as possible.

The voting debacle and the evidence we possess raise serious questions concerning the corporate governance of the SPFL.

Mr Park said: “The lack of leadership and responsibility from the SPFL as a members’ organisation has shocked me. If ever there was a time for complete openness and transparency, it is now. Crucial decisions are being made on the issues of promotion and relegation behind closed doors and without proper time for consideration or debate.

“The farcical conduct of this affair seems to me to bring the corporate governance and business operations of the SPFL into sharp focus. It is an example of an undemocratic culture, which has existed within the SPFL for far too long.

“As a member club, we are disturbed by the evidence that has been presented and feel there is no choice but to call for an independent investigation into this entire matter. Each member of the SPFL board has a duty to its members to ensure that such an investigation is instructed without delay.

“All we ask for is equality and respect. In the past few days, we have become alarmed at a seeming lack of even-handedness and fair play from the SPFL. This is surely unacceptable and, if substantiated, must be remedied.

“Other member clubs, who have seen the evidence we hold, share our concerns.

“We call for the suspension of the SPFL’s Chief Executive, Neil Doncaster and its legal adviser, Rod McKenzie while an independent investigation is conducted.”

  23. There is a WhatsApp group of Championship clubs. Dundee rep apparently said on it that they had voted before 5pm. They released at statement at 5:03pm which didn’t saying anything either way, appearing to suggest they had not voted.

‘Scot Gardiner of Inverness adds on same chat at 18:07 the Dundee secretary told the same group they had been asked to “hold off” resubmitting their vote.’

So it looks like the Dundee vote was either submitted and received, or not received by the SPFL (unlikely), or they were asked to ‘hold off’ from submitting it all together.

I posted last night that something does not add up. It looks to me like the SPFL want Dundee to vote a certain way and may be offering something in return as they negotiate their vote.

Regardless of this, its clear this is a concerted campaign by the Huns to null and void the season.

  24. Reading between the lines, it may be the case that the SPFL have managed to get, or may be close to getting Dundee to agree to the resolution and the huns have thrown the toys out of the pram.
