Every year we ask you to put your hand in your pocket for various causes and every year you react, but never more so than 2012. You responded magnificently to the Wee Oscar Appeal, which from Celtic fans in total raised £31k in a bucket collection in September and £27k at a race night last month.
It is breath-taking to see the work done by those who, without thought for their personal sacrifices, decided this young boy would get the best chance possible. The photographs of Oscar are an inspiration, but the work done by those who staged the race night and bucket collection – and brought a new CQN badge to life – is even more inspiring.
The events surrounding the charity golf day raised four-figure sums for Oscar, the Neuroblastoma Alliance, the Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust and The Haven in Blantyre, which supports people with life limiting illness. There were smaller donations too, each one a credit to the organisers and to those of you who contributed.
The overwhelming majority of this work, and pretty much all donations, are made by people who don’t want any thanks and would be horrified by publicity. In most instances the beneficiaries will never know their names. I’m in the really fortunate position that I get to see a lot of this happen and I can assure you it is awe inspiring. You are in the company of many great Celts.
This club is not Neil Lennon’s or Dermot Desmond’s, it’s yours. Celtic will win and lose many games but that will change nothing that is really important. You are the person who will make it a unique force for good in the world. That is our challenge for 2013.
Thank you for all your help, take care and have an absolutely fantastic Christmas.

slow off the mark today, chaps?
Handy hint for cutting down on those ever increasing heating bills.
Clear up some leaves in the garden, come back in and the house feels warm as toast.
I was in a trance there watching the Lisbon Lions video that Kitalba posted.
Missed a Christmas podium-ah,well…..
Six hours and 45 mins until pub time :-)
Happy Christmas to you all, btw.
Well said Paul.

They are indeed the ones who make the difference and make our club a wee bit more special than other clubs but it is your car that gives us the ability to get there.

I cant compete with Chuck but I felt a bit queasy when Michael Grant solicited a smile out of me while describing Chucky as a professional yorkshire man. Sally is their Gromit

A cracking leader,PAUL67
I add my congratulations to those who have raised many thousands, giving up their time and/or cash.
I hope WEE OSCAR and his family have a better year in 2013,with the treatment their courage merits.
I wish all on here all they could hope for too…..

Kentbeth,
Thoughts & stuttering attempts at prayer are with your young friend.
All kinds of miracles happen & new treatments are being found every day.
Good Luck.

Green on Sky saying there may never be another us v them game. Asked why he replies, basically, because things are changing in world football. The man’s a visionary……….

Pete –
Great plan. Head up to Turra, clear the leaves off my grass, then nip into my house to warm it up before I get home.
Cheers, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Celtic Christmas Message
What an inspiring article, Magnificent.
Merry Xmas to everyone involved in this great place.

One of the best articles of the year Paul67.
Well said.
Those old enough to remember Robert Maxwell will recall how in 1986 as owner of Mirror Group Newspapers he stepped in and saved the Commonwealth Games but told us very day for 6 months how and why he did this in the Daily Record and Mirror titles, portraying himself as a man of the people and a national hero.
He was the ultimate self publicist but his empire was a sham built on lies and deceit, the money he spent to prop up the Mirror share price belonged to the pension fund and was ultimately lost forever. He was manipulative and was a liar, a cheat and a conman and bullied those who tried to speak up.
Every time Charles Green opens his mouthpiece I think of Robert Maxwell.
It looks like Greenie is planning to take over from Brucie next year.
If so, he’ll surely need to brush up on his cue reading skills and develop some charisma.
‘Aye lad, it’s reet naaas to see ye…to see ye…naaas. Eh up’.

Awesome
How good to be a Celtic Supporter
I tried unsuccessfully to explain the Celtic family to my wife…she wanted to understand and had a faint inlking of it from having attended some games, but the thing that cemented it was when I showed her this site. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Now Chuckles has given us many a laugh this year but he excels himself in this Christmas message to the downtrodden Bears.
This is toe curling vomit inducing stuff.

Shame on you for posting this rot. Should have come with a health warning. Consider yerselves warned…:-(
A bit of xmas logic:
Charles Green says there will be no The Rangers fans at the Dundee United game.
Charles Green says that Charles Green will be at the Dundee United Game.
Ergo Charles Green cannot be a fan of The Rangers.
Dan, thanks.
kitalba, they sure are.
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP, indeed.
bournesouprecipe, too true.
saltires en sevilla, straight back to you. Take care.
16 roads, all the best.
dksglen, cheers.
Doc, thanks.
