  1. This is some place. Again we have some guilpiin castigating Celtic men who are trying to make a difference whilst they themselves seem to do nothing but spout hot air and brown nose their “betters”.

    Sad to see that here

Can I correct an commonly held assumption?

The Foundation does not rely solely on the philanthropic efforts of the supporters – although I can’t blame anyone for thinking that as the PR message re the foundation is, or at least was not, as good as it could be.

In any given year, the contribution of the supporters – collections, fundraisers and so on – normally amounts to around 15-20 % of the foundation turnover.

In years where there is a large benefit game — such as the legends game a couple of years ago — the percentage jumps to around 30% or a bit more.

The balance of the money for the foundation comes from grant applications to the like of the big lottery fund and various other bodies, as well as working in partnership with other charities etc etc.

I have a document on that somewhere which I will look out and provide more details at another time.

To be fair, it took a couple of years working with the foundation before even I got a handle on the figures and it has been pointed out that the PR in getting the message out is poor.

Many fans think that the foundation is solely fan funded and this is just not so.

The PLC provide financial assistance by way of office space, a contribution towards overheads (salary) and so on and other support as a separate legal entity working in tandem with the foundation where possible.

On a separate note I am looking for you for a chat about an unrelated matter altogether.

Just asking, has it moved on, or are the SFA / SPFL still dangling you on a string, like a kitten playing with a ball of wool?

    =========

You don’t do thinking things through do you?

It’s not the shareholders reps that SFA are keeping dangling it’s ALL Celtic shareholders.

If Celtic and the Board you think can do no wrong are happy with that then they are doing a diservice to all shareholders by allowing the SFA to do so.

Celtic and the reps know much more about what is going on than you do, but that is really no excuse for having a go at all Celtic supporters who via the reps have evidence that the SFA do not want to examine because of what it says.

You stick to your uninformed dropped the ball theory. Others with much more information than you know that it’s still very much in play.

In fact the SFA in taking the stonewalling line they have are opening themselves up to more serious misgovernance charges.

So please give it a rest on Res12 and stick to commenting on what you do know.

Next time you are in the Boardroom talk to the Company Secretary. He knows.

  5. Few things I had to listen to on bus after work from fellow workers

They should just flatten Syria, killing innocents will be worth it to get terrorists .

No immigrants should be allowed to vote when they move to Australia

No immigrants should be allowed into Australia unless they speak English

All aboriginals should be kept in compound in middle of Australia desert with as much drink as they want to finish themselves off.

They should send all the Australian rapists and criminals to Syria see how they like taking people in.

Had to listen to it at breakfast aswel .. Lovely country with great oppurtunites but racist as hell. . This isn’t a one off . Regular chat from them.

I know. I owe you a tenner for the sleep out!

Ref the Foundation funding I am aware having worked with them in the past. So I was referring to the Public presentation mainly. Apols for my inexactitude on detail. I would say that the remaining grants are predicated on wider public good type activities so for me don’t sit well vis a vis non payment of the living wage.

Tony Donnelly. Auldheid and the group who are dealing with the club are doing there best with resolution 12 wither in the end they succeed is not really the point for me the point is they tried and did not just sit bumping there gums. I think both the club and the resolution 12 Bhoys are doing the right thing at the moment waiting to see who breaks cover after the tree has been shaken as it surely will be.In my opinion your post for me shows exactly why a fan on the Celtic board just would not work. The Aberdeen fans done more damage with a banner on Sunday than you lot have done the past 2 year, so get off your high horse, the snide jibes you lot come away with when questions get asked about Res. 12 , it’s not a wonder your getting no where with it.

I mostly enjoy CQN but there is one recurring feature that I dislike..

The timing of articles seems always to coincide with avoiding criticism of the Board. So for instance – right now – the joint statements seem very worthy of a lead aricle. Following Disasterous European performances – articles are updated swiftly – usually a diversion to EBTs to avoid any sustained analysis of Board failings.

Other than that it is great.

So after Bankier’s lack of judgement and Lawwells wholehearted approval of Delia swiftly followed by a draw with the mighty Killie – can we have an article that appraises the Board. Can we have a candid assesment of who much or little the Board are in touch with ordinary support?

Pretty much the same everywhere, I believe. Apparently , though, it ` s OK as `everyone is entitled to an opinion`…..even if it ends up in people being physically and verbally abused because they do not fit the stereotypical image of the narrow-minded. I heard it on the Supporters bus on Saturday about ` effin Muslims`.

On a different note, if people on here want to behave like naughty children, perhaps they could exchange emails and conduct their truculence in private. On the other hand, it is quite funny!

  13. Goooood morning CQN, a wee day off for me, so just back in with the dugs :-)

Within the foundation there are all sorts of conflicts with regard to the stance of the club and indeed its directors.

I had forgotten about the £1o for the sleepout — No I need to talk to you re your newly held position in the heart world but will send you an e-mail.

What is The Board`s job description? Anyone who wishes to praise or criticise should, perhaps, know that first if they wish any comment to be valid.

I’m in no doubt that the Board’s remit is to serve the best interests of the share holders.

This can be measured in financial performance. Which if looked at closely isn’t as good as projected IMO. Underlying issues are being masked by a hit and hope recruitment startegy.

Long term sustainability of the club must place relations with the support at the centre. The attendance on Saturday looked grim from the TV.

How is the retail income doing?

I rarely attend as I live in Aberdeen and my son generally plays football Saturday and Sunday but I spend a fair anmount in the run up to Christmas, when new kit is released etc. I’m feeling less inclined to do so. I’m conscious that more regular attenders are saying things like – I’m only going to away games. There is a fundamental disconnect – evidenced by AGM and its aftermath.

I think both supporters and Board are seeking something better that what we have.

  24. My friends in Celtic,

    Entitlement is a hun word.

We, or those of us beforehand have had to work to get to where we are now. As a society and as a club.

Excellent to read BRTH @09.46 hrs laying to rest some common assumptions, re the Foundation. I would hope that everyone on here reads, digests and remembers.

Hyptothetically last Friday, some of us may have got up in the morning, put on our Nike or Adidas trainers, made a cup of Starbucks coffee and settled down in front of the computor to order some goods from Amazon. Possibly even check our LV insurance.

We may then have had a bar of Cadbury’s chocolate finished off by a Nestles ice cream. Before going out we may have checked we had our Boots points card and flung on our new jacket, a present from Primark.

We may then have jumped into our new Volkswagon car and headed to the AGM to voice complaint about our unethical board. On the way home we may have stopped off to buy the wife a present, some Estee Laudor Perfume.

I think it is ethical to pay the living wage, but its also ethical to have a female on our board, preferably one who understands the offside rule.

Possibly one like Karren Brady, who never went to University. Who worked her way up from the grass roots. Then again, look what she has become. That will never do.

In my opinion, from a football perspective : Our board should only have one remit. To do the very best for our club, no-matter who or what they are. It shouldnt matter where they have come from or what they are now, provided its within the law. It is where we are going as a club that really matters.

And I hope that’s to a new league.

    HH to all Celtic supporters.

No, that CRC isn’t daft, he took the other sober one big leftie ( short for Leftclicktic, before they all dive in:-)) with him, I think it was so he could get the extra Beer :-)
