You did this

470

This year some of your money went to Whizz-Kidz, who help some of the estimated 70,000 children in the UK waiting for the right wheelchair.  They not only provide equipment and life skills, but also offer support to young people.  Take a look at this video to find out the kind of way your cash has changed a life:

We’ve just sent off money to Action on Depression, a Scottish charity working with some of the 10% of the population who suffer from this illness at some point in their lives.  Like all of the recipients of your money this year, there is a feeling that we provided no more than a drop in the ocean of what is required, but with depression we felt that bringing the subject out into the open was as important as the money donated.

This illness can do enormous damage lurking in the shadows, let’s kick it into the light.

Many of you will remember the Martin Chamber Ecuador Trust.  Fr Martin left Scotland some years ago to help some of the most deprived people on earth.  In his words, this is why we helped:

“I would say that people should care about the poor people of Ecuador firstly because they are our brothers and sisters.  On top of that their needs are great: they have no running water, no proper sanitation, no sewerage system and poor electricity.  They have little access to education or to medical care and they are crammed together in bamboo huts – mile upon mile of houses, millions of people living below the poverty line.  That’s why people should care.”

You gave to the Ronnie Coyle Benefit Trust, sadly, Ronnie is no longer with us, you donated to the Aberdour PTA, from the Fife village that hosts our summer get-together, and you gave a donation to The Haven, who help people with life limiting illness from Glasgow and Lanarkshire.  Their story is available in a short video here, take a look at what your money is doing.

All in I’d say you did very well.  Very well indeed.  Have a great Christmas, you deserve it.

  1. Ten Men Won The League on

I never tire of watching Chelsea suffer

Without RA’s money, they will go back to being the mid-table EPL side that they really are

Viduka had more talent in his little finger than Henrik had in his whole body.

I’ll have a pint of what you have been drinking pal…..no comparison between the 2 as far as human beings go.

One was class and his name was not Marco or whatever Aussiefied name he wanted to be called.

Croats love the money, just watch Jelly disappear very soon when the carrot is dangled.

I think the result will be what the result will be, optimism is good; or so I believe.

I love Christmas, I love it for all the right reasons too, I love sharing it with those that I can, but once it has passed I can’t help but look back. We’re all of us on the one road mate; we can be happy on our journey but still keep a wee piece of us reserved for a hope and a dream. It is not a burden, it is a privilege.

    Thanks, both.

I suppose all will be revealed by media if and when he favours us against them …. some hope of that happening eh.

  5. should have said, highlights are of the St Mirren game only just now for some reason….having just seen them there is no doubt that the reds are correct but I notice their is no mention or footage of the Laughatme yellow/red. They look mince!!

I think you missed the point, which is that application can be more than talent.

Anyone who saw Henrik running about in the Wold Cup in 94 would have seen a fish out of water, but nevertheless the raw talent was there.

He wasn’t signed as an out-and-out striker. He didn’t have the build when he signed for us that he developed as time went on. He BECAME a great player.

Viduka always thought he was one, slight difference.

Aye. No doubt about his shocking attitude.

I’d have to say he couldn’t lace Henrik’s boots though – at any time in his career.

  8. Diasppointed we will not see Hoops nutmegging big Goian.

Seen oil tankers turn quicker than him.

Jelavic falls over the ball for Saints’ 2nd goal and misses a sitter. A snip at £10m.

if Lenny had come out with the pash that Mccoist spouted about the red cards he`d have been slaughtered in the press

both cards were justified and Lafferty should have been sent off …a disgraceful tackle on McGowan

Fair comment but to say he had more talent in his little finger than he Henrik had in his whole body quite a strange comment.

I know the point you are getting at but behave.

I loved the way Viduka came and played for us especially when Henrik got injured and was out but when you do what he did to us I cannot and will not forgive him.

Give me players that want to play for Celtic in front of so called superstars any day of the week.

    As always just my opinion.

    Haha,we’ll agree to agree!

Viduka was being talked about as a £25m target for Real Madrid when he was at Leeds. We had a 30% sell-on,so I loathe him even more!!!!

  12. Wouldn’t wish to rate Viduka alongside KOK but I thought he was a very good

    footballer.

Don’t think any manager got the best out of him. Perhaps if he’d stayed when

MON arrived we’d have seen what he was really capable of.

I do remember coming home from games and saying to the good lady “that guy

    is something else”.

    A talent wasted IMO.

In a similar way I have intensely disliked John Collins since he signed for Monaco.

I believe he had the pick of a number of European clubs, all willing to pay him big bucks,

but chose the one that would see Celtic receiving nothing by way of a transfer fee

IIRC. No wonder Fergus went ballistic.

    ffs,Kauto Star wins.

    Fantastic performance by the horse.

Ruby barely move on it. I could have won with that underneath me.

Delighted, and I didnae even back it!

Horse racing is NOT always about betting. Sometimes it’s about sport.

  15. PFayr

Agreed, I’m still waiting for him to be pulled up for abusing the appeals panel on the Aluko dive, as you say if it had been Neil he would have been banned for many weeks already. I’m assuming the Laughtatme tackle was another one like the assualt on Hinkle a few years back?

  16. Hope everyone has recovered from the 2 day celebration of Xmas. Early crimbo pressie on the 24th much better than the whiskey, socks and decidedly iffy after shave received from the family. Staring to get a little nervous about Wednesdays game. “Beware a wounded animal”. We need an impartial ref at the top of his game, yeah right, as they will be ‘at it’. Think the Orcs will resort to the cardigans well tried line up of 1 up front and a packed midfield. We will need big Vic in Midfield along with Kyal to bully and ensure der H*n are harried at every opportunity.

Come on Celtic – Top of the League for New year.

Met Collins a few years back and tried to have a chat with him about football but he was too busy showing off his abs with Tosh poolside.

Lenny on the other hand had lots of time to talk to many of us and was a credit to our club.

Collins does seem to back us more than most ex Celts when on tv though, but that is not too difficult theses days.

  20. Are Der H*N appealing elbows red card? Be interesting to see if a ban would be increased. It looks like a deliberate assault even the oh so impartiatal BBC shortbread highlights. How can fat Sally even try and defend that? And why doesn’t Mcplod intervene and charge the begger with assault?
