What now from HMRC after New £9m tax delinquency

1073

Contrary to our earlier understanding, Rangers did not win a ruling from the Court of Session on who was to be appointed administrator, HMRC and Rangers came to agreement on the appointment of Duff and Phelps, who acted for Whyte during his takeover of the club.

The admission by Duff and Phelps that today’s court action by HM Revenue and Customs was in connection to circa £9m unpaid tax accrued since the takeover in May last year will come as a surprise no one in the Celtic Quick News community.  This is why Rangers are now in administration, it’s nothing to do with the big tax case, or indeed, the wee tax case.

Key question is, what will HMRC do now?  They’re not going away/. Rangers continued to sign football players despite being delinquent with taxes, and briefed journalists that they rejected a £9m offer for a player on 31 August 2011.

The fact that the business is in administration due to activity carried out under Craig Whyte’s tenure may also interest the Insolvency Service, who are already investigating Whyte’s takeover of the club following information passed by former chairman, Alastair Johnston.

One final push (this week) for the Vanessa Riddle Appeal. We have a Celtic top signed by the first team squad available to auction on eBay. You can bid on the auction and help send Vanessa for the treatment she needs by clicking here. Thanks to Penfold for the donation and to Taggsybhoy for organising (yet again).

Tonight is a special night, I have spent the last 2 days having special time with my babes, they have both had a great time from pandas to disney shop to burgers to giving dad a hard time about going to bed early. During all this, in the background, I had the joy of having the most hated institution in my mind tearing itself apart.

I so love being a father,

    I so love my wife,

    I so love Celtic.

    Thank you God

That’s their style VP, flood the tv and radio with huns(sic) telling us how much we need the huns, they must think we’re as thick as them.

Not one true Celtic man has been asked as far as I know, sure a few Uncle Tims trotted out the party line.

I hope they go totally bust, potless, penniless and half of them end up in jail.

I’m not being too greed am I..

  6. Gordon J – exactly.

Not only was everyone who was a guest apart from the accountant of a rangers persuasion (openly) but they then go on to tell us how we think. News for you gents we don’t care about your club, we dont care about not seeing you ever again, we just want to support our club in a fair untainted football competition.

we dont need no stinking rangers and we dont need no stinking rangers fans telling us how to think

Do you think Paddy Power will announce they are paying out on the SPL title :-)

Yes, for the next three years.

  8. Paul,

Hopefully you will get the point across about the lack of sporting integrity in this whole affair. This event has not ‘happened’ to RFC. They have cheated the taxpayers out of tens of millions of pounds and they should not walk away from this responsibility.

A mention of Ice Cream and Jelly would be nice.

Not sure if you should mention the “flushed away like a horrible wee jobby” though :-)

    Lubo.

  9. Middle tax case syndrome?

A musing…we all thought this was coming, but we daren’t believe it. Had we been confident we’d have been lumping every penny on us to win the league.

Makes it sweeter that deep down I think we were afraid to really BELIEVE this would happen despite it being logical.

    Yeeoooooo!

  10. Would Celtic supporters still turn up to Celtic Park if Rangers died? This was just asked on Scotland Tonight.

Can I be the first to answer it?

    Emphatically, emphatically, absolutely, undeniably YES!

Did the uglies turn up at Ibrox when Celtic couldn’t compete with their team of expensively assembled and overpaid drunks in the 90s?

Was Scottish football facing Armageddon when we were hours from extinction?

If we all love Celtic as much as I believe we do then Celtic will continue without Rangers and thrive again without Rangers.

  11. Just watched erchie whoaaaaaaaa macpherson and some Dick on Stv once again speak for the Celtic support……no no no, I do not know 1 tim who think we need govan utd in Scotland. Where do these guys get their info?

  12. what do you expect from a studio full of rangers fans? they hate us more than they love their own club whilst we couldnt care less if they died. would i miss the OF games; perhaps at first but frankly I could get over not listening to their sectarian and racist bile pretty quickly.

    let them die.

  13. My boss Peter Principle

I don’t know how to do the link thing. If you go to you tube, then SeanCarr Jelly & ice cream you should get it .Slan.

  14. How can they not show ‘Manchester’…….when they troop out the ‘pwoud’ rubbish?

    Jabba, deflecting from wee davie……….

  15. It seems the media are convinced that Celtic fans are all liars. Apparently we all live for the ‘Glasgow derby’.

Well, isn’t there a way to show we don’t give a stuff? A certain game coming up at Ibrox?

    You know it makes sense.

  16. jinkyredstar cuts it back for Neil Lennon on

Boycott IPox in March – no brained.

Never mind a beam back but have an on-line giving sight- everyone who would have gone to Morder plus all who go to the pub pay £10.00 to a cause – Vanessa perhaps- money that would have gone to Whyte’s Monacco trip goes to a good home.

Win win for all who matter.
